I thought about picking up the PS3 version if it ever got down to the $5 range (it's been as low as $10), but now that there is a superior PS4 version now I'll have to hesitate unless it ends up being crossbuy.

It's a 2D sidescroller beat-em-up set in Santiago, Chile. A warlock is in the abyss below the city, but his dreams have become so vivid that they have become reality and broken through to the surface and attacking the city. It is your job to journey down into the Abyss and kill the warlock.

You start off as just one character, but eventually you can pick from 2 other main characters. You can also capture enemies (each which have their own moves and special moves) and transform into them to use their abilities. Since the levels are all manifestations of the warlock's dream it is part rogue-like as the levels are procedurally generated.

If you die you come back as a weaker soldier who can't shift into other characters. If you make it to the next altar (checkpoint) you can change back into the main character. If you die again you have to start over.

 
The PS4 versions just tacks on a fighting game, right? The main game looks like it could be fun, but not sure about that fighting game part.

Yeah, regular metroid begs to be played with a guide or at the very least an online map, unless you have the patience of a saint.

oh god remember the original metroid's bosses? ugh. Wasn't there a lava pool below one of them that you'd get knocked in to and it was a huge pain to jump out?
 
I was kind of considering getting the Disney Infinity 2.0 for Vita at some point.  I assumed the price would likely plummet unless all the hardcore character collectors snatched it up just to get the black suit Spidey that is exclusive to it.

Now that I see it is a Gamestop exclusive, I do not expect the price to plummet ever unless there is a dusty set a couple years from now still available.  If their "sale" for it this week included the Guardians set instead of the Avengers set (which I got with the PS4 version) for free, I might have been slightly tempted to get it with coupons I could get from PUR points.

Yeah, if it wasn't for The Official Nintendo Player's Guide and the maps they had in it, I doubt I would have ever figured Metroid out.

Well my personal favorite butter beans are the Hanover canned, which are literally giant Lima beans. Larger than what you'd normally buy.

Supposedly the PS3 version isn't as well optimized as the PC version so I suspect the PS4 version will be closer in performances to that, the Vs. mode and such (more robust move set, better ability to control your character, etc.) is stuff which was patched on the PC version but not the console version.

I'm absolutely pro mayo. I like nearly every food in all honesty though, there are very few things that I'd ever avoid. Pineapple flavor and texture just make me cringe though.

Man, ever since I lost my trophy streak during MKX boosting I am having a really tought time getting motivated to play anything on my PS3/PS4. I really need the Witcher 3 to come out already (hopefully I can finish up 2 on my 360 again beforehand)

They are? I know it probably sounds odd coming from me when I try to manage a trophy streak, try to climb the leader boards, and even write articles about trophies now. I find all that fun, but they aren't worth anything except possibly personal pride.

Right, on days when you're busy, maintaining a trophy streak is more like a daily chore than anything fun. Even then, the system can randomly decide to cheat you out of it if you get the trophy within a few hours of midnight. Trophies at least you can choose when to do them (except at times when boosting) on your own schedule.

Kiwi's are so damn good. You eat the skin?

Pineapple is always delicious. I loved stayed in Hawaii for a month and they had so many good fruits. Pineapple is great anytime but taste so much better in Hawaii.

So without the intangible value of the artbook, the difference between it and the original HD collection is this includes MGS1, MGS1: VR missions, and MGS4.

You can get a preowned copy of the HD collection for $13.49 from Best Buy (if you have GCU)
Metal gear 4 you can get used for $5 from gamestop and probably a few other places.
I'm not sure the VR missions (a voucher code) are worth replaying, that's why I passed on them when they were on sale for $1.49 on PSN during golden week a couple of weeks ago.
MGS1 is also just a voucher code and it's been between $4-5 a few times (I paid $4.89 when I bought it)

So $13.49 (HD collection) + $4.99 (MGS4) + $1.49 (VR missions) + $5 (MGS1) = $25ish. So if you want everything, it is still slightly cheaper to be patient for a sale and buy it piecemeal, but if there is anything you already own or pieces you don't want, it is definitely better to buy it piecemeal.

As expected CHUD 2 was awful, worse than I could possibly have anticipated. It was actually goofier than Return of the Living Dead 2, and I didn't think that was possible. It's like they took a zombie "comedy" and changed 10 words in the script to turn it into a CHUD film because the monsters aren't anything like those from the first movie.
