Looks like Rainbow Skies has some pretty significant texture upgrades and a deeper character advancement system. The camera is pretty zoomed-in, though; I'm hoping that's something that can be toggled as I really dislike such a limited viewing area and feeling like everything is huge.

One thing about Race the Sun is that each day is a different level and I think that comes over the internets. If you're without WiFi on your Vita I guess you probably can't play? Unless it doesn't really come over the internet, but instead it's based on the date? I should test this out….

I spent an hour figuring out the last ch 10 evil within boss this morning. I think this no upgrades thing has finally come back to haunt me. I've avoided reading guides / spoilers / etc and have a working strategy for the first form, but the second form ... I'm hoping he freezes well or something?
Try this topic from GameFAQs. I'm not sure if your no-upgrade run makes it impossible, but it's worth reading.

I wonder if Tyler, Pharm, and whoever else got Shadow Warrior passed out from playing or something, because I would have expected at least quick impressions of it by now. :???:
It's awesome. So much more fun than Evil Within for me. Fast paced, lots of action, sword combat works great. I'm through Chapter 5, probably about 4 or 5 hours in. Was up to 94 viewers last night too, it was cool.

Yeah hopefully there's a PS3 version as well, I don't see why there wouldn't be.  PS4 would be way better, but PS3 would be fine.

Vice City would have have been way cooler though.

My strategy was to shoot it until it died, but I had upgraded weapons.

Not sure if this has been answered already but you give them the account info and let them download the game and set their ps4 to primary, once they are done downloading they should play on their main account and never log into the account the game was purchased on. You would then go into the account settings on the sen website and reset the devices associated with the account (under media and devices--->deactivate all). This can only be done once every 6 months. Once you have done that, login on your ps4 and make your ps4 the primary. Yo can both both play the game on your main accounts now.
rpg is gonna be so pissed at you!

How did these guys miss the PS4 boat? In the blog it says it's coming to PS3 and Vita.

Like for Vice City. A lot of people seem to like San Andreas best, but I was disappointed with it when it came out (not to say I didn't play it to death and enjoy every minute of it). The map was too big for it's own good, I think. If you ended up wrecking your car in the middle of the woods or something enjoy the 10 minute walk until you found some other vehicle. Plus Tommy Vercetti was the man. And that Vice City soundtrack was the shit.

That phantom things sounds complicated. Plus when I was trying to make a dummy PSN account I had to put in an address. I found a website that generates fake addresses, but I guess they aren't realistic enough because it complained that the zipcode didn't match the county or something. Plus all this sounds so sketchy. I thought it was going to be something straight forward. I think I'll just buy games solo….

It is a little more complicated for the PS4 due to the primary console wrinkle they threw in, but it is pretty easy and if the other person is trustworthy, you are fine.

The game has been in development for a while, but yeah I absolutely agree. Other than Natural Doctrine I don't think there's a single sRPG on the system yet, so the more limited library would be pretty helpful to sales I'd expect.

I'm somewhat impressed that 2 people have already platted The Legend of Korra on PS3 according to PSNP.

It unlocked at midnight yesterday and the campaign is 4-5 hours long. Granted you have to run through it at least twice in order to beat Extreme, but somebody sitting at home yesterday could have knocked it out in a long day.

Playstation TV is taking a beating in the press and on amazon reviews. I guess that saves me $100, but has anyone here with one had a better impression of it? The remote play sounds like a laggy bust, vita games look terrible and have awkward compromises for the touch stuff, etc. Or are you getting better results?

RP has always not worked great over a router for some reason. The typical recommendation is to connect directly to the PS4 with a Vita, bypassing the router. I'm not sure why that is, but I'd assume that the Vita TV has the same issue.

Whoops, I missed that Therm is playing on PS3, duh.
Yeah. I wonder if there's a substantial difference. The game looks pretty good on PS3, and the file size is 2.6GB vs 2.7GB. I can't imagine the texture were improved for PS4, but perhaps it runs at a higher framerate or resolution. I can't find anything to say what either version runs at, though.

cool, thanks. his first phase is almost the same as mine (there's a van you can hide behind and snipe for all shots and he rarely seems to look back there). I didn't think about using the rooms as a holdout fort and just taking the throw damage as a trade, so I'll try that. my biggest problem is my shitty stamina - I can't run long enough to evade the one hit kill. hopefully tomorrow I'll be on to 11. mpaullin - after 10 do the chapters get shorter/tougher/etc? looks like I'm not going to finish this week but maybe you have some good news for me?

RP is good if you have the setup for it. Even the little slip of paper they put in the box about remote play says to do it wired. My house is wired with cat 5. My ps4 is upstairs in my media room, the ps tv is downstairs in my bedroom. They are both connected via wire on my network.

I have no problem with remote play. Is there a little lag? Yes, but not any worse than when I play on my vita over wifi. Does it work well enough? Yup. Would I play every game on RP? Nope. Destiny is what I am currently playing mostly, and its just fine for pve. Especially the little side mission stuff. The graphics downgrade is not that bad and overblown by most people I think. Then again I am using it on a 720p 32 inch TV and not sitting that close to it.

Admittedly I have yet to try out a vita game, but I mostly got it to play RP and not vita games, I have a vita for those.

I would buy a vita tv again at this point.

Knocked out two longer games recently, so gonna work on a few shorter ones. Help me pick my next rpg to start after that:

Tales of Xillia

Tales of Symphonia

Ni No Kuni

Okami

Final Fantasy X

Valkyria Chronicles

Went through the first chapter of Dead Nation last night on the Vita and it was pretty fun. Enemies are a smidge tiny, but I didn't find it too bad. Granted I only played on the easiest difficulty to get a feel for it. Will start again with it upped. May try for that plat, but I'm never a fan of multiple playthroughs. I'm also down for co-op if anyone's interested.

I got one at launch from Amazon but haven't opened it yet, I'm sort of thinking that maybe there is a reason for that. I haven't read any reviews or anything but not sure I can justify the device. Assuming there will be updates though over time like everything Sony. I'll probably just open it at some point.

Well chapter 12 is pretty short and it's looking like 15 will be too. The others aren't especially longer or shorter than what came before, or more difficult. Chapter 14 felt tough because there were a lot of traps, but there were also a few opportunities for stealth in which you avoid fights altogether. So... yeah, probably not good news. If you're worried about BBY's trade in value dropping, I would expect that to last a few days longer than the end of the week. Even if it does drop, it won't be dramatically.

The more I play ACIV and the deeper I get into the game the more I'm enjoying it. I might even have to look into Unity if it scores well, only damning thing is these games are LONG! I'm at like 21% with about a 3rd of the main missions completed.

It is kinda sketchy to me too, especially the phantom part of it. I'm dipping my toe in the water with a resell this week though. Rentals/Timeshares are the best though.

This is weird because I've always seen Okami referred to as an rpg. You guys telling me it has no rpg elements whatsoever?
I've never thought Zelda to be an RPG game at all. Okami is a lot like Zelda. So in my opinion, not an RPG at all.

You may upgrade a couple weapons or abilities but that's it. It's an action-adventure game.

Got it. I guess I do use the rpg label a little more liberally than I should. When you think about it the majority of games these days have at least light rpg elements of some kind, but that doesn't make them all rpgs.
