Just had a three hour run in The Hungry Horde. Got me the 35th spot on the leader board, disappointed I couldn't keep it going another three hours to snag the top spot. Not like I don't have over three more hours of grinding for the plat.

Hey E.

NewEgg has the Golds for $74.99 plus $3 shipping.  Not a great deal but not too bad I guess.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826159544

Also the dual shock 4 in black for $39.99 plus $1.99 shipping.  This might only be if you click on the link in the email they send.  Not sure on this one.

My original DS4 L1 started sticking again.  I guess I got 20 or so hours out of it.  NewEgg has warehouses in CA and NJ but seems whenever I order my crap comes from CA so I don't really order from them much.

If BB matched the price I would be tempted to by another DS4.

I thought Invertedaccess was going to have a review of 2015 The Show for Vita?
I'll have a PS4 review next week, monday or Tuesday, I just got the game. Won't be doing a Vita, because honestly it is identical to last years vita game with a tweak here and there.

Still havent finished Strider.  I am 2.5 hours into my normal run to beat the game under 4 hours and will have the plat.  I just finished the Balrog and got a little bit further.

Vig,

Didnt you say you beat Strider in just over 2 hours?  How did you do that?  I have just skipped a ton of enemies and run everywhere and still have a half hour to go I would think.

Oh man, Retro City Rampage has a LIMITED EDITION physical release for Vita!!  I am so getting it.  I wish you guys would have told me sooner.

The final chapter is infuriating. You'll essentially need to die enough times to get each button and memorize it so you can press it before it pops up on the screen.
Ugh. Sounds fun.

For those who have it on your list, only the first episode has missable trophies (two) that require another complete playthrough.

Do not die. If you do die, you can quit out of the game with the PS button and it won't count.

The other missable trophy involves selecting four specific pieces of dialog on the wheel during the course of the episode when talking to the daughter.

Your Mom is overreacting

Buck Up

Maybe (they can get in)

Don't be Stupid

Everything else can be cleaned up in chapter select in the first episode, and in episodes 2-4.

I have no idea. I picked up whatever upgrades might have been in the immediate area as I ran around, abused Option-C (the L1+Hoop bird special attack) during boss fights, and also skipped enemies wherever possible.

I think there was a missable one in the last episode where you have to be sure not to skip a part where you can talk to one of the characters. You have to make her use all the dialog options or something. I guess you could get there again by chapter select but I want to say there is a lot of stuff to go through to get to that point or something.

Thanks. I missed it because I was doing other things but I appreciate people posting these. Did you get one?

Ness is going to be Gamestop exclusive and going up later today I think and Greninja is going to be exclusive at TRU I guess.
I really want to try for Greninja because that's the starter I went with for Pokemon Y, and also it's a freaking ninja frog.

Yeah, it's getting absolutely ridiculous. I'm not even trying to get all of them, and this is driving me insane. If I can just grab a lucina through all this stupidity I'll be happy enough.
It's honestly borderline cruel of Nintendo IMO. All they're doing is feeding the resell market with these exclusives and making it near impossible for average joes to get their hands on a significant portion of the collection. I don't care that much and only want a few of them, but the huge Nintendo fan me of 10-15 years ago would probably be beyond frustrated that these things were unobtainable.

Yeah, I managed to get an order in. Greninja is supposed to pop up sometime tomorrow. Hopefully he has a longer window than the maybe 10 minutes jigglypuff got.

Not horrible, but not good for a next gen title.

There is one super annoying thing that I am not sure why it does it, every single loading screen I get a message that recording has been suspended for a couple of seconds and then a message that it has resumed. and that is every single loading screen it happens. Not sure why recording needs to be stopped for every picture of an MLB player
You can turn that off in the share settings.

I missed Jigglypuff as well. The Amiibo line in general has been handled pretty poorly. What's worse is The Nintendo Store got the last wave of exclusives after the stores themselves had 0. It just seems anyone who just wants the characters they like will have a really hard time getting some of these. The exclusives aren't helping anyone except resellers. I swore I wouldn't get any but after getting a Little Mac at Amazon (for MSRP) I've actually held on to a few. Some are nice like Mega Man.

This goes against my nature of not collecting anything...but I'm pretty turned off to the whole thing anyway. I'll probably keep the few I have and be happy enough. Guessing those pre-orders are gonna go fast.

After playing all the way through Borderlands 2 and two of the DLC packs this past week, I have to say that anyone comparing it and Destiny is officially more retarded than I originally thought.

I'm probably back to just handhelds with them again. They've gone from probably the most gamer oriented (though antiquated) company to jumping on trends and cashing in on their most loyal customers. At least when Sony or MS screw us they don't do it under the guise of serving their fans.

So did they talk about any actual games during that Nintendo Direct yesterday or was it all golden cow Amiibos and wool fetish talk?

As an update on Ness, apparently he's only going up for instore preorders at GS at 3pm est today. Online orders are at an undetermined time/date later.

Now that's some clusterfucky bs. I have 20+ of these things and I'm about to bow out.

Makes me glad I didn't even want Jigglypuff and have so far avoided any collector mentality (have only bought the golden mario and a King Dedede meant for a friend that got cancelled).

I do wonder at Nintendo's thinking. There's pissing off fans and feeding a secondary market like you said, and then there's the fact that the rarity of amiibos seems to mainly entice collectors who never take the item out of the packaging or use them, which doesn't drive hardware or software sales.

I was late to the direct, but they did have some good info/trailers for the new fire emblem, that fire emblem x shin megami tensei game, splatoon (an entire stream dedicated to it right afterwards), and I saw some indies for eshop.

Nothing new that I saw. Was mostly Amiibos and cash ins and some Fire Emblem. Showed Splatoon afterwards.

They have a lot of builty up loyalty with the over 20 crowd that I don't think trickles down too well with kids, except maybe kids of the same over 20 crowd. Seems like you only ever see Skylanders or Disney Infinity toys in kids hands in store. Probably doesn't help that you can't sell a toy to a kid if the toy is never on store shelves.

Maybe I should write another rant on GameGravy about Nintendo trying to cash in with trends instead of actual games again to see what fun comments I can get out of all the other writers.
