Pretty decent lunch break. Picked up 4 blueprints and a couple runes, finally beat Ponce. I didn't even occur to me that if I use the arcitect that I cant then just warp to bosses I've run into. That sure made it easier--way less time walking all through the castle to get back to the boss, which is pointless when you're at 60% gold anyway.  :wall:

Yeah we should lighten the mood. Someone tell a good story. Didn't someone break their fridge or something and it took them like a year to get a new one?
I used to work second shift/weekends at this place that was very sparsely populated. I eventually figured out how to automate most of my job so I would go in to conference rooms and sleep on the floor until my shift was over.

I also used to work at a certain retail store. I would get to work, clock in, and then leave (to go to the arcade down the street) only to come back and clock out 6 hours later. for some strange reason they'd put me in a small department that consisted of 100% mentally handicapped people (maybe my interview personality wasn't quite what I'd hoped). we weren't expected to talk to customers or anything, just stock a total of like 6 shelves and keep everything tidy. so I'd clean up like once a week for about 30 minutes.

while I'm not necessarily proud of either of those stories, I'd give a lot to have either one of those jobs right now just so I could go take a fuck ing nap.

Hey what skills did you get when you were going for thanndiowebia trophy? How much gold did you try to get/end up getting?
Here's the post I made a few days ago with my Thanatophobia-run tips:

-Get as much gold as you can with the first guy (Sir Lee, Level 0) without fighting any bosses.

-Hope that you get a Grace Rune and equip it ASAP to make enemies and bosses easier (more Grace Runes = easier time).

-Only get the Barbarian King and Paladin class upgrades, unlock the Shinobi class, then focus exclusively on increasing your Health, Attack, and Weight Limit (only just enough to carry new armor upgrades).
IIRC, I got 1000-2000k with Sir Lee, but I can't recall what I averaged with subsequent characters.

When I see reports about how the police are saying that the kid tried to wrestle the gun from the cop, shortly after having watched a couple more episodes of The Wire, I find myself taking that claim with a HUGE grain of salt.

my girl saw a video they pulled where she said they just straight up shot the guy 8 times. she couldn't find the link again other than that one i posted. when cops say, i shot him cuz he grabbed my gun, that is very tough to believe. of course the cop is gonna say that when he shot the unarmed 18y/o kid 8 times in the middle of daylight in the street. people don't trust the cops much around here anyway.

The problem is that cops cant trust anyone else either and some of them get trigger happy.  I dont know if the kid deserved to die but I highly doubt he didnt do or say anything to the cops.  But some cops are looking for you to say or do something just so they can fuck your day up.  Its always best to say yes/no sir.  I have had run ins with cops and so have my friends where all we do is blame ourselves for being dumb and say yes or no sir and cops let us go even when you can tell they want us to fuck with them so they can take us down.

There is a reason neither I nor my wife will ever own a gun.  Either one of us would be more than happy to shoot someone in the face when they cut us off in traffic.  We are taking personal responsibility by not owning weapons that we could use to harm.

It always sucks to run into cops with a power complex.

Mouthing off to a cop doesn't warrant getting shot nine times.

I can't find the video that I posted last night, but the chic was recording video the moment it happened and she said they just shot him up in the middle of the street and fuck the police. i shouldnt have deleted most of those vids i posted cuz they keep taking them off facebook...

oh n my dad is a cop, so im not anti cops or anything.

I've been arrested multiple times, and I'd say about half the cops I've encountered are actually pretty cool dudes, just doing their job. The other half were probably bullied in school and walk around with their chest poked out, abusing their authority.

Never said it was. But you have to be smart enough to not put yourself in dumb situations. Look at Stewart. If he wasnt driving on some shit race track he wouldnt have to worry about killing that kid.

You mouth off to a cop (and if you believe Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson) you will probably get shot like this kid. Just dont mouth off. Be nice even if the cop is not. Most cops arent animals, just really stressed people that can crack. If your nice to them they may just let you go on your way and you can live another day.

To be fair, you're white. I am too. It's a little easier for us to deal with cops.

I don't agree with that point of view, we shouldn't have to live in fear of being wrongfully killed by the people who are sworn to protect and serve us.

So 50k-100k total would be more than enough to upgrade what you need? Even without a rune/blueprint?
Maybe, but I wasn't thinking about stuff like that during my run--I just went from room to room and got whatever I came across, runes and blueprints included, if it didn't kill me to do so. Staying alive should be the utmost thing in your mind; if you're good at doing that, the gold will follow.

As I mentioned, you should try for runes if only to hopefully get a Grace Rune or two to make things easier.

Vig/Matt: Do grace runes lower the likelyhood of getting blueprints? I have 5 runes stacked, and I haven't gotten any prints yet, but I don't know if that's because I'm unlucky or if they don't generate.

The kid said don't shoot and put his hands up according to witnesses. who knows if witnesses are right or not, but putting his hands up and saying don't shoot and being unarmed and then getting shot 8 times and he is 18y/o and was gonna start college next week. sucks all around.

n yeah i know lots of nice cops, and i know lots of cops that will hurt you on purpose and say they are helping you. my dad said cops are just the biggest gang out there. i was at that bubble rave and 90% were tripping out and chics were all stripping and dancing and the cops were just there smiling and getting a free show while people were going holy shit im fucked up and tits were all over. it was a good work night for them. but you have similar situation and different cops and they could have arrested everyone for public nudity/intoxication. just depends on the cop. it was the sheriff too, pretty funny. we were watching him just stare at our friend grrlgrrl dancing on a table.

i drove through east saint louis the other day helping blue girl move furniture and there were posters all around saying 'don't shoot i want to grow up' and there is always reports of kids accidently getting killed over there. creepy stuff. my girl drove into east stl once and the cop told her to turn around and go back to stl. I only go over there if im going to pops/hustlers/etc but i barely go out that way. industrial park areas. ya know... and im very white.

police distrust is a pretty big problem everywhere I think. I can't even tell you why I personally have trouble trusting police - I've had apartment/car break-ins while I was home and gone, drunk folks trying to break in to my house, unpleasant and weird threats/involvement with local drugpersons, etc and they've always shown up when I called (although they've never been able to do anything). cultural problem? I dunno. it's pretty weird though.

I've only had two asshole cop experiences and both were vehicle related and while I don't appreciate being treated like that I also don't envy that part of their job so I won't fault either of them for it.

none of those circumstances ever had me considering a gun in my life or harassing a cop when he's trying to do his tough ass job.

Cops dont live in a vacuum. They have feelings like all of us but they have a badge and a gun they can use if you fuck with them. I just want everyone to stay alive and not have more assholes have an excuse to loot and rob and cause damage to other people's property.

Heck if I know--I had all of the blueprints before I ever used one of those (my Thanatophobia run). I suppose it's possible since the "rewards" are supposed to be worse.

I agree that the rioting is ridiculous, and solves nothing.

I completely agree.with wren on this.

Good rule of thumb, be nice and respectful to the man with the gun. Once you've left his presence in one piece, say whatever you want.

While you are dealing with someone that can mess up your day, or literally end your life due to a misunderstanding, it is yes sir, no sir for the duration of the conversation.

But then again, I've never been arrested, and you have... Several times.

If I'm being respected, I'll show respect back. Simple as that. Badge or no badge, he's just a man like the rest of us. Cower down in fear if you want, but I'm not wired that way.
