Got an email yesterday for shulk from GS. but apparently they didnt have them in yet? How are people finding which stores have shulk? The app shows nothing and the website just says online only no store locater option.

What an idiot, any cashier who would do that should be fired.
And that is not completely true. Best buy stores CAN check the pre-order report for their store to see how many of what SKU was pre-ordered.

 
Apparently some guy tried to barge in and buy all of the Meta Knights because the girl on the phone said we had them in stock. Got shot down and got all pissed off once he was unable to buy them.

I have a mental image of a fat, middle-aged man in a faded Offspring t-shirt bear-rushing the sliding door at the Best Buy, flailing through the store at full speed, knocking over employees and customers both, then leaping over the customer service counter and joylessly shoving 25 Meta Knights into a dirty sack, only to be shocked when a security guard comes over and takes them out of the sack, then responding by going full-only-child and kicking over shelves of Kindles and slapping blu-rays out of people's hands before finally slumping to the ground in tears and curling into the fetal position, waiting for the authorities.

Ah, well that's great. I guess that means the store I ordered from either doesn't know about this or didn't want me to know.
 
Best buys website just allowed for MK preorders. When I went to go check out, however, it said the item was sold out and the pre-order button is gone.
 
Meta knight now has the pre order button on bestbuy.com and in store pickup. Both which end in an error and don't allow anything to be added to the cart. Release date still 12/31/15

EDIT: it changed from pre order to sold out within seconds

Was able to get 2 meta knight from bestbuy. Kinda mad I missed out on mejier for the other amiibos, but I always have toysrus on Friday!

Most likely you are hitting different servers that havent all updated to one result. Since it looks like most best buys are just receiving their Meta shipments, they may be releasing some online, too.

I went to the store pickup page and added it to cart. Right now both my nearest stores say in stock but when it was available to actually order for the 30 seconds or so, only 1 of them let me place an order but it went thru.

 
Has anyone who ordered MetaKnight online for ship-to-home see any action yet? I got my Toon Link but no word on MK.

A guy I was chatting with at the Rosalina launch managed to do this. They had Little Mac or Falcon street dated, so he had them scan another twice

Electronics, I called and all of my mejiers in town and they're sold out! I think people are clearing stock, one of the mejier stores I called, an employee said someone came in and bought them all. Smfh.
 
Looks like I'll be stopping at BBY before GS today. Would really be nice to wrap up wave 3 by the end of the week.
 
Just picked up Shulk without any hassles. He also told me a hilarious story.

They only got 3 Shulks total, and some kid got one. Some scalper dude kept trying to buy it from him, but the kid kept refusing. Eventually he got up to the high 100$ range, by which point the kids mom came in to see what was going on and overheard. Poor kids mom snatched it from him and sold it to the guy, while the manager said he couldnt resist laughing like a maniac.
 
has anyone had luck grabbing meta knight at best buy today? in store. my guess is that its a no go given the date is locked, but the only best buy with it in stock is the one that makes common errors as this. such as "i will just scan another one, i dont know why this isn't working" mentality.

Aw. Poor kid. I hope his Mom at least let him keep the hundred bucks. He's likely gonna need it for Ebay. Man, I know just how he feels. My Mom used to do that kinda stuff to me.

Sounds like a collector instead of a scalper...I dont think a scalper is paying $100 for a Shulk

 
It's funny how... just a few weeks ago, we were all thinking Rosalina was gonna be the hardest to get because she was impossible to pre-order. And then, come release, she was pretty damn easy to find since she was released on Sunday (since most people don't work Sundays) and most stores got plenty, and limited it to 1 per person. 

Sure seems like a different story now. 

I got a call from GS and they said they'd hold mine until Saturday but... still feel uneasy about it.

Yeah, that had to have been a collector, no way a scalper would pay $100. Also, if that mon didn't let him keep the $100, that child will resent her for the rest of his life.
 
You know what sucks, being at work and watching all of this going down and can not do anything about it. I did not see the thing about Myjiers until after lunch because well it was not posted until after lunch. I called my local one while at work, they had them all. I had my Girlfriend call them after she got off work because she gets off work before me and they were all sold out already. The remaining 6 of wave 3 are going to be hard as hell for me to find. This really sucks at the moment...............

Rosalina was not thought of as being the hardest to get other than ordering it online ahead of time. Target was annoying with it. The one to watch for was always going to be Shulk. Now, since BBY has lost any ability to do anything right, MK may become the rarest.
