What's weird is the guy said 1 and 2 were coming to Vita and PS3. 1 is already available at least for PS3, though, so the wording was a bit confusing.

Just got to the Tim Shafer part of the stream. fuck off, asshole.
It was confusing. This caused me to prematurely (first time, I swear) jump to the conclusion that this was going to be a special retail release of these two amazing games packaged together, with trophies.

Just noticed this item:

They haven't announced another GoW game yet, but I can't imagine they'd be bringing it back up for no reason.
I watched it, it was just a retrospective. A panel of designers from the games congratulating themselves on how innovative everything they did was.

It was actually pretty good.

It's too bad they discontinued the series in America. I would have loved to play the PSP one.

Out of all of them I think V was my favorite one. Had a lot of cool places to explore and I loved a lot of the characters you could play from.
I am ashamed to admit I have not played IV or V, though I do own both. I just don't own a PS2. :/

I know IV is shit on by fans, but I will still trudge through it some day. I am really psyched to get to V someday though. I have heard your opinion voiced by many fans, so I am confident it will live up to the high expectations I have.

This dude who plays Captain Boomerang on Arrow needs to be in more stuff.  He was Ashur in Spartacus and pretty much steals any scene he's in.

Oh, and I know you guys already talked about it (and I hadn't seen it yet so I didn't read the spoilers, and I'm too lazy to go back and find them now), but that Arrow/Flash crossover was fucking awesome.  The Flash one, not the Arrow one.  This Arrow one's just been OK.

So what's your beef with Shafer? Or did he do some big widely known thing that I'm unaware of?
Are you familiar with Steam's Early Access program? It basically allows studios to put games up for sale that are in beta status, to let the game purchases help fund further development. DF made a bunch of promises and then completely fucked over the buyers on one of the biggest titles in the EA program.

Apparently he also has a pretty bad history of budget and timing problems, so you'd think DF would have had some mechanism in place to help prevent it. Nope.

Right after this whole bunch of nonsense DF put two new titles up on EA. So yeah...not a good thing to give your money to.

V was pretty much what everyone wanted. Story was great, gameplay was great (army battles were sweet), and the character you recruited were really interesting and fun to use. I hope that they at least bring the ps2 version to ps3 as I would replay it since I don't play on my ps2 anymore.

I personally really enjoyed IV even though it got ragged on. I mean it was pretty bland, story felt like it went no where but again the character recruiting made up for it. Still no where near as bad as Tactics was.

I thought that Flash episode kinda sucked. Arrow was great in the episode and I watched the first episode of that earlier today. It seems a lot better than The Flash.

Isn't his studio the one where they had a kickerstarter for a game and then got like 15x more than the expected budget yet only released half the game?

I believe that's Broken Age, yeah. I imagine the only reason the 2nd part is even being released is because Sony threw a bunch of money at it to help get it finished.

Yup, it is. I don't care, Tim Schafer gave me Monkey Island, so as far as I am concerned, I owe him money still after pumping Day 1 money into everything he does.

The Twitch stream doesn't show it, but I kind of hope there were a bunch of people yelling boos and complaints about the FF7 nonsense they pulled.

I wonder if they'll still use the crappy midi versions of the PC soundtrack.

What this article fails to mention is that he is entitled to our money. And our cars. And our women.
Now I'm curious about Monkey Island. Never played those. The only games I've played by him were Psychonauts and Brutal Legend, neither of which I thought impressive.

Ehh I'll still get it. Day one if it has trophies. It's not my favorite rpg but it is the one I spent the most hours on. Probably 500+ hours.

More like stunned silence. They're porting the PC release that came out a year or two ago and is available on Steam (with achievements), and that got the PS1 sound files eventually.

Did you play Psychonauts to the end? It is a game that I felt that got better as it progressed, with each new level topping the previous, rather than like some games that tend to start off awesome and just kind of drag on eventually.

No, got bored and quit. Don't recall how far in. It was a ways.

Well same here chicken and waffles is one of the best anytime foods. My name is off a quote from Speed Racer.

I played The Cave, Costume Quest 2, and Brutal Legend. Neither of them really amazed me.
I forgot The Cave was also DF. That one was boring as hell, too. I'd played Trine 1 previously and The Cave just felt so shitty in comparison.

Yeah, I wish they would at least let us add the graphics mod like on steam.

Decided to take advantage of that 30% off used games under $20 at gamestop to pick up some of the last few rarer disc only PS3 games I've been interested in, got Lollipop Chainsaw and Nier (disc only unfortunately).

Yeah. I never really understood why the acronym acts like the name is Un Charted.
Also back when there was only the first game they wouldn't have called it "Uncharted 1" they would have simply called it "Uncharted." Now follow that train of thought to its logical conclusion...

Poster 1: What do you think of Uncharted?

Poster 2: I love U so much

I loved Psychonauts and Stacking. Broken Age Part 1 is one of my favorite games this year. Costume Quest was ok and I have fond memories of Monkey Island. I also had fun with Spacebase (but my opinion is a little moot on that because I got a press copy). As far as Broken Age is concerned, it's not like people have to buy part 2. The funds from people buying it allowed them to pay for development for part 2 and people who bought it get part 2 free when it releases. Seems like a non-issue to me, but maybe I'm just used to the early access/alpha fund practice of modern PC games.

I've rarely been disappointed by Double Fine so I'll keep buying what they put out there

Anyone else with Dustforce want to try the multiplayer tonight? No one on TT has the on MP trophy yet, so high points should be on that one. Sounds like MP is dead so should be easy to get a game together.
I might be able to do this around 9 PM PST. What does it entail?

Never mind, looks like it's a boosting trophy.

Still not sure about No Man's Sky. The footage they showed today was kind of iffy in regards to scale. Nice idea to go from planet to planet and everything but the planets seem really small.

Costume quest is a great homage to old school rpgs that I love. And it was quick. I liked stacking but might be partly due to the plus freebie. Hated psychonaughts. Double fine is just okay overall.

Heading off to the fireworks display tonight that is in celebration of another awesome winter in Florida while we make fun of all of you northerners. Especially you Zimm.

I think they did that just for the trailer. Here is an extended look at the game which immediately shows off larger planets

Trophy says "score a flawless victory in a four player online match." I haven't played any MP yet so I'm not sure what it involves, but there is a King of the Hill & Survival option. And you can create custom private rooms so we wouldn't have to have randoms. Just not exactly sure needs to be done to finish it.

I think No Man's Sky is going to be a very polarizing game. For me, it seems like the kind of game I have always dreamed of and I sincerely hope that it lives up to what I imagine it will be like. But I'm someone who really enjoys very experimental, "artsy" games. I play through Proteus every few months because I love exploring Proteus. NMS seems like that same sense of exploration on a gigantic scale that I think I will lose a lot of hours too.

I can also see why someone would look at NMS and not see any kind of value in it at all. It's going to cause arguments, and it's going to cause discussion. It's crazy ambitious and I really hope it pays off for them

We'll see. I'm pretty interested in the concept, but so far I'm not really understanding what there is to the game besides exploration. If that's all there is, that's fine...but I think it'll die off really really fast. Stuff like Stanley Parable does okay, I guess, but I can't imagine the average gamer is super interested in what basically amounts to a walking simulator even if you're "walking" in space. Interesting environments alone aren't enough to keep most people coming back for more.

I guess rumors were true that SF5 is a legit console exclusive and not just timed. Boyes just said PS4 is the only console it's coming to.
SF5 may be PS4 exclusive, but i wouldn't be surprised if Ultra SF5 (totally, completely not the same game) will probably be available on both consoles.

Good point. The way they played up the cooperation between Capcom and Sony hinted at a lot of involvement on Sony's part in the development/production process, but there's really no telling how everything worked out there and whether there's a chance for future variations to be more open.

Not really going to keep posting videos all night, because if people are into NMS they have probably already looked into it like I have, but they are showing off little bits of the gameplay at each event/interview. I think it is helping to fuel the long term hype for the game
