Hockey goals just seem random. Get a lucky deflection off an opponents stick and win.
Hockey has much more randomness involved than other sports. There's still definitely skill there, but yeah players are regularly paid off for just throwing the puck in front of the net.

Can't decide if I just haven't got the hang of it or if the controls in About a Blob are just that bad. Even as early as in the first world there are sections which require a lot of precision and none of the movement mechanics feel very precise (which is probably by design I guess since the main character is a giant blob of goo), repel and attract specifically are a pretty big cluster fuck if there is more than one metal surface close by. So far it's a pretty big disappointment compared to their follow-up Guacamelee.

Mutant Blobs Attack is their direct follow-up and is way better than About a Blob. About a Blob had a lot of really weird and annoying little collectible dots to that required a ton of momentum and precision to pick them up. I didn't have major issues with the controls besides that, but everything feels way better in Mutant Blobs Attack.

PC Gamer PSA - parent company of Desura/Indie Royale filed for bankruptcy so if you bought any games/have any keys on those sites that you want to keep, you should grab them now.

This was probably the hardest part of the whole game. It was so damn cheap especially on the sections where the road curves and you can't tell where an attack is going to hit as a result. Huge pain in the ass.

Finally watching the AC: Syndicate gameplay videos. I haven't played or watched much of Unity, and having just played AC2 the buildings and streets and everything in Syndicate are absolutely huge.  The difference in scale is just ridiculous. Now I really want to get caught up.

How do you see which cars friends used on Motorstorm for their best times?  Maybe I made this up in my head, but I could have sworn I read somewhere that there was a way.

I think there's no functional difference between the different cars within the same class. For the longest time I thought the different cars had different capabilities but eventually I think I realized it was just the power of suggestion. I definitely could be wrong though, I never looked it up or did any real testing.

Interesting... so I downloaded 34836593047 cars just to drive around like a rubber ducky or a fucking hot dog.

And cars in this game be flipping over and spinning out for no damn reason. If i was racing one of these in real life and my car was jumping all over the damn place like it does in this game, you'd see me walking out on the race track and godzilla stomping everything... nobody's getting out alive.

Oh, and I got the gold in a drift challenge today after several attempts only to find out when the leaderboard popped up at the end that you beat my time by a whole 9 seconds.... just who the fuck do you think you are?

Swapper is pretty interesting. Doesn't really explain what's going on at first so getting into it took a bit, but I'm around halfway through and enjoying it quite a bit now. The puzzles require a bit of thought but aren't annoying.

Definitely using a trophy guide, though. The trophies are for collectibles that you don't come across naturally at all. I've no idea how people found the things in the first place.

Just bought condoms for the first time in nearly 15 years.

The Indian looking girl checking me out was pretty cute and seemed unphased when I put them down with the rest of the groceries. Really tempted to talk to her. Maybe next time.

The 360 version trades in to Gamestop for $19.20 after 50% + PUR bonuses, FYI. The 50% bonus might be ending today (Sunday), but supposedly a flyer for Batman-related stuff says it'll last another week.

Is that still active? The 360 version isn't showing up on the website for trade in value search anymore.

Target apparently has Witcher 2 for $42 now. Plus, they have a free $5 gift card when you buy two qualifying household essentials (toilet paper, dryer sheets, etc)

You could get Witcher 2 for 37 bucks and stock up on shitter paper at the same time.

I tried to get into the Evil Within this morning.  2 hours in still have no idea what weapons kill what.  I use an axe which I liked but then picked something else up to try it and my axe is gone forever?  Only got up to Chap 3.  I think I am near the end but can't figure out how to kill the boss.  Not enough ammo and the weapons so far have no punch.
Even the cross bow seemed to do nothing to the butcher.

Looking at a guide / walkthrough I was on the right track on how to kill him but without a guide this game seems like it will be ridiculously hard/annoying.  Half the time I was running around trying to figure out where I was supposed to go next. I think I am going to trade this off and move on.

The axe/torch are one use+one hit kill weapons. I don't remember that picking something else up made the first ohk weapon disappear, but maybe.

Matches are useful. You can kneecap a couple guys to make them fall on top of each other with only a couple bullets and run up and burn them both with one match. That's one way to conserve ammo.

It definitely follows the formula of starting out underpowered. Upgrade when you can, putting gel in stamina/running and your early weapon of choice. Later on the crossbow becomes much much more helpful. flash bolts with practice and speed can help you take out three or four guys with one once upgraded (you can melee kill them while stunned). I think the harpoon bolt becomes really overpowered too once maxed but I haven't actually tried it.

I still think that you have to hang in there until chapter 5 or so before it gets good, but outside of velo and vig I haven't seen anyone else in the thread enjoy it like we have so maybe it's just a love it or hate it game.
