My Hunter has run the Raid I believe 4 maybe 5 times now and I have gotten a chest piece, a cloak and found verdict. So out of 16-20 checkpoints and 16-20 chests, I have gotten 3 things. I am essentially 3 for 40.

The game really is telling me to just stop playing for now. I thought I would have fun with my Hunter after maxing out my Warlock but not so much. The game isnt even really what brings me back to play it, it is my friends. If my friends list migrated to Advanced Warfare I would be playing that each night but they haven't! I have been sending them all subliminal messages to at least get MCC haha

Speaking of Master Chief Collection, I am super stoked to see that they lowered the day one patch to only 15GB ANDDDD if you preload the digital copy, you can preload the update now as well. So with the altered release window now set for midnight Eastern, I will get to literally start playing out of the gate right at 11pm!! : DD

Yea i'm picking up MCC and Assassins Creed next week. So i may be done with Destiny till the DLC drops.

I hear you there. Even though I am just getting to 25 with my Titan, I think I am going to start a second character too. I got a legendary helmet for a Warlock the other day, so I'll be creating a Warlock.

I got the vision of confluence yesterday, but I already have Atheons Epilogue and the Mythoclast so i doubt i'll even use it.

It definitely has its place in your arsenal though. Those are my top 3 primaries, Epilogue, Mythoclast and Confluence. Leveled up and doing precision damage Confluence does out damage the Epilogue slightly when dealing with non Void or Solar shielded enemies.

I have all three maxed and really am just waiting for a reason to use the Mythoclast as it still feels slightly underpowered in PvE

Yea, the vision of confluence is great, especially once you unlock the full auto upgrade.

I need to get my 2 other characters to 20 so I can work on maxing out these weapons with all 3 characters. My titan is 18 and I have some legendary armor and exotic gloves ready for her.

I still say they need to have like one main hub ship that all your characters live in so when you chose your character you are instantly prompted to choose the gear you are going to go out with. Then when you are done playing and turn off, all of that stuff goes back so when you pick your character again, it prompts you to pick from all your gear again.

Yea, that would work, they should also let you do all your bounty/cryptarch/postmaster stuff right from the startup area as well. If you want to go to the tower as a social hub that is fine, but you should be able to hop on, get your character setup & bounties without having to go to there every time.

Eh, I feel like if they implement too much in the startup then it really eliminates the need for the tower at all. While convenience wise I would prefer that too, in terms of the social aspect of the game in general I feel that would hurt it.

 
The real issue is having to go to Orbit for everything.

They just need to give us the option to choose our next destination without being forced to go to Orbit first.

I don't think I have ever socially interacted with anyone at the tower, unless you count randomly dancing to kill time while others swapped out bounties & weapons, lol. If I need someone for a fireteam I look here or on one of the team finder sites.

Yea, that would be nice, but I'm sure having to go to orbit every time has to do with trying to break up the long load times in the game. Would you rather sit there for a minute while it loads from Cosmodrome to Mars or would you prefer 2 - 30 second loads instead? Either way I hope optimizing these load times and decreasing the time it takes to get into a game is one of the things they are working on.

 
What would have been cool if we were in orbit inside our actual ship, you know, having our 3 characters hang out with access to our stash a la Mass Effect. For central hub they could have incorporated all of that into a more organized trade hub with an expanded vendor marketplace and news screens flashing "Breaking News: Increased Hive Activity Beneath...Strike Action Needed" signaling the dailies/weeklies. Something with more personality, so that you get a better feeling that this is an expansive universe and not just 3 factions derping over a 10 mile radius.

Speaking of expansive universes, I am looking forward to N7 day news tomorrow.

Yeah, it is a serious pain to have to go from the Tower to reloading another character and being in orbit, then having to go to the Tower yet again to switch weapons. Hopefully they streamline that in some way. One solution would be to have a custom setup for each character such that every time you load that character it gets the same weapons (even if that means taking them from another one). Right now I have 2 1/2 maxed out Icebreakers. It would be nice to have had only one. My other weapons (Vision of Confluence, Atheon's Epilogue, Fatebringer, Ghallajorn, etc) I swap around all the time.

And yeah, Vision of Confluence is awesome in regular PvE. Not so much the Raid, where I use Atheon's (except VoC is better for the Oracle sniping bit). But for everything else in the game, I mostly use VoC. Though I've been leveling up Fatebringer recently and I like that too. I might even try to use that on my next Raid.

I'll have to look into Vex Mythoclast. I thought it was a fusion rifle (but Broly says it is a primary). Edit: It is a fusion rifle. Those are special weapons not primaries, right?

So the hard mode Titan helm has a perk that gives you extra super energy for killing "minions" (basically any PvE enemy). That is awesome as my Super fills very quickly. That will be really nice during the Raid. So now I'm trying to max that and my Armamentarium so I can get back to 30 (I took a step back to 28 when I switched those around).

I have definitely hit the wall in this game. I have not been on much the last week, and when I do log on I am not really having fun playing anymore...everything feels like a chore now. Do the daily story, do the weekly's, do bounties to level up gear. I probably won't be on much until the dlc, assuming I buy it. It was fun while it lasted :)

I fully hit that point today. I raided today for one piece of gear (and didn't get it). After doing that dance, I just went "and then what am I going to do if I get it?"

Yup. Absolutely nothing. There is shit for me to do.

Guess it's a good time to realize that though.

Hmmm... And here I am just about to drop $90 on the digital version with DLC pass (and sell/trade my disc copy) while others are bailing.

I fully understand why people would bail though. If I just had my Titan and was at the point I'm at now there would be nothing to do. I have maybe one more night to level up the alternate armor, then I'm sitting at 30 with the best exotic equipped and really nothing to do except maybe chase down Vex Mythoclast and the hard mode pulse rifle.

But since I started characters for the other 2 classes I do have more Raid armor to hunt down. Now, if by some miracle, I manage to get both of them maxed out plus get the special weapons I would definitely take a break from the game - maybe just run Nightfall/Weekly and leave it at that. But I still think I'm down for the new DLC and especially the new Raid that comes with it.

I'm also not a CoD or even Halo person in the slightest, so there is really nothing coming out that will distract me gaming-wise except maybe Smash Bros. and LBP 3. I just preordered Assassin's Creed Unity for Xbox One for my son but I'm not sure I'll ever play that. I still haven't finished Brotherhood ;). As for Dragon Age - meh, I'll wait for the super-deluxe GotY on that like I did for the first game. I never played the second. Hell, I still have Skyrim in my backlog and if I went to any other game it would probably be that.

By the way, make sure you get in on the Best Buy GCU deal. It is free (2 year membership) with any phone activation and some $6.99 Net10 "Bring Your Own Phone" activation kits work. I just got one this evening and extended my GCU to 2017. I've been playing Destiny so much I've been neglecting other CAG deals and missed out on some good ones (like the cheap Mario Tennis at Best Buy). I thought I missed this one too but it is still good.

Are we still good for the CAG group Raid on Tuesday though? I definitely want to run my Warlock and Hunter through at least normal to get the rest of the standard gear. We were a little light last week and barely scraped our 6 together, whereas in previous weeks we had too many it seemed. Hopefully we can keep it together for a few more weeks.

I seem to have locked myself up as an alternate at least for this group that likes to run it on Hard so I can get by with them if the CAG team falls apart. But I do like our super-quick runs on Normal.

I'm going to go to Shadow of Mordor probably and the new Halo collection (so that I can finally play them all). I'll still play Destiny, but not religiously anymore.

I will keep doing it until I get my boots. There might be Tuesday's when I'm not around, but I'll try to be on. Between wrapping up Shadows of Mordor (funny, phone corrected that to Shadows of Mormon) and then Halo, Unity, and GTA V releasing I may not play daily. But for me Destiny feels like an evergreen title I will keep coming back to.
 
I think I'm reaching that wall myself. My hunter has most raid gear but the chest, my Titan has none but is at lvl 28, and the warlock is only at lvl 12. I just don't have it in me to solo run missions to get warlock up to 20 anymore or grind missions to lvl up armor/weapons. I tried to run the daily today but got disconnected half way. That just deflated my drive to start it again. Stayed on just to get some spin metal and do a public event. Which only had me on for another 20 mins before I moved on to another game. I'll still get on to see if anyone wants a partner to run with or on Tuesday I will be on to run the raids with others.
 
It's a prime time to thank Destiny for the two months it held our souls hostage and learn how to remove a disc from our consoles again. (no seriously mine's been in there since launch day)

Hah - I did pop mine out last week to play Sunset Overdrive for an hour. But then I went right back to Destiny.

I had to sprint to my train this morning because I was busy checking Xur when I woke up only to be disappointed.

And I have the digital copy of Destiny so no need for me to take out the disc to stop playing ; P

UGH.

So last night I am playing Call of Duty and the Supply Drops kept giving me all Elite gear which is the rarest in the game for those that don't play it. Before going to bed, I was talking to my buddy who was trying the Nightfall solo with his level 27 Hunter. I decided that hell I will jump on and run it through with him really quickly then go to bed. I havent done it yet with either of my Warlocks so maybe with my luck I will finally get something??

Well, here is my friend who was the first of our group to be 30 with his Titan and then made a Warlock and ALMOST INSTANTLY finished that off to level 20 and then now JUST created this Hunter and already got Raid gear on his first attempt.... I joked with him how there is very little I want as a reward and that watch, the game will be awesome and finally award me Gjallarhorn since all my buddies have it and I am the lowly one without it because when Xur originally had it I thought using an exotic heavy would be a waste (I was wrong haha).

Anyway I am sure you see where this is going. I jump in help out my buddy by picking him up like 6 times and killing a bunch with my Warlock.... and there it is.. he gets ANOTHER GJALLARHORN. That I believe is his 3rd or 4th one to have gotten now. Freaking awesome. He literally just lost his shit when he saw that and just was laughing uncontrollably. Then there I was with the freaking Vanguard Pulse Rifle.....

COD awarded me with awesome gear to keep playing... and then Destiny just slaps me in the face. Now is not the time to pull this crap Destiny! Gah.

Also, as stoked as I am for MCC, I think right now I am way more excited for Dragon Age. Everything lately has been shooting. Destiny, COD, Sunset Overdrive, Evolve Alpha. I feel like for the past few months I have done nothing but shot things in videogames (besides the random couple times I played Nidhogg and Volgarr and stuff). But yeah I am really stoked to just have a massive expansive world to explore and have a full party and not just shoot things haha.

 
I'll probably still raid this next week, then take a week or so off since I will be away for vacation plus the holiday.  Titan is level 19 so hoping I can push him into raid level quickly.  Will have to farm a ton of relic iron to get my hunter to 30. 

Once nice thing about doing the digital upgrade deal is that you can play something else on XB1 while you do some of the grinding on the 360 (or vice-versa).  That has taken some of the monotony out of the game for me. 

What is wrong with the Sunbreakers?

Nothing!!

They are my favorite Exotic armor period and work PERFECTLY with the Sunsinger class. The only thing is that those gauntlets have been offered by Xur like a million times now and we are yet to see a few other Warlock Exotics every sold by Xur still.

 
Don't buy sunbreakers this week - the stat rolls are terrible (72?). You should be aiming for 100-110 on non-chest exotics and 130-140 on chest exotics for good rolls.

Didn't even look closely at the stats since I already have them. I wonder each time they just get progressively worse from Xur haha

That's a little early for me. But if you need a sub later in the Raid let me know and maybe I can hop on then. My Hunter still needs the Atheon reward (though there's nothing there worth getting at this point on Normal - will still do it though if needed). I could also use this as a Relic training run since I feel like I need to be able to handle that and never have other than cleansing duty while cheesing the Templar.

I do still have the Hard mode save on Atheon if anyone wants to try that legit or cheese it or whatever. I would love to pull the Hunter helm or a Mythoclast from it. The key I think on hard mode Atheon runs is to unload a rocket launcher on the portal mobs first, before trying to take them on with the relic. I'm pretty sure that is what the people I completed it with did. Then also the people with Gjallarhorn do the same to Atheon. I have one that I got from the Nightfall too (sorry Broly!). Everyone else sit in the bubble at mid-platform and unload Icebreaker or whatever (rocket launchers from there are probably not a good idea with so many people crowded together).

I was doing a Warsat public event yesterday and was making it easy by shooting each group that came at us with my Gjallarhorn. But then one of the other players decides to jump right in front of me as I fire my rocket. Insta-death for me of course and he doesn't get a scratch ;).

Would like to play a little tonight if possible. I already did the weekly solo but I would be willing to try the nightfall and the daily.
