:ps4: Foul Play - $2.00 to $100.00 [customspoiler='Fine Print'] :ps4: Foul Play is a part of the PlayStation Heroes program, which means that you can pay your choice among a variety of price points for an item that is usually a theme for entries into a contest to win some prize with most of the money going to a charity. There are no details at the moment for what the prize for buying Foul Play offers, so I'll post that whenever it's announced.

Edit: From the PlayStation Heroes app on PS4, the Foul Play promotion is for a trip to PlayStation Experience in December. Once you purchase the game, you're supposed to go here to register for the actual contest, though you should wait until the page is updated for the PlayStation Experience promotion instead of whatever it's on at the moment.[/customspoiler]

The only thing I crave from Sega are the supposed HD updates on Shenmue 1 & 2.  I'm ok if we never see the end of the series but I'd love to play it again on a modern console.    I am happy however that we are getting Yakuza 5.  I did get 1 & 2 back when I played my PS2 and then 3, 4 & Dead Souls for my PS3.  So I'm glad it's staying PS3 for 5 and it's actually getting released.   It may not be Shenmue but it's the closest thing to that style of game from Sega (or anyone else for that matter) these days.

...

Anyway, hopefully we get a good sale this week or next.

I agree on the Shenume HD updates. I am still holding onto my XBOX for Shenume 2, and while I'm holding on to my Dreamcast for several reasons, it would be one less reason to pull it out.

I am actually more interested in getting the Yakuza 1 & 2 collection brought over. I still have my original discs for PS2, but I would like to get rid of them. Yakuza 1 also had those awful loading times, so it would be nice to have the smoother flow of an HD update.

I'm still holding out hope for a translation of Shining Force 3 episodes II and III on... anything. Episode I was my favorite game of all time

Even if we have the 15 for 15 deal this week, somehow I don't think they will be as good as in the past based on how awful the Sony Sales have been (i.e., 4 weeks of holiday sales).

A Panzer Dragoon collection would be amazing as well. Although from what I've heard, they somehow lost the data for Panzer Dragoon Saga.

Of all the used games I've sold over the years, selling the US versions of Shining Force III and Panzer Dragoon Saga sting the most by a mile. *sigh*

I liked Panzer Dragoon Saga, played through twice (at, what 20 hours a pop?) but had no qualms selling it. On the other hand, I'm holding onto my Saturn solely for Shining Force 3 (and, well, Guardian Heroes)

Which is the better option for the current sales if I've never bought Pinball Arcade?

1) Pick up S1 of the PS4 version and wait out the other tables from the PS3 version to come over to the PS4 version on sale.

or

2) Pick up S1 and S2 of the PS3 version, since it's cross-buy with the Vita version.

For anyone that has the PS3 and PS4 versions, is the PS4 version that much better?

Something tells me this will be another weak week. I'm sure they'll be wanting people to try out the PlayStation Now subscription.

The deal is over now, but the best method would be getting it on PS3/Vita and then getting it on PS4 because the Cross Buy discount on PS4 is the same as the sale price was for S1.

Unfortunately there is bad blood between the creators of Shining Force and Sega. It stems from the fact that Sega only paid them the bare minimum for an outside developer contract despite all their games being hits. If I remember correctly, the developers were running in the red by the time Shining Force III came around, and so that put the kibosh on any further support for the latter two games.

The Shenmue HD remasters never existed. It was a big lie feeding on people's conspiracies about Sega and the Shenmue series, as nobody would go through the trouble of remastering those games and sitting on them for years just for the hell of it.

I'm seeing a bunch of PS1/PS2 Classics and other stuff in the Deals section of the web store, though prices are not live yet:

PS1

Jet Moto

Jet Moto 2

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver

MediEvil

Rayman

Syphon Filter

Tomb Raider

Tomb Raider 2

Twisted Metal

Twisted Metal 2

Warhawk

Wipeout

PS2

Bully

Max Payne

PS3

Final Fantasy XIV

Prince of Persia Sands of Time HD

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD

PSP

The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky

Ys: The Oath in Felghana

They may or may not actually go on sale since there have been other things in this section for weeks at full price for no reason.

Edit: I guess this sale is what is showing up on the web store right now.

Wow, $12 for P4G.  Has that ever been on sale, digital or physical, for less than $20 new?  This might be the time for me to finally pick it up after hearing it hyped up for years... though the potential time commitment on it terrifies me, so I might pass.

Welp, I think ima give up on waiting for an Ateleir sale and just buy REmake and Legend of Heroes with my saved up money. Hopefully we get a golden week sale this year

wow most of those prices suck.

This might be the first time I buy a $50 PSN gift card for my account. Never thought I'd see the day. And they're probably holding the 10% off coupon until the day after this sale ends.

I had been sitting on a physical copy in my cart on Amazon while it's been $19.99, so I guess it's time to pass on that and get P4G digital for $12.

It's pretty easy to find p4g for sub 20, BUT it's a good deal either way.

Gonna have to bite on the R&C collection since it doesn't have a physical release.

Best game in the whole sale, and I've never even beaten it.

I guess having Lumines for 10 bucks isn't bad but the PS4 and Vita side are pretty well trod material sales wise. Anyone have opinions on Need for Speed Rivals for 12 bucks, Ys Oath of Felghana, or Danganronpa for 20 considering it may be a while before it goes to plus?

Wait, what? I hope it's not terrible like the Jak and Daxter collection. That ran like ass.

You can import a physical copy from Europ since for some reason they got one and we didn't

Persona 4 Golden for $12 is an absolute steal. I bought it at $20 and I have absolutely no regrets. The most fun I've had so far on my Vita.

Jumping on Tactics Ogre and Legend of Heroes. Those have been pretty stubborn sales wise and I've always wanted to check them out.

Wow really nice sale!

Anyone know if the digital version of R&C collection is cross buy? If I buy the vita version will I get the PS3 version too or do I have to choose between the two?

Definitely getting P4G and a few others after work today.

Would you guys reccomend final fantasy 9 to a relative newbie to PS1 FF games?

I loved FFX and FFIV, couldn't get into 7 for some reason
9 is my favorite in the series. Its got a great story and is not as "serious" as some of the other FF games which also means a lot less wankery in the story, great cast of characters to boot. The only FF I couldn't really get into was 8 despite starting it 3 separate times I always quit.
