I have Magicka on Steam. I tried getting into it but the first time I played it during the tutorial level end boss, I stepped on a mine or something I planted, it shot me backwards and glitched my character over or through the locked door and I couldn't unlock it to get back in to beat him. I did one of these :whistle2:? and haven't played it since.
I didn't like the whole "make up your own spell" thing. I just ended up using the same spell over and over again. Plus on PC it has some issue that causes poor performance and I never felt like figuring out the workaround to fix it.

Is it bad that I am half-tempted by Risk at $10.49?
I am as well. I can't see myself playing it more than a time or two, though, so I'm going to pass.

One other problem with the lack of a blog post for sales is that you can't tell how much things are discounted since the store doesn't show original prices.

Sale starts: "Wow, this game is $15!"

Sale ends: "Wait, it's normally $20? fuck!"

So has anyone used suspend with disc games a lot? It seems to fail spectacularly at random for me, but maybe it's just the specific games I'm playing. It specifically likes to fail when I forget to save beforehand.

Star Ocean looks like something I could really enjoy, but I've never played one. What game(s) is it most like?
Like the Tales games. The group that does SO used to be part of the group that does the Tales series. Due to that, early SO games were very similar to Tales titles at the time, visually and combat-wise. The same is true to some extent nowadays, though they've drifted a part a bit more. SO tends to focus more on sci-fi as opposed to the fantasy focus of Tales. The graphics go more for realism instead of the blatant anime-styling. Combat in both games is still pretty similar.

Playing portal 2 with cro! just got prof portal and friends list with benefits! it is actually happening!
I bet a lot of older discs don't work? Unity won't suspend at all.
But seemed to work fine with Tomb Raider on disc just fine.

It wasn't perfect (annoying camera at times, a handful of unfair enemy types, and WTF ending), but dang, was Bloodborne fun. GotY so far, though that may change.

I really, really hope the DLC comes with more trophies.

Playstation experience is happening at my local theater. Is this actually worth going? You trying to get a ticket Cainiac?

Had every intention of playing some Magicka 2 tonight, but I ended up going to the dentist and getting some fillings so I'm all numb and uncomfortable. Funny story, I was partying in Atlantic City over the weekend with some friends. Partied a little too hard apparently because I lost consciousness while I was on my feet. Face hit the pavement and I got 7 stitches. Chipped 4 teeth. I guess that story wasnt that funny. You must've had to have been there.

So what's the verdicked?
it's for your dick.

jokes aside. it's pretty basic as far as dungeon crawlers go. you don't actually build your party. it's made up entirely of the monster girls. each having 4 "jobs" that have different skill sets and stat growths. stat growths are random too, for some odd reason. so we could use the same party to max level, but they could end up with wildly different stats. main character only supports. he can charge "desire" up to 100%, with a chance to fail the higher it goes. then release it on a monster girl to buff her next action. or he can use an item. there's 6 dungeons, and each one has a sealed area that opens after you beat the game. you have a chance to recruit the monsters you face, and equip them to a monster girl. each having different effects that can trigger in battle. you can also combine those monsters with regular panties you find in dungeons to create items/equipment.

Trying to get back into ACUnity so I can do some MP.  I completely forgot all the controls.  Also, like pharm said, blood splatter!  I just ran a guy through with my sword and his blood all shot out onto a dog that was standing behind him.  Hilarious.

Whoa, there's one less than an hour from me! I'll try to score at least one ticket tomorrow.
I'm kind of disappointed that Muvico wasn't the MD theater they picked. Not only would it be closer to me, but it'd be generally more centrally located and easier for Baltimore people. As it is, the MD and DC ones are basically right down the street from each other. It's a long street, but still.

Anyone else remember when McDonald's had hot dog nuggets?   Use to love those and the Nathan's one.

Burger King > McDonald's in burgers. I also like their tendergrill sandwiches. I usually eat them with chicken and mayonnaise only. Even their milk shakes are good (don't bother with McDonald's milkshakes).

Burger King < McDonald's in fries. McD's breakfast is also really good (except their biscuits - too flaky).

i use it constantly now. only problem is it logs you out of games (if you consider that a problem) so you just need to sign back on.

tehcro im linking my girls psn account with steam, give me a min

Last year they gave everybody $5 PSN codes and a few assorted pieces of game-related crap. I don't remember what specifically. Little pictures or something. I thought it was fun, but it's not a huge deal.

oh my god cro this takes forever, now i set her up a steam account and am adding myself as her friend and then i gotta open steam and then authorize my other username to ask for permission and then give permission but first i need to enable something called steam guard. let me write all this down hold on.

k i think i got it going.

Yeah I plan on going. I went last year but had to head into philly. Glad theres a closer one this time around. Its nothing mind blowing, but I had enough fun last year to warrant going again.

looks like anyone who's only missing a couple of those nindie bundle games can get them cheap in the code trading thread. i might go that route for them.
