Careful though, price matching disallows GCU - possibly even for BB website matching.
On another surprising note, post purchase price matching allows stacking of GCU and Best Buy pricing. It would make sense to allow it during the initial purchase when price matching Bestbuy.com.

That's what I did for donkey kong and peach, which I thankfully had not purchased yet.

Shit, the DK/Yoshi/Peach sale is going to be the cheap catalyst excuse for me to jump-start my amiibo collection out of the Zelda franchise only exclusive I have been in.

CURSE YOU NINTENDO!!!

*Grumbles as he takes his wallet out*

So at $9.99 a pop, that's $29.97 before tax. Cheaper than the TRU sale. Dang.
$7.99 GCU = $23.97 BT

EDIT:

Ordered the 3 with a $5 Cert that I really didn't know what to do with.

...God damn it here it goes.

So will best buy do a price adjustment with the GCU discount if you recently purchased those 3 amiibos? Probably not gonna waste my time or gas to get back about 5 bucks or so

even better if a b2g1 free happen soon making it $7.99 GCU x 3 = 23.97 - 7.99 = $15.98

I didn't expect this so I figured I'd share: I called my local Gamestop that has my site to Store Shulk arriving today to see if it had came in yet. The guy said no. I asked if they expected to have any extra because I'd like to buy a second to open. He then said that he will not know until the shipment arrives and that I can come wait in the store and there was only one guy waiting in line right now. So apparently there is some guy hanging out at Gamestop just hoping that they get in more than the pre ordered amount of Shulk.

Slightly off topic, but anybody ever get those $5 in-store only Best Buy certs before? Can those be used on ship to store items when you get to the store to pick it up? Peach is oddly nowhere around me locally at the stores with discount and that's all I really want (I say that now), though this deal isn't anything special tbh.

On topic, has anybody so far confirmed getting a Shulk outside preordering at the stores? I see some with in stock around me, but I'm guessing preorders count as "in stock", right?

Just confirmed, my local gamestop shows them in stock but I just called and he said they only have enough for pre-orders. Time to cross my fingers and hope that someone doesn't pick theirs up within 48 hours.

Yes.

I hate that I can't close this forum down and be productive...'cuz if i did; i might miss out on info pertaining to my beloved Ness pre-order.  Argh!!!

Ugh - missed the Mario series preorders at BBY. Have a Toad already at GS (the only one that I was 100% certain I wanted), but it would have been nice to get the rest with GCU.

Email came in from TRU about 20 minutes ago that my Mega Man will be available Friday - got my email for Sonic at least a couple of weeks ago for the same date, but no updates for Ike, which I also preordered.

Okay, so, I just called and spoke to every single Gamestop in Georgia and every single one of them told me that they were only getting enough to cover preorders and not one single more.

Translation: "Sorry! We stole them all! Tee-hee!"

New Personal Mantra: Don't be the guy who takes this to a violent place. Don't be that guy. Don't be that guy.

im going to my GS later to pick up Sheik, when i passed by yesterday they told me i should be able to pick up other of wave 3 (assuming at least toon link, ike, and dede)

will report back

Tiny insignificant rant:

What is the fuck ing point of having an exclusive anything if you are only going to have enough for preorders? Why bother? The idea of an exclusive is to get people in to your store and hopefully have them buy other product. WTF?

This is incorrect. Have some friends who manage at a few different GS's and they all can see the inventory coming in. Each, when I spoke to them separately (some of which have no interest in Amiibo at all) said that their weekly shipments are literally only getting enough for pre-orders.

It's highly likely they are holding stock for web-only orders to coincide with the 3DS release on Friday. Honestly, if you wanted Shulk so badly you should have preordered him. I had mine done weeks before he was cut off.

Totally. Gamestop has always been bad business. They treat the customers as if they are there to serve the store. I have always tried to avoid shopping there, only buying things when they offer the lowest retail price on niche games. I will likely be done with Gamestop completely, pending on what we find out they've done with their remaining Shulks.

there was plenty of time to pre-order, and the exclusive not only creates foot traffic into the store, but also creates traffic on their website, im sure some people mightve ordered other amiibos from GS along with Shulk to get free shipping which creates sales

Lots of people blame Nintendo. But it's not just Nintendo. For some dumbass reason, companies have forgotten the golden rule of merchandising: SUPPLY AND DEMAND! This is the same thing that's happened with the Anniversary PS4.

Free shipping is not an option with pre-orders, unless you pre-order with ship to home orders. Does it work if you get free shipping with items that are in-stock and throw in a pre-order to the order?

True. With the demand so high and the supply so low GS, BB, TRU, and Target should realistically have charged $50 minimum for the figurines.

I strongly agree with this. I can completely understand mom and dads complaining since they don't follow this geek shit so heavily but if you use CAG you knew damn well you needed to pre order. This isn't your first rodeo. If you didn't learn before I hope you have now. PRE ORDER

a gamestop by me just got a shipment just now while i got off the phone but i didnt preorder there and he didnt say whether it was preorder or not

well regardless people went to stores to pre-order and thats the type of foot traffic they wanted, perhaps most people preordered all of Wave 3 while they were at it, etc

the point is the exclusive already served its purpose for GS

A lot of people here, myself included, weren't collecting Amiibo around Christmas. We've spent all of 2015 trying to pre-order them, weeks and months in advance of their release dates. That's hardly being late to the game. These things didn't even first hit the shelves until Thanksgiving, where we could initially inspect their art design and quality. You gotta keep everything in perspective.

The whole gamestop philosophy of 'well if you wanted it then you should have pre-ordered it' shit don't fly.

Dude, calling every gamestop in the entirety of a state isn't going to do anything right now. Those people also probably weren't lying. Literally every account from everybody is that GS only has enough for preorders. If you really want to track one down, call after the pre-order hold period ends.

Supply and demand doesn't apply. Demand wouldn't be there if the supply wasnt short. For every one of us who is buying these because of their fandom for Smash Bros or a specific character or another compatible game, there are 500 more buying them because they are #rare. Look how many people have no interest in the commons, simply because they are common. I promise you, if Mario was a K-Mart exclusive or some shit, everybody and his brother would be chasing him down.

if these amiibos were readily available for purchase at any time, i wouldnt be rushing out to buy these things or preorder them immediately

the reason there is high demand is because supply is short, if you flipped it and supply was not an issue demand would be low and these things would be collecting dust with skylanders and disney infinity figures on shelves

I guess. I mean I didn't buy my Wii U until later, but as soon as word got out about Marth, Villager, and WFT drying up it seemed that, if I had interest, it made sense to pre-order all the figurines I wanted as soon as possible. By that point Lucario was already gone, but still had plenty of time to get Meta and Shulk through pre-order, as well as all of Wave 3 and SMB at GS in store. It is being late to the game. Especially with Wave 3, which were able to be pre-ordered even after Christmas.

Thank you. At least one person has legitimate advice. Everybody else's advice is, "YOU SHOULD'VE PREORDERED BACK WHEN YOU DIDN'T KNOW THEY EXISTED, ASSHOLE!!!".

Amen. As I've said, I hate preordering cause paint application is a huge deciding factor for me. And if you think I am gonna blow $35 on 3 copies of one figure, you're wrong. Even 6 years ago, exclusives were known to be EXCLUSIVES. Therefore, the retailers knew damn well to order a gazillion. Not this, order 6 and let the scalper buy them all at once as soon as the doors open.

I was wanting to use GCU discount, of course. I have it preordered with Amazon as a backup already.
Yea, would have been much better with GCU. Amazon is also horrible with shipping those types of items in a bubble mailer. I have a backup as well but would much prefer to get with GCU.

In fairness, the Target I went to for Rosalina put a stop to scalping after I made their corporate aware of the issue. One per person. TRU held all the preordered Lucarios in the back for 7 days, and GS is fulfilling all preorders first no matter how early El Hoardo shows up. That's not letting scalpers buy the entire stock.

I ordered got all of wave 1, wave 2, and most of wave 3 via Amazon preorders. I have yet to get a single figure in a bubble mailer. For wave 1, every single figure was in the same box, along with the SSB collector's guide. And they were packed so tightly with all the padding that was used, there wasn't even room enough to shift in the box. Wave 2 came one-by-one, each in it's own box and with plenty of protective packaging. Wave 3, I've gotten some together and some on their own, but still no bubble mailers and all of them have had plenty of packing to keep them from getting ruine. I open mine, so it's a moot point for me, but Amazon has done a great job for my amiibo orders thus far.

When did the Mario series Amiibos go up at Best Buy? I just checked last night and nothing. They seriously sold out that fast? That has to be a new Amiibo record. Guess it's a good thing I preordered at Amazon this time..

I have not experienced Amazon ship any amiibo in bubble mailers. I have a toad preordered with both AMZ and BBY, so I'll compare once I get them. So far Amazon and Best Buy have been my best amiibo shipping experiences. TRU has done a terrible job of padding their boxes.

So I'm getting mixed signals here, do we have confirmation that gamestop is getting in king Dedede and Ike today as well as the others?
Doesn't sound like they are coming in ahead of the ETA date of the 13th. Honestly, I wouldn't be shocked if they fell back to next week at this point.
