fuck all you people with dishwashers that aren't your two goddamn hands.
fuck that. The technology is there and it makes life easier. However, my roommate insists we all use the dishwasher. Naaaaaaah. You have to let dishes pile up for that or youre just wasting money. I dont care if you wash them tomorrow, just wash em by hand.

I only get nervous when I'm messing with electricity because I'm really just learning everything as I go. But I've repaired our washing machine a few times, repaired our dishwasher before it finally died for good, installed a storm door, installed a garbage disposal, replaced light fixtures in the bathroom.... if I can't hook up a dishwasher than something's wrong.
I probably should be more nervous about electrical stuff myself, but since I was an EE major in college I just tell myself I should know enough of what I am doing to not end up burning down the house.

Fun fact.  I grew up with my mom and we never used the dishwasher cause it was broken or just cause she was cheap and didnt want to waste water?  Anyway, there was only two of us and washing dishes for two people is not very hard or time consuming so those of you that arent named Velo and dont have a dishwasher (Zimm) should quit bitching and just wash the damn dishes.

No one has watched and enjoyed Ray Donovan? What the fuck?
I quit halfway into the first episode. It was terrible, over-dramatic hitman soap opera bullshit.

Never watched it, which is just as odd as me not watching Masters of Sex since I think Lizzy Caplan is crazy hot.
Yes, she is. I need to get around to watching it and that's my primary motivation. I should watch The Interview as well, I guess.

Eva Green is why I want to watch Penny Dreadful. :D/

trash.

I was the only one who washed dishes at my house growing up because no one else "could" clean them good enough and it grossed me out... fell for it hook, line, and sinker.

I wash all the dishes because my wife is a lazy slob. When I was growing up I tended to do them as well because my sister and dad are terrible at it. Even when we had a dishwasher they couldn't even be bothered to fill it properly and would put everything in weird ways that made less fit than it should.

The danger is what makes doing electrical exciting though! That and knowing that when you go to sell the inspector will notice that you tied your grounds to the inside of the box.

My wife is pretty gung ho about this sort of thing so we've taken our kitchen to studs and remodeled the whole thing ourselves (including rerunning old iron pipe gas lines which can go fuck themselves in both ends), replaced every appliance and outlet and a bunch of electrical lines and fixtures and faucets and toilets and doors and a ceiling and walls and pretty much everything else in the house.

And I'll still pay a motherfucker to install an appliance.

I've got a dishwasher in the new place but I haven't used it. Probably never will. Grew up doing dishes for 5+ people at home, where even rinsing and dropping most things in the dishwasher took a solid chunk of time.

Washing a plate or pot for 1 or 2 people is 10x quicker and easier to just do by hand.

Besides, I thought if I didnt pay for Best Buy to install the appliance that they wouldnt take away the old one.  Is Top going to have a fight with those dudes when they say they arent taking it?

Also, why test it Top?  They arent paying you for it are they?

We use our dishwasher all the time.

We also have a robot vacuum, a Neato, as well, anything to automate menial tasks is ok in my book.

Anybody who says that doing dishes by hand is easier/faster than using a dishwasher is completely insane.

Yes, they are taking it. If not on the truck then up their ass.

And I was testing it to make sure I shut off the right breaker. It was already on its last leg and I wanted to make sure when I turned it on and nothing happened that it was because it didn't have any juice and not because it was broken.

Goddamn, no wonder you don't install anything you crazy bastard.

Party Down was on Starz and I think it is on netflix, if not the seasons are really cheap on amazon, like $6 each. Other shows I enjoyed on there were Black Sails, Da Vinci's Demons and the legacy series Magic City, Spartacus, and Boss.

Yeah, I have had Starz since it aired. I just never watched that show. I loved Spartacus but I think it is the only Starz show I ever watched.

I never really found her attractive but she is in the show. If you already liked her before then you should really like her in this. And not just because she shows some skin.

I've only seen the 1st season but I really enjoyed everyone's storylines. Her character gives the female perspective of sex and deals with some of the issues of the time.

Okay, nuff fucking around... I need to clean up that mess.  I basically just let it sit there for awhile so I could take a much deserved beer break.

You all teach this poor guy how to run a dishwasher while I'm gone.

Did you really just claim that a show will be good because of a preview? Really?!?!

I will say that it should be good, but how the hell are we supposed to know. The original season was a long drawn out process that spawned a great show by what I remember being one writer and one director. This season is a rush job because of the popularity of season 1 and last I heard was a collaborative effort from a group of writers with multiple directors. I plan to watch and I hope it is as good as last season, but there is no way to know that from a preview after a large shift in how the show was handled creatively.

I am also one of the few that is probably more interested in Tim Riggins (Kitsch) being in it than I am Vaughn and Farrell.
Texas forever.

Guys, it's just a dishwasher... connect a few lines and slide it in. Done.

Saving myself a hundred bucks by doing it myself like a real man.... standing in a puddle of water with no pants on.
Just make sure you are making the electrical connections with the power on. That is how the last 3 electricians I have used at work or at home (for 120 anyway) do it.

fuck AC:Unity BTW. Was playing some co op yesterday and the pressure release valve went off and wouldn't properly close. You can bet your ass I am having a plumber fix that shit tomorrow.

Really well done article about race in video games/media. I know people hate Polygon but I really do enjoy their editorials and opinion pieces like this. http://www.polygon.com/2015/6/3/8719389/colorblind-on-witcher-3-rust-and-gamings-race-problem

Personally I think it's cool that Rust decided to randomly generate races. Then again I'm non-white and non-male so anytime a protagonist differs from the status quo I'm usually for it.

They mention the Witcher 3 which only has white people. This quote was funny but true and also applies to Game of Thrones and similar media.
Further, the defense of excluding people of color from a fantasy game is nonsensical. We are talking about being comfortable with the inclusion of wraiths and magic, but not the mere existence of people of color. Accuracy and realism flew out the window with the harpies.

Are you busy Saturday afternoon? I could use some handyman services. Specifically the storm door and a defective GFCI outlet. I will buy you a Dominos pizza.

Polygons editorials can be pretty good. Not a huge fan of their reporting, but I definitely sit down to read the editorials pretty often.

I also thought the Rust random generation was pretty awesome. I'm still not too far in Witcher, but I had noticed that there were only white people in the starting areas. Shame that doesn't change as the game moves on, figured I'd run in to a couple different characters eventually.

I'm surprised by how many of you would rather pay someone to fix/install something than do it yourself if you can.

I love being able to repair random things around the house.

Guys, Verizon has a new feature that I dont know how I lived without before now!!!

A PERSONALIZED VIDEO of my BILL!   I dont know how I paid my bill correctly before!

There's some things that are completely doable, but still worth paying the money to have done. Like oil changes. Easy job, but definitely worth the $20-30 to not worry about the cleanup and disposal of the oil

So I just got 2 calls at home which annoys the fuck out of me. The first one says Sir were a company that does contracting what do you need done? I tell them I already have a contractor and to remove me from the list. The lady tells me that I need a new roof because you should replace it every 5 years. Then she says they can come next week because the workers are booked. If people believe that shit it's a sad world. I didn't say shit about the roof. I finished by calling her an idiot.

The second call was about 10 min later. This guy tells me that they came to clean our air ducts and service the furnance 4 months ago and it need to be done again. Then goes on about this special they are running and the service only takes an hour. Before I could say anything he says I'm free this week and next week, when can I come by. I told him that we already have a service company and then insists he's telling not lying. I called him an idiot too.

These calls happen throught the day because lots of contractors are hurting for business. There's lots of companies that when you say you already have a contractor they say I'll remove your name.

I think it is cool that Rust did that too. I like to assume most people are like me in that they play a game they think would be interesting regardless of what type of character role you are put in. Unfortunately all people do not think the same as the article pointed out.

At the same time, I am not going to think that the makers of the Witcher 3 were doing something awful by only having white characters in the game if that happened to be the way it was designed. Of course the ideal would be for the human race in the game to really cover the human race, and it makes me wonder why they would choose to do that. If the fantasy angle is their only ammo then that is pretty sad, but I just wouldn't want to immediately cry racism (which I am not saying anyone is) because of it. Now, if they had a character creator and you could not pick anything but a white character that would definitely be a problem.

As a white male with no frame of reference I have always wondered what is worse in the eyes of minorities? An all white character game like Witcher 3 or a show like Game of Thrones where the only non-white characters are usually slaves (the Dothraki are the only exception I can think of at the moment).

i don't have a dishwasher. I wash all our stuff with my hands. I also enjoy vacuuming and laundry. I find it relaxing.

With your amount of kids I was allowing you to complain about washing the dishes since it is a big time chore. But if you like it more power to you. I dont like washing dishes or doing laundry but I dont find them a big deal. Though I do like vacuuming too! Not cause its relaxing though but because I like a clean floor since I try to never wear shoes in the house and want to keep the carpet and wood nice for as long as I can.

this! and you keep a poor fuck er like me in a job!

granted, i will do most things myself unless the cost isn't much higher than what i'm buying.

Witcher 3 id chalk up to the dev being in Poland, which is whiter than Utah.

Game of Thrones is based on a work of literature written by an Old White Dude.

Also there are some people of color in there that are not slaves, Dothraki that are already mentioned, and the Dornish. But yea not a lot of diversity in Westeros for sure, more accross the narrow sea in the free cities, but overall its mostly white people.
