Although I'm still leaning towards playing The Evil Within, I'm taking that same approach going forward. With my limited time, it only makes sense to spend it playing the best games possible. I'm still gonna play most of what I've already bought though. Of course there'll always be that game that may not be the best but really interests me that I'll talk myself into trying, but I'm gonna be much more selective with my purchases now and in the future.
The only thing I fear is missing a game that I might be interested in despite the reviews. Word of mouth is usually a better indicator in my opinion though anyway. So Shadow of Mordor stays on the list and The Evil Within comes off. I also have games I've bought that I now feel obligated to play and although I'll play them (and want to in most cases) I want to avoid that trap as much as possible. I have 2 PS4 games right now and I'm playing 1 currently. If I'll ever get through my backlog I need to keep this gen in check while also finishing off my PS3\360 games. As of right now the only PS3 game I don't own that I want to play is South Park. I can wait on it.
I doubt they'll start streaming for free since some of them make you log in with your cable provider and if you don't have one or only have internet, they won't let you watch. ABC comes to mind. And the Supreme Court killed Aereo, which I was using so I ended up getting one of those flat amplified indoor antennas that picks up the OTAs. It works well and I'm about 45 miles from the broadcast towers.
They do that now but it's just a matter of time before they do not. HBO was saying just last year that they couldn't offer a streaming option. But now they will.

the only reason I'm toughing it out on survivor is that I don't know how the difficulty unlocks work. I'd hate to finish and only unlock the 3rd out of four difficulties. might be that way anyways. they might be non-stacking. someone knows, I just haven't seen the info and don't care enough to look it up.
guide says

Survival

2nd Casual

3rd Akuma

Number of missable trophies: 12

A local pizza place makes a turkey sandwich on a really nice Italian hero roll. Bacon, a little mayo, lettuce (not ice berg) tomato and Avocado. Might be my lunch tomorrow actually.
Ended up stopping there for lunch today. Met the owners and they are revising the menu. Asked me what else I tried. I said basically this sandwich (at the time I didn't know they were the owners). Hope they don't remove it from the menu. If so I am pretty much done with them. Pizza is ok nothing special so I would have to find a new option. I did try the Sausage and Peppers but they make it with marinara sauce which I don't like.

It was 'free' so im not complaining. also this couple wants to come over and watch me play it, so i might start over on suvivor when they get here and have different save files going, but that seems complicated and id probly accidently over write my casual save, idk.
Can always throw your casual save up into the cloud before you start in case you accidentally overwrite it.

The only thing I fear is missing a game that might be interested in despite the reviews. Word of mouth is usually a better indicator in my opinion though anyway.
That's why whenever I see a game I might be interested in, even if it gets mixed reviews, I toss it up on a private amazon wishlist to keep track of it in case they ever improve it with patching or it is on sale down the line.

Finished up Tomb Raider (83% complete. Could care less about that other 17%)

Started Dynasty Warriors Gundam Reborn. Pretty much the same game as the other three, but I don't care.

Might start AC Liberation or Bioshock Infinite as a side game.

List of games to buy:

The Evil Within

Despite the RE4 similarities it sounds like a lot less fun than that game. With that in mind I think I'm going to pass on this one even at a cheaper price. I figure if I don't want to fall into the same backlog trap this gen I'm going to have to be more mindful of my time and avoid some games.
Eh, the game's been out for a day and none of us have made it more than 1/3 of the way through from the sound of it (15 chapters total). At least wait until we weigh in after beating it.

(Nobody quote just that last sentence.. I'm looking at you, Topside.)

There's a tornado warning here and I'm in a Popeyes. If I see a tornado where do I take shelter? Under the racks of chicken?
 I don't know if Popeye's has big ovens with legs but those suckers are usually bolted to the ground. I'd hold on to one of those.

Rain slowed a bit so I made my way back to work. If a tornado comes we have a fallout shelter in this building...

I mean we really do. Huge vault door and all.

Even though I am not sure the game will get better, I liked it for the part at the end.

I also noticed you removed the "trophies are stupid look at all of mine" line from the sig. That SoM plat must have really changed you :)

See if you can get them to make you the SInner's Sandwich from Deadly Premonition.

tripped over a list of enormous fish spawn locations for let's fish. I'm sure everyone has been dying to know where they are, so posting them here for posterity (i.e. for when tyler encourages everyone to buy it because it's on sale for $1 in a few months):
Cottage Autumn - A little to the right of the pier (its the pier that is a little to the right of where you start)
Highway - A little to the right, near the next set of pillars
Lighthouse - To the Left near the boat
Lodge - To the left of the leftmost wooden pier
Old Bridge - Under the bridge on the right side. Fish seems to hangout between 15-25 feet.
Rocky Heap - Slightly to the left in the middle of the mountain in the background
Ruins - A little to the left. Inside the middle of the ruins
Water Gate - Aim for the middle-right of the big right red door.

You might be right about the game not getting better, especially if it continues to be stingy with ammo. I thought RE4 got better and better as it went along because maxing out your upgrades for guns and whatnot made it super fun to take down the swarm of enemies.

And I removed that line from my sig because I changed the note above my avatar. Maybe I put too much thought into it, but I try not to run my gags too far into the ground (so having similar "this is ironic cuz I don't like trophies" things in my posts would maybe be overkill).

I was able to get a non-winning box without having to take an employee behind the shed on Friday night. Then my son took one of my tacos because he was still hungry after finishing his. So triple loss night for me.

I'm playing on casual, I might be the only one, but I have too much ammo. Im skipping all upgrades, but I am playing it like classic re stingy ammo so I keep melee fighting everyone and only using ammo as a last resort, but that doesn't make sense cuz I have maxed out ammo. and you can make bolts whenever you want, you don't have to wait for a crafting table or anything. but im playing casual......

im used to re4 runs where you only use like a bullet on each enemy and then melee them to death and flashbangs for the spiderheads and then try to run past everyone else. I kept redoing ch2 til I ran past everyone/triple burned/5 stealths in a row. I am trying to knock out the torch/melee kills now as well while im still on casual. yup.

also those safe boxes are pretty crazy random, I opened 5 last night and it was green gel, green gel, green gel, 2 more locker keys and then 3 more green gels. i got 30,000 xp that i won't even use. (til the end when i save spam all the unlockable trophies).

just realized that was my first post since coming back from vacation, spent the last 6 days on the East coast visiting PA, MD, and D.C.

I don't normally write off games but maybe I should start. I mean like I said I don't want to fall into the same traps of buying games because of some imaginary "I need" to get this. RE4 was fun from pretty early on, not saying it won't get better but it's not like I'd be buying it tomorrow anyway. Down the line if I'm short on something to play...the game will only be cheaper anyway.

Amazing punctuation there.

Also, I need some new letters after my name in email signatures. I'm gonna use those.

"Tyler H., PA, MD, and D.C."

Guarantee nobody would ever question or call me out on what those all mean.

There's no way you could melee fight everyone on Normal. Melee is worthless, unless you're talking about stealth kills.

It's too bad RE4 and Evil Within's trophy lists aren't flipped. I'd love to do a bunch of different runs and special things in chapters to get trophies in RE4, that game is awesome.

In Evil Within, I kinda just want to get through it. Who knows, maybe the action will pick up a little in the next few chapters.

The beginning of the 2nd ever comeback from a playoff series 0-3 deficit starts in about 40 minutes! Right?

I literally just gave my wife the blu ray collection of Friends for her birthday, too. Bastards.

Side note: my iPad wants to autocorrect "bastards" to "bass retards."

The action definately picks up. and invisible badguys, yay, lol. i missed 1 key already tho, so am i screwed on that trophy too?

n tyler you need to get 25 melee kills for a trophy anyway, better to do it on normal than any harder difficulty further on...
