 Anime Steals and Deals

**It is highly recommended you check the latest posts in this thread as they will often have the most up to date deals. I will attempt to reflect these sales in the OP, but always check the latest posts.**

Rightstuf

Rightstuf runs studio sales every week, sometimes even twice a week. These range from anime, manga, and even artbooks. Prices are decent, and Rightstuf has amazing customer service. I highly recommend them for that alone.

http://www.rightstuf.com/rssite/main/

You can save an additional 10% off a majority of their items (Including preorders) by buying their Got Anime membership

http://www.rightstuf.com/rssite/action/store/item/Item?ItemName=gotanime1

Amazon

Amazon tends to offer lower everyday prices on their anime, and often run sales on Funimation items routinely. Keep track on your favorites or check your daily deal's for a possible 5% off of some based off your history on Amazon.

(Also, I'd also recommend to check out Amazon's top 100 deals in Anime Bluray/DVD as they tend to show what's popular, or what is on sale.)

http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/movies-tv/2959127011/ref=pd_zg_hrsr_mov_1_3_last   (Blu Ray)

DVDPlanet / Deep Discount

Known by many for their bad customer service, they often make up for it with their lower prices on a lot of their items. This and they routinely run sales specifically for anime.

http://www.dvdplanet.com/Pages/Search/Category.aspx?ec=42000

http://www.deepdiscount.com/index.cfm

I highly suggest when you order from them to only order in stock items, and not ones that are backordered. Save yourself the displeasure of having to deal with the headaches. And patience is a must with these sites.

Cheapassgamer

Maybe you will find something here on our own forums! We have a thread dedicated specifically to Anime and Manga for sale from fellow Cags.

after 2 months of waiting for my order I finally get this

:(

oh well. though it is kind of shitty that I could place orders for all 3 online where they are all set to get new stock in 2 weeks :/
Wow. I just checked my orders after reading this and they cancelled my Persona 4: The Animation - Collection 1. I never got a email saying so ;_;

Well I'm glad I didn't pass on getting it used last month for $22

Same thing happened to my fate/stay night order. Don't feel bad, they probably weren't going to get stock in 2 weeks. That estimated stock always seems to be two weeks away. The date kept increasing every time i saw it.

I'm no purist, but I kind of wanted a dual audio version to hit. Too bad Aniplex hates us too much to give us that privilege, but I still did buy the blus on release.

Maybe I should be worried about my Quenns Blade season 1 on blu that I placed a month ago.said they were going to ship on the 18th but NOTHING :(

I'd post a picture of my anime collection, but I'd have to take pictures of all of my free-standing shelves.

And the top of my stereo cabinet.

And the floor.

...

...

And the end of the couch where I throw whatever just came in the mail until I find a place for it on the shelves, stereo, or floor.

Yea, you aren't getting that. lol

Media Blasters doesn't have any copies left and are not going to reprint it either. I had a nice chat with the guys at Anime Expo last year about it.

Fyi, Rightstuf is running a ViZ media sale (no DVDs or Blus)

This would be a good time to pick up those nice box sets for manga people always talk about in this thread, so for those who still don't own these sets yet, now's the time to grab them.

These sets do stack with gotanime discounts too, so added bonus for those who have it.

Edit: There goes $500 out of my pocket. :*(

All this time and I forgot to post my RightStuf haul from December:

Dante's Inferno (DVD)

Lupin the Third: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine (Blu Ray)

Tenchi Muyo: Ryo Ohki Complete Series (DVD)

Appleseed (DVD)

Total came to $48 so I bought a $1 and $5 Blind Box mystery item to pass the $50 requirement for free shipping. From that I got:

$1 Blind Box Item - Armitage: Dual Matrix (DVD)

$5 Blind Box Item - .hack//cell Volume 2 (First time I got manga from a blind box item)

Since I plan on getting the DBZ Blu Rays later this year, I also subscribed to GotAnime.

Black Lagoon hooked me more than I had expected it too, so that's really promising to hear. I ended up grabbing all of it along with a pre-order for the newest Claymore. There's actually very little manga I'm really looking to get right now, which is nice. I want to get the entirety of Soul Eater next time Yen Press has a sale. And I may end up starting Jormungand--depending on how I feel at the end of the anime. Does anyone have any other big recommendations from Viz?

Every season of dbz blu ray is 21.99 on amazon right now. I can almost guarantee they will get cheaper in the future, but it is a good deal for some of the later seasons that haven't been out as long.

Uzumaki which is an excellent horror manga.

I'm actually quite curious what DNukem's collection looks like.
Only one of my units has enough space around it for me to take a picture. My other 2 (one of which is simply four DVD carrier bags stacked on top of each other to hold DC Comics, Dragonball, Pokemon, and Gundam) have less than 2 feet for me to take a picture of.

This is more or less my main shelf, minus the bottom 2 rows because I need to organize those and there's junk in front of it.

If I am being honest, the Sailor Moon and Tenchi Movie boxes are empty while Yamada, HLP, Sacred Blacksmith, and Sekirei have an empty space that I haven't figured out what to put in there. I hate being addicted to artboxes.

If you do free shipping with multiple pre-order items, they will delay it until the last one is released, right?

Man, I wish I had the room to display my stuff in a way that allowed for me to show it off. All I can do to that end is look through my spreadsheet lol.

Here is my lowly collection. Only thing not pictured is my two oversized NISA sets.

I would like, very much, to see Princess Kaguya, but as Up on Poppy Hill was $13 a few months after release, I'm holding off on getting Kaguya.

^^^

That thread makes me sad haha, I can't post there because I'm not on that level. :(

It's like I'm on the ground looking up to Heaven.

It's not a competition, it's a place to share with your fellow collectors' cohort. ^__^

Plus, collections of all shapes and sizes are always welcomed, especially if it's quality. :D

Dont be afraid, I post there too, even if my collection isnt as large as the others.
Fo reel. Dat Vita collection!

My collection is mostly stored in drawers because I have no room for shelves :( Though I do have one small shelve filled with mostly Aniplex and NISA/RS sets.

D'oh - I'd been waiting on a Sentai/Section 23 sale overlapping with a coupon at DD, and I just missed it! Hopefully it happens again later this year and/or they do something similar at DVD Planet.

darn it code expired. maybe next time! tried to get saint seiya movies 1/2 & 3/4, mad bull 34, violence jack, blue sub. 6 bluray, and few more.

Hmm, Castle of Cagliostro finishes off the list of "Miyazaki blu rays I imported because they had no sign of a release here, but then came over anyway."  I'd like to pretend that I'm not going to buy it again, but I'm pretty sure you can all guess whether or not I will.

Let's go Eastern Star, just bite the bullet and release the red jacket series already; even if it's just the content already released by Pioneer.

Seeing Samurai Pizza Cats mentioned was a blast from the past. I haven't seen that since I was probably 6 or 7 years old. There are very few people I've ever met that even knew about it!
