IMO, TLoU feels much better on harder difficulties--the AI was brutal but conquerable on Survivor and you had to use stealth to conserve ammo. It felt so good to clear out an area without getting detected or using any ammo.
I don't particularly love stealth so that doesn't sound fun to me at all.

So final Last of Us thoughts:

The game got much better after the first few chapters. On normal difficulty, almost no stealth is mandatory after the first few chapters, so anyone holding out because it's a stealth game should probably play it.

The story is good, even though the ending sucked major balls in my opinion. The setting/landscapes are probably the best part of the game, really makes the game feel like it's telling an epic story. The gunplay is really good I think.

What's not as good as the long stretches of mindless walking and the puzzles. Puzzles are super simple and essentially filler, and a lot of the walking feels like filler too. The stealth, if you choose to do so, isn't great. the game breaks its own rules a few times, particularly with one of the enemies.

Although the gameplay is basically the same, the story in Left Behind is much better, and one of the better stories I ever recall seeing in a game.

Definitely didn't live up to the hype, I think I prefer both Uncharted 2 and 3 over this game, but I'm happy I finally played it.

3.5 Diamonds
Sounds about right. Those first few chapters were pretty rough both in terms of stealth and pure length. Too much walking around at the beginning. I liked it much better when it got into run and gun mode later on.

Another Last of Us thing:

Was cool that the game's final portion takes place in Salt Lake City. However that doesn't look anything like Salt Lake City. There's a big tunnel section in the game which is funny since we have no tunnels here. Also no St Mary's Hospital.

The Illusionist, which I didn't actually see, but funny that two big time magician movies came out so close together.

And Prestige is definitely my favorite non-Batman Nolan. It actually may be my favorite Nolan film period. That and Dark Knight would be hard for me to figure out which I like best.

That is often the case that mechanics shine through when difficulty forces their use. I hardly had to use the dodge roll and throws on guacamelee on normal but they become a necessity to stay alive on hard difficulty. In Spec-Ops: The Line I hardly made use of squad commands at all or used stealth or environmental hazards on normal, but relied on them constantly on hard difficulty. Though the best recent example of games I have played was probably El Shaddai as what would be a mindless button-masher on easy completely changes on higher difficulties.

This pro might have to retire. No indication that this is temporary, just have to wait and see. I guess I'm fine with vodka if it proves a problem.

Just cracked open the first bottle of the night; haven't drank since the beginning of April.
Hope you get everything figured out. I hope for your sake it is not Celiac disease as it sounds based on your post.

I loved the Prestige, much better than that competing Edward Norton movie that came out around the same time.
The Illusionist was alright, but yeah did not compare well to Prestige. Rufus Sewell has been good in everything I've seen him in, though. Not sure what about Dark City it is, but I've always really liked that movie, and it's the first thing I saw him in. Edward Norton and Paul Giamatti are also both great.

I did. I said that in the previous post. I think all ps4 games upload automatically so I probably have to go back in and delete old shit when I turn my ps4 back on again.
Ah, missed that one.

Naw, I'm having some really bad acid reflux but still not sure if it's linked to anything else. It's been so bad that I've been vomiting from it, which I didn't even know was possible. Throwing up nothing but stomach acid is not fun. I've had to sleep sitting up since April and was basically living off of crackers the whole time since everything seemed to aggravate it. I can't really tell if the meds are helping or not; one day I'll be fine and the next it flares back up. Maybe just need a stronger dose.

Still waiting on biopsy results but I'm not really worried about that; just being done to cover the bases.

Anyone know how much space you het for saved data on the ps+ cloud? I need to know if a fucking 35 mb hulu plus save is a lot. Deleted anyway because why does hulu have a save file?
minecraft is a killer on my space. my kids have like 250 mbs of minecraft. same with like 200 mb of alien isolation saves. most games it is between 10-20mbs tho. but some games just go crazy. iv had to delete lots of my kids minecraft worlds cuz they are so huge.

Had a pretty bad headache tonight so I wanted to play something that was more laid back.  Decided to pick up where I left off with FFXIII.  I want to like the game, I really do, but for some reason to me it's just soooooooooo damn boring.  And I hate the characters.  Literally all of them.  This is one of those instances where I really hope everyone dies at the end.

This is the second time I've started this game up and I really want to at least finish the story, but at the same time I don't know how much more time I want to waste with this if I'm really not into it.  I already know the grind for the plat is going to be too much for me to stomach... I would rather play through FO3 for the upteenth time.

You don't get to give me shit for bad jokes today. :whistle2:$
I dont give you shit for bad jokes. I give you shit for hating everything with obtuse reasoning.

I have no idea if I used obtuse right in that sentence. Someone mentioned Shawshank Redemption on the radio this morning so I needed to use that word.

"How can you be so obtuse?!"

Kind of. It doesn't really work with reasoning at the end of it. It's a strange phrase, like saying "dull reasoning."

It's a fun word and should always be associated with Shawshank Redemption, yeah.

Armature -- the company tasked to port Bloodstained to the Wii U and now the PS Vita -- has listed what it hopes to achieve in the Vita version:

Music Export – We thought it would be awesome to be able to export the game’s music to the Vita’s music library. So we’re going to do that.

PS4 Cross Save Support – Obviously, we’ll need to work with the PS4 dev team on this, but we’ve done cross save before and we’d love to do it again.

Touch Screen Support – Remember how we mentioned drawing on the map on the WiiU version? Why not do that for Vita too? And scrub around the map with your finger as well.

PlayStation TV - We’ll also make sure that the game is fully playable on the PS TV.
Dunno the source, I just copied it from another forum that didn't list one.

I thought it was highly hilarious that the same day the Burger King was shown sitting behind the owner of American Pharaoh at Belmont, Burger King announced they were cutting ties with one of their suppliers that has been linked to horse meat.

Last of Us:

Terrible ending. I tried to let the fireflies kill Joel a bunch of times, but it wouldn't let me. They should have made it so you could make a decision at the end. Was really fucking stupid killing a bunch of innocent people who were working on saving humanity.
I liked the ending

Specifically, I liked the fact that you didn't have a choice because it was up to Joel, not the player. I feel like the "make a big binary decision at the end of the game" is shoe-horned in too often and not all that satisfying in terms of story telling. I think with the push for there to be better narratives in games you have to remove some choice. Because if you really are trying to tell a story with well developed characters you feel like you know or whatever, they should behave in a way that's consistent with that.

But that's just me.

Oh and seriously, somebody talk about last night's Game of Thrones with me. I have no IRL friends who follow.

That Stannis scene might be one of the most uncomfortable things I've watched on TV

Last week I loved the departures from the book. This week not so much.
Although in the interviews after the show the two producers said Martin fed them the scene, which means it's happening in the book for a different reason? Maybe to resurrect Jon Snow is a theory I've seen.

Finally saw Avengers: Age of Ultron yesterday with my boys. They loved it. Should have been called Avengers: Age of Megatron. That was the same voice actor, wasn't it? It was decently fun, but I think I might be Marveled out.

I don't understand my trophy card. I have never played Kingdom Hearts. The trophies shown are right, though: I played a bunch of Guacamelee PS4 last night.

I know what it is about Dark City. Richard O'Brien was in it. Great flick.

No. Ultron is James Spader. Megatron is other people.

Yeah, I saw that same behind the scenes thing. It might not even need to be a different reason in the books. Unless I'm remembering wrong, Stannis is still freezing in the north and running out of food at the end of ADWD. Melisandre and Shereen are back at the wall. He could maybe send word to have the sacrifice done and he just wouldn't be there for it. I dunno.

I rather liked how the Dany stuff played out. The big Sons of the Harpy attack was more exciting than what happened in the book.
