I should have been a lawyer. I let laziness get the best of me and settled on the major that had the best future outlook with the least amount of effort. Business Administration. Not saying it was easy, but compared to law school or engineering or even accounting, it was a breeze.#threadlawyers
Im dreading our house hunt later this year...She sounds more and more like my (ex) wife. But my wife would want a $60K loan so she could get a new BMW.
I pretty much did the same thing. I could have and am told I should have been a lawyer. I can argue shit into the ground. #beatadeadhorse I found out how much reading and writing lawyers had to do and said "I should have been a lawyer. Getting a home loan is a much different animal than a car loan. If you do not have to have a car right now, I would not be getting a loan for one if you want to get a home loan in 6 months. Especially if you do not both have credit scores in the mid 700s or higher.Im dreading our house hunt later this year...
Yeah I got my MBA. I finished my undergrad in '09 when the job market was pretty shitty so I just went into a weekend MBA program right away while working part time. One class at a time for 18 months was a cinch but I did have to pay for it myself. It was cheap though, less than $20K through Utah State. Fell ass backwards into a my current job about a month before I graduated when my former boss got promoted and relocated and just told his boss to replace him with me.I pretty much did the same thing. I could have and am told I should have been a lawyer. I can argue shit into the ground. #beatadeadhorse I found out how much reading and writing lawyers had to do and said "that". I went with BA with a concentration in Finance. But I didnt even really get into Finance because I found a job at the bank that was easy and stuck with it. I have risen through the ranks at least. Got another decent raise (7% when the average was 1%) and bonus this year.
Didnt you also get your MBA? I did too. That wasnt as hard as I thought it would be. But it really wasnt even needed. Thankfully the bank paid for that shit.
I know you're just making a bad joke, but the insurance money goes straight to the lien holder, usually.Another option is to total the car/have it "stolen", get the insurance money, and move to Mexico.
Sound like a guy I work with.I should have been a lawyer. I let laziness get the best of me and settled on the major that had the best future outlook with the least amount of effort. Unless car is worth more than the loan, then yea you wouldnt see a dime.I know you're just making a bad joke, but the insurance money goes straight to the lien holder, usually.
When I got into an accident years ago, the check came to me even though I was still paying the car off.I know you're just making a bad joke, but the insurance money goes straight to the lien holder.
Friend of mine who IS a lawyer, said he read more in the first week of law school then he did in 4 years of undergrad.Yeah I got my MBA. Mine wasn't laziness since I ended up going the engineering route, but it was not giving a damn about who won what case in 1862 to set precedence on another case. I just wanted to get paid well to argue.I should have been a lawyer. I let laziness get the best of me and settled on the major that had the best future outlook with the least amount of effort. This is getting kind of scary. I was about to leave the bank when both my supervisor and VP left about the same time. The manager told his boss I was the man. So I stayed and became more of the man. In a pretty easy job really. Just hate the people sometimes. But thats anywhere.Yeah I got my MBA. Definitely happens. My original job at the old bank I worked at was to make sure every vehicle we had a loan out for had insurance, and that we were listed as lien holder with the insurance agency. Took a few weeks to clean up, but after that it was about an 10hr/week job that I was getting paid to do full time. We were a smaller bank, though. When I got into an accident years ago, the check came to me even though I was still paying the car off.
Sorry, that wasn't directed at you. It was more in response to the discussion after addressing your problem (I'm glad that turned out to not be a big problem, BTW).My fault. Oops. But appreciate the responses.
So I listened to MBMBaM, and learned of someone selling "haunted" dolls on ebay. She even included lil stories with some of them.
"This haunted doll is evil!...You can buy it for $30.00"
Don't mind Vig, we talk about almost any subject in here. It does seem like Tyler, wren, and myself are the main ones who like financial talk. I can guarantee you we don't give a shit if Vig cares that we are talking about it.My fault. Oops. But appreciate the responses.
Yeah I've known for a while that you and I have a scary amount in common. Like when I asked you that NAV question a couple months back in party chat. This is getting kind of scary. You can't give it away, it is tied to your account. I have tried before.i have a $5 off rewards coupon for gamefly that expires today. couldn't find anything i really want to use it on. if someone else can use it, pm me. hopefully that'll stop me from spending $20 on mind zero with it.
You pop them pills too then?Yeah I've known for a while that you and I have a scary amount in common. Like when I asked you that NAV question a couple months back in party chat.
I just don't know if I should be happy with myself that we're so similar.

I PM'd him for it even though I was pretty sure it was tied to his account. But I thought maybe something had changed with their coupon policy. You can't give it away, it is tied to your account. I have tried before.

Unless they have changed it, yeah that is the way it works. It won't hurt to try, but don't get your hopes up.I PM'd him for it even though I was pretty sure it was tied to his account. But I thought maybe something had changed with their coupon policy.
It's a freaking nightmare.Im dreading our house hunt later this year...

We could always make him even happier by switching the topic to sports.
Yup this is true. And it's not just vig, it's everyone. I know I don't care what others think about the topics I like. Is a divorce like a haunting where the next couple are bound to repeat the events?I almost forgot! I may have a house I can sell you!
No but we drink basically the same booze, though I think he drinks a bit more frequently for me. And I haven't had a major injury that requires pain pills yet, so who knows what'll happen if that time comes...You pop them pills too then?
Percocet and Oxy are the way to go for pain pills. No but we drink basically the same booze, though I think he drinks a bit more frequently for me. And I haven't had a major injury that requires pain pills yet, so who knows what'll happen if that time comes...
We are wanting to upgrade houses, only kind of looking right now, but not looking forward to having to deal with selling our house and buying another one. It's a freaking nightmare.
Injury?! What injury? Who had an injury? Me?No but we drink basically the same booze, though I think he drinks a bit more frequently for me. And I haven't had a major injury that requires pain pills yet, so who knows what'll happen if that time comes...

I like posting that image.I don't know why people complain about others discussing topics they don't care about. For me, it always means less posts I have to read.
I saw that on the news this morning. Several FB friends were complaining about it, too. Didn't even occur to me that you might be affected. So a water main broke near my office and they closed the office.
They had us come in at 1pm.
Seriously?

Apparently there were two that broke, we are near the one for Elm Hill and Mcgavock.

If we were only voting for categories we've played the games in, there'd be a lot less votes.I voted for Infamous Second Son, I played Last of Us on PS3 and am currently playing FC4. I have Shadows of Mordor but haven't started it yet.
