Usually, those save files are somewhere - in My Docs somewhere; older games might be in the actual game-folder itself; somewhere in the Steam's userdata folder...especially if it uses Steamworks and/or Steam Cloud saves - just look up the game's final numbers on Steam store and look at its number

I usually Google where saves for a PC game are. Once I find out, then I do my back-ups.

For Steam-games - back-up the game-folder (for Steam games) + bring those saves as back-up w/ me - when I move them elsewhere (usually back-ups go to CD, DVD's, or an external HDD) and them uninstall the game off one of my internal drives.

For Non-Steam games that use installers + have manual patches - back all that stuff up + my saves. Then, of course - delete the game off my main folder.

Games w/ pain-in-the-neck DRM, some games that are huge in size, and/or games w/ lots of DLC/expansions/etc that I don't have yet - those often do not get moved off my internal drive.
I know I'm nearly 24 hours late but you should check this out http://www.gamesave-manager.com/. It's a great program that's helped me stay sane when uplay kept "accidently" deleting my AC4 saves. It's got some nice features like scheduling backups and can save to various cloud services.

SteamDB would work looking at individual titles but can it scan your steam inventory? just asking
If you log in through the site using your Steam credentials, it highlights stuff you already own in green. :)

Theoretically you could then sort things by the supported OS list.

I seem to recall that Ashes had a slick setup for backing up saves to Dropbox. Not sure if it was a program like that or some sort of custom script. Ashes? Care to re-share?

hmm, I see nothing new.

I missed out on a price glitch for a game that I purchased at 75% off.

Carry on.  ::sniff sniff:: :-({|=

Have you played it and if so any thoughts? I got in the beta but I, erm, haven't tried it yet. :p
I tried it, I liked it. I should also mention that they fixed 60 fps cutscene judder during the first beta.

The Crew is quite an ambitious game. I had concerns over their ability to deliver, and if it would run on my venerable 5.5 year old Phenom II X3 720 BE and GTX 660. The good news, it ran just fine, on low/medium pop beta. After a .cfg edit I was able to uncap the (default 30) framerate, and was getting very close to 60.

The handling is a little different, but imo, it's just wonky with all assists on (most games are). Kicking assists to low felt good. I didn't quite get the hang of assists-off, in my short time. The maps are nice and big (recent NFS's have had small maps), and the mission structure is reminiscent of GTA. It looks like all missions (main/side) can be done solo or 2-4 player coop. It's like a different realization of the TDU2 dream. The other thing is there's lots of racing disciplines, street, offroad, track, etc. I have hope and faith in The Crew.
Is there a current list/easy way to check games owned for Mac? School is hooking me up with a "New Macbook." Don't know any more details if some games need a specific OS to run.

Steam tags weren't helpful, said there wasn't enough. All I could find was a probably outdated list and "featured Mac games," obviously being limited.
Mac Steam client lets you filter for Mac games.

I use this for my bulk backup method before uninstall sprees.

Yes, I've explained before, but basically move your game save folders to dropbox, then symbolic link them back where they need to be.

Thanks. Awesome to know. Solves that.
I have a mac, and while I'm currently running Bootcamp and Windows 7 on it, I was Mac exclusive for about a year when I first got into computer gaming. Let me tell you, if you weren't already aware, the selection is very low, and for whatever reason, a lot of games work better on my Windows side than on my Mac end. Admittedly, my computer is nearly 4 years old, but the hardware is solid. Assuming you get a decent model, and you're allowed to do so, I would recommend running bootcamp and installing Windows on your machine. I've yet to run into any real issues on my windows side that I couldn't find a fix for (usually an odd driver or something).

Obviously, the greatest benefit is that you won't have to worry about compatibility, and in truth, I've not actually needed to enter my mac end for many months, now. The last time was just to access my music that I've still neglected to put onto a separate hard drive, and it will most likely be the same reason that I have to enter my Mac partition in the future.

Didn't you con me into buying that last crappy bundle so I could give you Pool Nation?
Someone randomly PM'd me a key on SPUF today so I decided to give it away here. I never asked the guy for Pool Nation but he gave it to me.

"Caution: Make sure to never create a symbolic link inside of a symbolic link. For instance, don’t create a symbolic link to a file that’s contained in a symbolic linked folder. This can create a loop, which can cause millions of problems you don’t want to deal with. Seriously."

That's a corner case that you shouldn't hit with my use case.

Honestly I've never run into issues with symlinks... and I've used them heavily for a long time on *NIX systems. (no clue about the WinDOS implementation)

Anyone find that Steam's changes to its inferface is simply harder to read? I'm fine, but something about that bright green text for comment alerts/changes to inventory was super vibrant and eye-catching.

After having a completely shitty day I thought I'd give some of my extra keys away to maybe reset my karma.  The following are up for grabs, just let me know what you want.

King's Bounty: The Legend

Gnomoria

Realms of Arkania: Blade of Destiny

Inquisitor

Duke Nukem: Manhatten Project

One Finger Death Punch

Tiny & Big in Grandpa's Leftovers

If anyone has a spare Tropico from the glitch earlier today and would be willing to part with it please let me know.  I could throw some cards, rare copies of gun monkeys, or something else your way.
Thanks Captain Urahara for hooking me up!

And good luck finding a Tropico person! Sadly, not one of them myself.

I also saw that you bought Monsters Ate My Birthday Cake recently. What a coincidence. So did I. Except I got it for 99 cents on the Amazon app store not $15 on Steam.

I just PMed Cheaplikeafox, but in the likely case he has run out - I'd love a Tropico 4 glitch pack for the DLC from anyone who still has one.  I'll pay up to a buck for it.  I had actually decided to check the game out and started downloading it the other day, and would have grabbed the DLC yesterday if I hadn't found out about it after the fact.

look like I am late to the Tropico 4 glitch party.  If anyone has a spare copy at cost, I would appreciate it

Zenii gave me one.. YAY!!!! THANK A BUNCH!  Time to build my coconut paradise

Damn missed the glitch, worse I was probably on at the time but not checking CAG like a noob. Already have Tropico 4, but been nice to have it on Steam (plus the probably shitty dlc I'm guessing it came with).

... they turned off the Kalypso sale page and made it redirect to the front page. Ha! They probably don't want a repeat of yesterday's shenanigans.

There's also an unadvertised sale on content for Marvel Heroes:

This weekend's free promo code is ARMOR (Bounty Hunter Boost).
