IDK,  the PS3 was my first console in many years.  I bought one with backwards compatibility.  I did play some PS2 games but not a ton.  There was enough PS3 games at the time (I bought the MGS4 bundle) to keep me busy.  At this time I think for the non hardcore gamer there is more then enough PS4 games to play.  Even if there isn't that window is closing.  If this came out at launch in November 2013 I could see it bridging some gap.  How many people who haven't owned a console in years are really clamoring for PS3 games on their PS4 console?  Some of the more popular game series have been remastered already anyway.

Right, just like we're probably not the audience for paying 2-3X the price of a redbox by renting a movie through the cable box, but they still make plenty of money selling that to people who value convenience / instant gratification over frugalness.

The hulk ones are genuinely fun, so that's a good place to start. I think the ghost rider ones are too.

Edit - also if you aren't already make sure you're using the d pad. Some of the hcf missions might be easier with the stick, so experiment with both if you get stuck.

Don't know if you have realized but remasters are selling better then some new games. The amount of people who are coming to Sony for the very first time with PS4 is massive and why it is selling so well. Allowing them to play 110+ PS3 games they didn't have a chance to for $15 a month (the 3 month deal versus the one month) is a great deal.

Like Tyler said, it really isn't something targeted at us but the people who again didn't experience PS3. The price I believe is perfect when compared to the individual rental prices and other services that are similar (Gamefly regularly $20, Red Box $2 a day) not to mention the convenience of not leaving the house or waiting for something to ship.

except there really isn't a better place to do what they are offering. Redbox is $2 a day for games... not to mention gas if you have to drive far and the really limited selection. Game fly is regularly $20 for one game, I understand you can get that price down GATOR, but for the normal joes out there that see the $20 price, paying $20 for instant streaming can seem like a deal. That is exactly who Sony is targeting, new PS4 users and Gamefly's user base. If they succeed there then the program can be profitable

And to the people who said they had trouble with Now streaming, not sure what is wrong, but mine was nearly flawless, may have been the 20 down and 5 up speed I have.

I do think the service, as it stands now, doesn't deliver enough value for the price. There is the audience that you mentioned, but for this service to be successful, they are going to need to go beyond that audience and I don't see much of a reason for anyone to do so, as of right now.

I bought Tomb Raider remastered. Almost bought GTA 5 too and probably will eventually. I have Tomb Raider on PS3 (PS+) and beat it on XBox360. How much of these sales are just people who loved the these block buster type games and either didn't get a chance to play them on PS3/Xbox360 or did play them but want the complete edition?

I guess time will tell but I think the average PS4 only casual gamer doesn't care about a vast majority of those 110+ games in PS3 res on their PS4.

Even if the sales are good (don't know myself and don't care enough to look), it doesn't really negate his point. He mentioned last gen games that were not upgraded, while all of those were.

Chewy pointed out unupgraded above. How many people are going to look at PS Now to play The Last of Us, which is probably the most heavily acclaimed game on the service, when you can get the upgraded for PS4 version? Saying sales of upgraded PS3 games have been huge is really apples and oranges to how well the originals will do on a service like PS Now.

I do not think anyone has really mentioned the correct market for this subscription plan. It is more likely to be the people who have a TV that supports PS Now who do not even own a console that might see it as a valid way to have games to play.

That is true, but since it is just starting on PS4 we won't know that market. But I am sure once it comes it will make it profitable for Sony and a successful program.

I know I will be using the 7 day free trial to get some easy Platinums... :)

Even if there is a market for PS Now I dont know how there are enough people in the world with appropriate internet speed to handle streaming game play.  And even if there were Sony servers would crash due to the traffic right?

I almost fell asleep during my meeting several times this morning.  It was on telepresence so they could see me too.  I hope I wasnt head bobbing too bad!

 
seeing some of the comments on the PS blog are kinda funny, people asking for $5 a month...

What price then for you guys would you possible bite?  Being reasonable of course.  Knowing what Netflix costs and Gamefly I would sign up for $12 a month even with a backlog, a ps3, and having played most of the games.

Apparently we are both too damn old to be staying up until 1:30 to play GTA on a school night. It was rough getting up and going to work this morning. Thank jeebus that my kid was out of school today still so I did not have to be out by a particular time.

 
PS Now is a big question mark but...Redbox is going up to $3 a day for game rentals tomorrow. Gamefly always took too long to get me games. I just had to hammer a bit on Shipwreck because he tends to just bash anything Sony. I don't really even like the rental model but $20 or $45 for 3 months doesn't seem like crazy town to me. It's niche for people that want to play PS3 stuff on the PS4 that only had a 360. I'm guessing the service will grow over time too. I'm sure Microsoft is taking notes and will follow suit. I might consider it at some point or try it out...might be nice to catch up on some PS3 backlog on the Vita.

If the ones from the image are the only games available, I wouldn't pay anything. Pac-Man Championship Edition DX is the only game I see on that list I have not played and would like to.

This for me, people are freaking out like it is an insane number... it really isn't that bad. The price is just outside for people who are big gamers and experienced a lot of this, but for regular people getting the PS4 who may use gamefly or redbox, this makes sense.

If they could also target some families, parents could pay for this monthly and not have to buy games for their kids if they are fine with not getting the latest and greatest. you just pay the monthly cots and the kids have hundreds of games to play.

I wouldn't subscribe at any price because I have the vast majority of those games and the ones I don't have generally aren't of high enough quality for me to spend my time on. I've been a CAG for years and filled out my PS3 collection very nicely during that time. PS Now isn't for people like me.

 
I grabbed one of those Gamestick consoles at Gamestop yesterday. I had a $10 rewards so it came to $7.46. It's $17 in store. Anyway I already flashed it to be vanilla android. The process was super simple. Always wanted an HDMI android stick on the cheap. I like that it takes a micro SD card as well. If anyone is looking for a cheapo option for XBMC or to watch Netflix seems worth it for $17. Plus you could load it up with emulators and google play games and play that shit as well. 

 
I still think it's crazy we get 72 long term rentals for $50 every year with PS+.  That is still an insane value.  Maybe people were expecting that equal sort of insanity with PS Now.

Probably need to change your MTU or make router port forwarding changes or add a specific combination of items to your cart and redownload to relicense the thing or hell just recompile the ps4 OS kernel with different threading parameters because these are the kinds of totally sane fixes coming out of Sony lately.
 
Here is something Sony could really do and dominate.  Bundle PS Now and PSVue for one decent price similar to other cable companies.... they would dominate!  Like $80-$90 a month for cable and PSnow?

Got orientation for my new job today, then tomorrow it's back to working a full time job.

No more PSNot for me during the day, no more freebies for me during the day.

Seriously though, I think I'll probably be a little depressed for awhile because I won't be with my kid during the day like I was. I've been trying not to think about it :(
