I've been downloading USFIV for PS4 for the last 3 hours and i'm just over 3 gigs. Looks like Ill get to play it tomorrow...
If it's PSN that's causing the download speed issues, download the game in rest mode. Usually goes way way faster for me.

But if it's your own DL speeds then that sucks.

Witcher players- Any of you guys liking Gwent? I wasn't a fan at first but have gotten hooked-love the strategy involved.
After finally getting back into Witcher 3, I'm frankly a bit scared to get hooked on Gwent, though I know I'll have to for the plat. But come on, I want to cut monsters, not cards!

It wasn't perfect (annoying camera at times, a handful of unfair enemy types, and WTF ending), but dang, was Bloodborne fun. GotY so far, though that may change.

I really, really hope the DLC comes with more trophies.
None ever have in the past Souls games, though I don't know if that is just a Namco Bandai policy or what as (for instance) there is a TON of DLC for Dynasty Warrior's Gundam Reborn, but no new trophies. Since it's a Sony published game perhaps they will twist From's arm a bit to add more trophies.

So...jump back to Demon's Souls now?

That's the plan, though not for a little while.

I don't know if Deathinitive Edition is the best or worst thing I've ever heard.

Also super sucks that they didn't port the first one. They should own both of them, why not do both?

The Witcher hasn't been bad so far, still to early in (for me), but I guess that is the problem with a game (an RPG in 2015) having to wind up before being enjoyable. Bloodborne really knocked it out of the park with being able to hit the ground running.

So Sony had a meeting in Japan to talk about their business plans for 2015. Vita wasn't part of it, apparently.

Virtually no releases on the horizon (except Japanese screen rubbers of course) previously announced titles being abandoned, stores clearing out their physical inventories, no mention of the beloved handheld in their future strategy - this all leads me to one possible conclusion:

I thought I have seen other games say select start on the title screen.  Though they may have PS3 counterparts so they didnt make the change for PS4?  It hasnt seemed to matter for a long time though as I remember a lot of games saying to press start at the title screen yet you can hit just about any button to move forward.

This might interest a couple of people in here:

Sword Art Online: Lost Song and Sword Art Online Re: Hollow Fragment are heading West: http://www.siliconera.com/2015/05/27/sword-art-online-lost-song-coming-west-hollow-fragment-coming-to-ps4/

Lost Song (PS4/Vita) will be released in both retail () and digital formats in the fall, while Re: Hollow Fragment (PS4 port) will be released digital-only this summer.
Not expecting much on the translation tbh, I wonder if the extra screen real estate will help with the cluttered HUD. Skipped out on the last vita game because there was way too much going on UI wise on the vita screen. Did anyone here actually play it?

I think Derek did (still is?).

EDIT: Looks like he last played it more than 2 weeks ago.

Apparently this is funny because Dual Shock 4 has no Start button?

This port is really a wreck. That text is probably one of the few things they did bother to qa.

OK, well it isn't that bad, but capcom probably shouldn't have backed this third party port as the de facto usf4 version until they actually played it. glitchy, weird performance problems (the menus have lag??), spotty online and disconnects - it's actually looking a bit worse than the mkx launch. Only sf4 is a 6 year old game with an existing PC port they could've used as a starting point.

I got the image and explanation from this article:

They share your opinion of general fuckupedness.

Destructoid has their Splatoon review up: http://www.destructoid.com/review-splatoon-291959.phtml

In some ways, Splatoon's online component is disappointing, and the lack of so many features will likely push other shooter fans away. But most of those shortcomings can be forgiven in my mind because of how damn fun it is. As a shooter it's refreshing, and as a 3D platformer it's up there with some of Nintendo's greatest creations. You'll quickly forget about the fact that you're playing Turf War over and over as you squid down an alley, leap across a gap, and shoot enemies in the air as you fall. All Nintendo needs to do is keep supporting Splatoon, because the foundation is fantastic.

As an embedded SW guy, this screams problem waiting to happen to me. One minor bug when you already have the CPU at max and all hell will break loose.

So when Bloodborne is released with terrible load times and CARS and other games are released with all these bugs there is no way the devs dont know about them right? They realize they have them, release it anyway, then when people complain they come out and say they are working around the clock to fix them. Why wouldnt they just work around the clock for an extra month and release it when its done? Especially when it isnt in the holiday window?

Publisher budgets (expecting large chunk of income in May instead of June)?

Dev budgets (used all main dev monies but still have post-launch maintenance monies?)

Disc/box manufacturer contract dates to be met?

Hope we don't notice?

Booze?

Plus announcement maybe coming today (if so, probably in about 30 mins)

Ground Zeroes definitely seems possible. Japan PS+ syncs up with ours once in a while, but not all the time. Whole lot of people thinking Journey as well.

No matter how much you QA something, there will always be bugs. I like to think they don't know about them, but it is really hard to say on certain things. When working on network based stuff like MP, you typically are in perfect world scenarios where a lot of devices are essentially co-located. That does not really test the networking code since it is not real world where things travel all over the internet and experience random delays and jitter.

Working around the clock is also ridiculous. One guaranteed way to introduce more bugs is to have a tired developer working on it. You can't have quality and real schedules unless the schedules come form the developers and not some clueless project manager that just wants to hit some arbitrary date.
