Well, so far, so good. This is my first time in an online league, but so far a great experience. Almost completed a minor trade as the Sabres with the Bruins and just played a very close game with BigMes. I liked the 6 minute periods and the speed of the game.

Still happening and with both drives as well. Anyone else get this? Had the same problem when I played BigMes in the playoff league we just had.

I wouldn't mind restarting so we could use the new rosters. I'm using a foreward on defense right now because my 6th (and I only have 6) is god awful.

I'd rather not restart the league for the simple fact that it might take even longer to play while we wait for everyone to rejoin the league. But if the rest of the league wants to restart that's fine with me.
 
i'd rather not restart the league, just because we are already almost through the first week of the season, and it looks as though we are going to have every game get played. there are some guys on the wings that i would like to have on my team (i'm using a defensemen as a 4th line forward), but i don't know if it's such a great idea.

so, i'll leave it up to the majority. so far we have:

2 for restarting
2 who wouldn't mind
2 who don't really want to

which seems to sway a bit more towards restarting. if a few more of you guys could let me know, i would like to get it figured out as quickly as possible.
 
Quick question for you all.

If you did restart the league, is it possible for any more people to join? I finally ordered NHL 2k6 this week and hopefully it will be in my mailbox when I get home today. My team is also still available.

If not I understand because i'm really late to post my wanting to join, but if there is a chance I would like to play with you guys.
 
Count me for the "no restart". Only one game left in week 1. It's gonna take at least another week for everyone to sign back in and then another week for the 1st week to be completed.
 
I would like to continue, but I'll join up again if necessary.

I had a great experience playing KeyserSoze81 even though I lost in the closing minutes.
I need some more shots on goal!

I think we might have an great league this year and I'm glad to be a part of it.
 
I'd rather not restart. We're almost done with week 1 as it is. I just fear that this will end up like the NFL 2k5 and NBA 2K5 leagues, which I was doing halfway decently in and they never were finished.
 
Note to everyone which is important if we do not restart. Although you all should have received a message on Live and/or have seen the message on this site, Live will be down all day Monday, so whoever hasn't gotten their games in, do it before then if possible.
 
Anyone else read extensive problems with dirty disc errors with this game? The commentary on mine starts to lag severely (it'll cut out for a few minutes, then come in a few minutes behind the actual plays, then cut out, until the end of the game). Played another game today where it happened, but luckily I got through the game. It's just really irritating since it's only with this game and it doesn't seem to depend on which drive I use.

hey, sorry i didn't respond to your earlier posts. i forgot.

anyways, i think you got a bad copy of the game. i've only had mine freeze once, and that was when i tried to save a franchise after having a fantasy draft. otherwise, i haven't had any problems with the commentary or the game locking up. if you get the chance, you should try seeing if another copy of the game gives you the same problems.

Picked mine up at Fry's at release. Hopefully they'll still allow me to exchange with a receipt. I really hope this works as I really want to stay in the league.
 
Even though my man Zach Parise was added to the team (an impressive 82 at that), I still don't think we should bother restarting.

On a side note, Parise has 5 goals for me in 2 exhibitions so far lol.
 
What's the "S-thing" we shouldn't be doing in front of the goal? I ask because I'm not sure whether I do it or not. In SP games, when I'm on a rush, I skate towards one side of the defender and if he doesn't bite (turn his hips) I go to the other side, and when he does commit, I go to the other side. Kind of looks like an S, but it's not erratic or anything. That's not a cheap move is it? I do score sometimes off of it when the defender ends up screening the goalie and before I get decked, but it's not very reliable.

I've determined that just about every way to score is considered cheap by someone. If you stay out to the side and attack when the defenders pull out of position, that's cheap, if you fire long slapshots and try to put the rebound in, that's cheap, if you do more than one one-timer a game, that's cheap, if you score on a wrap-around, that's cheap, if you dare to cut back and forth in some sort of deking motion while avoiding defenders, that's cheap.

I'm finally like fuck it. Just play how you play and don't let people make you feel bad for it. I've read about one fool-proof way to score, but at this point haven't even tried it because it just sounds cheap. It's almost up there with shooting off the back of the net from last year.

We tried to play twice, unsuccessfully. We kept getting dropped...
We are going to try again at 9:30, and if that doesn't work, we will have to flip a coin or something to find a winner, since Live is down tomorrow.

Cfreeze did mention though that thatstoobad had agreed to give us a couple extra days if necessary. If we do get some more time, we are scheduled to play Tuesday at 9.
 
If either of you are on a router you should try to disconnect it first if you can and if you already have not tried that yet. I know sometimes I would have trouble connecting after the game setup screen and disconnecting the router always helped me.

try to get it in on tuesday, that will be ok.
