I feel like someone should just close this thread, it use to contain the best deals on the Internets, but after they blocked the regional gifting its gone completely off topic.
Surprisingly, it's largely on topic. Video game deals, digital retailers, bundles, upcoming games, system requirements, etc. All at least tangentially related to Steam. Completely off topic would be six pages about cars or ocelots or immigration reform or something.

Or stuff like this.

Oh the good old days. Where I could just post jiggle after jiggle without a care in the world.

"Sir, You are Being Hunted" is on sale for 3.99. Nobody will buy it because wait for bundle. Anime sale was discussed ad nauseum Thurs-Sat.

Ok, now what?

I think it all depends on what you want to play, more or less.

How much regular RAM do you have?

If you want to play any of the newer stuff, especially in the AAA realm - you might be looking at upgrading at least processor + vid-card...and maybe also even your mobo, if it comes to that. Hell, you might even want to build a new PC.

Basically, your AMD card's around a NVidia 560 (non-Ti). You're in a similar boat w/ me, vid-card wise - I have a NVidia 560 Ti 1 GB VRAM. I don't know much longer my vid-card can cut it, since I do like to buy newer titles.

I have a i7 950 - so, that might keep be kicking for a little bit longer...especially if I upgrade the vid-card.

If you want to play any of the newer stuff - you're looking to upgrade massively (new processor + new vid card; might also need new mobo) or build a new PC.

Many of the new games seem to want at least i5's or i7's; and want 1GB VRAM or 2GB VRAM for the minimum. Some of these newer games recommend even for VRAM of 2GB, 3GB (see ACU) and sometimes even 4GB (see Shadow of Mordor).
My 6870 has 2GB

Out of curiosity, which gen i3.
i3-2100.

My plan is buying a new PC for me and giving this one to the kids. But that may take some time, I can't spend that kind of money now

Unless you get an insane buy - I suggest you don't buy a PC, unless you're going to a shop that specializes in building them + you customize what you want for parts/pieces.

I'd suggest building one yourself, though - especially if in the past you've upgraded or changed parts before (i.e. like video-cards, RAM, etc). Do some research, bone-up on how to build one. Plus, if you can buy parts in sales - it can be a hell of A LOT cheaper than buying from even a local mom + pop shop that knows how to custom-build monster PC's.

How is that? I heard it was actually a pretty decent little short artsy romp. Is it worth getting if its on sale/budled cheap?
I liked A Bird's Story. It's short and can be beat in an hour, so you want to know that going in. It will likely be bundled at some point, like everything.

Kind of reminds me why I haven't gotten 30 Flights of Loving. Heard that game can be beaten in like 15 minutes or something.

You can just ignore the thread.

Just block all images and videos, turn off sigs and scroll until you see something that looks like it might be a hint of a deal. Honestly, it's the only way to tolerate this cesspit of circle jerk and hurp durp.

Honestly, if someone just wants deals and nothing else go to Reddit. The mods are self righteous euroasshats, the people there get all omagerd u hurt my whore feelings if they get minus votes from anonymous people on the internet, and they post dumb shit like 10% off "sales" for new release indie games that will be in a bundle next week, but it's one list at a glance, 95% PC shit and you don't have to read inane chatter unless you intentionally click through to the comments.

That was just a way of saying it. I usually build my own PCs. Sometimes invite a couple of friends that understand a bit more about air cooling to help me with the cables and internal layout, because if it's by me, I'll just leave a mess inside xD

Circle jerking into a cesspit sounds unsanitary :shame:

This seriously, this. Or for the truely lazy, cheapshark.

Sounds like a good plan.

Guys this thread is off topic. Can we please stay on track and discuss the one deal per day that gets featured on Steam? The fact that you people can't focus on discussing nothing but a single game deal for 24 hours really shows the level of ADD in this thread.

Clearly if there's no deals to be discussed, one should devolve into mindless animals flinging shit all over the place. Shame there isn't an off topic section of this website to us when there are no deals to be had or discuss.

There's a PC section but nobody posts there. So people post where other people who have similar interests are posting which is the natural thing to do. And it's always been an open conversation that veers off on tangents so that isn't a new thing. If Cheapy or Trakan or whoever had a problem with it they can always intervene but (Lazytown Pedo-incidents aside) they haven't thus far and it's been years.

If you really are troubled by it and think it's a violation of some CAG rules then report it to the mods.

i would love if there was a thread titled "shit flinging"

I think Amazon had as many good deals as Steam did the last month.
Only one of which wasn't just a Steam price match.

I think my most down-voted comment in that subreddit was "Does anyone else find it odd that a Steam version of an EA game is being sold outside of Steam?"

Admittedly maybe it's a generational thing and I don't get how it works because I'm Beatrice putting Polaroids up on a physical wall, but I find it funny how really bent out of shape people get over Reddit down votes. They're down votes from anonymous people on the internet who didn't even have the balls to tell you they think you're full of shit.

I see you like getting your pictures from retail. Do you like them drm free as well?

In the absence of that, what we should do is sulk around and pout that the thread isn't how we think it should be.

In other news, here's an open world visual novel dating sim you can Kickstart.  I have no idea how that works but I assume your girlfriend calls someone else a skank whore and then you explore a random barrow filled with viking zombies together before the orgasm sound files kick in.

It's also on Greenlight so it's even more Steam-related than I thought.

The game is already fully funded, and stands at a little over £9,000. What remains to be seen is how many of its stretch goals it reaches...at £15,000, additional clothing, furniture, and items will be created. The £25,000 goal has simply “wink wink nudge nudge say no more” listed beside it.
Also, of course one of the pledge gifts is a giant body pillow with a picture of an Anime girl on it for 'hugging'.

I can't quite...I can't quite...brain...ow.

Did I see something about a proposed circle jerking?

Mind you, I can't read, but I can jerk with the best of them.

Just pm me the time and place and I'll be there, man.
