So, new games picked up: Dying Light, Havoc DLC for COD: AW, and Life is Strange. Also, I guess it counts: IDARB.

Played IDARD while the others downloaded. Not really that good in my opinion. Not really seeing what all the buzz being generated over this game is about. It's a cross between Ice Hockey and Joust with a douchebag soundtrack. But whatever, just not my thing. Maybe the younger crowd, (I'm 34), likes it, and I'm just out of touch. I'm fine with that.

Havoc DLC. Strictly got it for the zombies. I played 3 rounds. Decent, but I only played solo, and will likely revisit once my friends get it.

Life is Strange. Basically a Telltale style "choose your own adventure" game meets The Butterfly Effect. I loved the movie. Throw in a high school photography high school girl as the protaganist and a hipster Seattle-esque indie soundtrack, and "just subtle enough" X-Files throwbacks, and you've pretty much got Life is Strange. I played the entire first episode, and splurged for the whole season. What can I say? The game, while "nice" or "high school" drama-ish in parts, came across as interesting and different enough to warrant my attention past the first episode.

Dying Light. The new beast that has taken over my console. Got about 20% through the story last night, and did nothing but side quests in co-op with a friend all day today. The reviews, that are in the 70s and 80s, way undervalue this game. Didn't have a single moment where I didn't enjoy the game so far.

I just noticed on billing.microsoft.com that my Office 365 free month expired like yesterday or 2 days ago. fuck :D

I actually managed to download all the free DA:O (plus ME2 Arrival) after a few tries, maybe it's just Live acting crazy with my account (I once got an error like "can't retrieve your billing infos from the server").

Humph. I looked under Demos and the stupid little "..." yesterday and certainly didn't see it listed, nor under the LIS game listing, it simply showed the Season Pass. That's part of why I was amused that there was a 360 demo and not an X1 demo.

Oh well, I've been mistaken before, and I'll present someone an opportunity to correct me I'm sure. Hooray for community.

Never Alone was fun but way too damn short. Enjoyed it, easy 1000 gs, and saved some space on my harddrive. Was not worth the $10.04+tax though, only because of how short it was.

Late af edit- #IDARB is cool, a ridiculously easy 1000 gs for that also.

Crap...Brothers is a total pass for me as the free GWG...won't play it even for free. Sniper looks fun though. If it wasn't for the sale deals these free games just aren't worth the price of a yearly gold sub. Can't remember what the last one was that I downloaded. Saints row 3 maybe?

What's so bad about Brothers? Don't like using two joysticks to move two characters? It's a great game, especially being free.

Played IDARD while the others downloaded. Not really that good in my opinion. Not really seeing what all the buzz being generated over this game is about. It's a cross between Ice Hockey and Joust with a douchebag soundtrack. But whatever, just not my thing. Maybe the younger crowd, (I'm 34), likes it, and I'm just out of touch. I'm fine with that.

Havoc DLC. Strictly got it for the zombies. I played 3 rounds. Decent, but I only played solo, and will likely revisit once my friends get it.

Life is Strange. Basically a Telltale style "choose your own adventure" game meets The Butterfly Effect. I loved the movie. Throw in a high school photography high school girl as the protaganist and a hipster Seattle-esque indie soundtrack, and "just subtle enough" X-Files throwbacks, and you've pretty much got Life is Strange. I played the entire first episode, and splurged for the whole season. What can I say? The game, while "nice" or "high school" drama-ish in parts, came across as interesting and different enough to warrant my attention past the first episode.

Dying Light. The new beast that has taken over my console. Got about 20% through the story last night, and did nothing but side quests in co-op with a friend all day today. The reviews, that are in the 70s and 80s, way undervalue this game. Didn't have a single moment where I didn't enjoy the game so far.

I've picked up a lot more than expected this week: nhl, unmechanical, nfs: rivals, life is strange and another world. And #idarb. I've only played single player so far in idarb but I've enjoyed it. Would never pay $15 for it though. I'll try the multiplayer after I get a little better at it. I'm 33, so obviously MUCH younger than you :)

I absolutely love life is strange so far and your description is spot on.

Nfs is fun and will hold me over until FH2 gets a decent sale.

Unmechanical pretty good too, kind of like insanely twisted shadow planet only (at least so far) much less open-worldy.

I pretty much hate another world and I wish I had put that $4 towards something else.

I'll give nhl a try tonight.

Dead Island made me nauseous so I'm hesitant to try dying light.

Anyway, new deals tomorrow!

Yeah the twin stick thing kinda puts me off it, controlling two characters at once is blech to me, and too it just doesn't look like something I'd really get into playing, free or not. Indie/arcade games don't strike a cord with me in general either. Tried Bastion and Dust and I didn't like them, and this looks kinda in the same vein.

Wish GWG would give an either/or option. Something like choose Brothers OR $3 in MS money, or choose Brothers OR an extra week of gold. Some other choice if we don't want or already have the free game. That way everyone could get Something out of GWG if we don't want the free game.

Can't queue or buy stuff from Xbox.com right now.  I can pull up Brothers, but when it goes to do the pop-over frame thing to "purchase", it never loads.  Tried with 3 different browsers, it fails at the same point on all 3.  Hope they get this fixed soon.

Brothers has very little in common with Dust and Bastion. It's not an action game nor is the dual character control complex at all.

 
#IDARB is surprisingly fun and crazy to play online. Just sucks that you need 4 controllers on one Xbox to really enjoy the full potential of the game :(

Id give brothers a second shot. The learning curve is easy. Once tou have how it controls its easy. I really liked it and didnt think I would like a game like that.

Have you played Brothers on another platform? It could be a loss for you if you just pass on it. One of the best gaming experiences I had last year.

You probably could beat it during. The Kitten Bowl was intense though. If Joe Montuna doesn't get MVK then the voting might be rigged. After his clutch purrrformence in overtime, there is not way he isn't getting MVK.

I agree 100% about the twin sticks ordeal. When things as simple as avoiding a dog become difficult, it's time to move on. Seriously I kept running in circles; it was as if I was in a Looney Tunes cartoon.

Bastion and Dust don't depend on dual sticks and are easier to control. I'd rank Dust higher than Bastion but both are good games on their own.

I'll stick with Mario Bros. and Double Dragon Neon (that would have been a nice GWG title) for games with brothers. Come to think about it, what other game series have brothers fighting with or against each other?

I even traded in my copy when it was announced. I also have to stop waiting last minute every damn time, I never turn my :360: on unless its to d/l these games but I finally forget when its a good game  :wall:

Well guess I'll be starting on The Witcher 3 before beating that.

I like brothers so far even if im only about 10 minutes into the game.

The twin sticks for both brothers is pretty cool once you get the handle of it
