I suspect they'll probably both require about the same amount of work - if I had to guess the core thing they'll have to do is scale back a bunch of the ue4 features/effects with target ifdefs to make it run at some sort of reasonable framerate and create compile targets for the two different machines. Maybe they can just reuse the existing mobile device code to some extent (which I think is an existing target)? I'd also guess that they'll actually touch a fraction of the ue4 code (just enough to get bloodstained running), but who knows. Announcing that they'll share their work means that professional pride will definitely be a factor in the quality of the final product so hopefully that's good. But they also made the map for that vita Batman game.

My point was more that the amount of stuff needing to be stripped out was likely going to be lower on Vita than it would be on Wii U. Neither will be a trivial amount of work I am sure.

The map for that Batman game did suck, but the rest of the game was actually pretty good. That gives me hope they will do a good job.

As Armature said, though, they have lots of experience with the Vita. They ported MGS, Blackgate, Injustice, and Unfinished Swan to it. I've only played Injustice and aside from the low-res (acceptable at 60fps IMO), it played perfectly. I've never heard any technical issues about any of the other games. I think they're probably the best studio for the job.

Their only experience with the Wii U is with Blackgate. Not saying they won't do as good of a job with that, but I'd expect them to have an easier time porting UE4 to Vita due to the difference in how much time they've spent with each system.

Apparently the driveclub devs are finally wrapping up the ps+ version.  Meanwhile, I'm getting ready to take it back to the library.  I think the game is cool I guess, but so far I haven't found it any more entertaining than nfs rivals and if you like ye olde tropheez it seems to have a for real grind (i.e. after you finish acing all the races you're halfway to the xp goal I guess?).  I'm hoping to get derek's club up to level 10 before I take it back so we can get that fancy trophy and watch the tt score climb when the ps+ version drops.

You think so? In my mind I always assumed the wiiu had a bit more oomph than the vita but I really have no idea.

but yeah, armature is awesome. they make good ports and they are one of the de facto vita wizards in the field at the moment.

I'll give it a whirl in spite of the F2P model. The first one was fantastic.
Yeah I never tried the online for the first one til it was too late, now I regret it. Solo seemed fun but big maps made it hard to get in to. I'll do some DD2 with ya, hopefully the F2P isn't too overbearing.

Yeah I'll definitely be down for that. I played the first primarily with a dedicated partner on the 360. Ocassionally with some randoms padded in on the hardest difficulty setting maps. Its a really great experience coordinating turret placements and calling out breaches with at least one other person. I had one of each class leveled up and the cool thing was that with only two people (or even solo) you could still access all of the traps/turrets because it allowed you to switch characters between waves allowing for class synergy no matter what. The only issue was you had to have the classes leveled up in order for their turrets to not be underpowered and useless compared to your main.

Shadow Warrior is the only time I wouldnt mind some Wang in my face. Still probably the most fun I have had with any game on PS4
After looking at my PS4 list, Wolfenstein and Resogun are really the only games that come all that close. Shadow of Mordor, Infamous and The Order are just below that. The rest were okay/fun for a short time or bad.

Platinum are huge trolls online. who knows what they have planned. i just hope its not an exclusive on a console i dont own.

Crazy how do you not know platinum. that's is fucking insane. i didnt know you were so terrible.
I dont always know who makes every game, because I'm not some neck-bearded mouth breather! And whats so great about them?? They haven't made too much. I've never played any of their games, and the only one I'd be interested in is Bayonetta

Their claim to fame was just making one killer game after another. The studio was formed by members of the capcom studio who made Viewtiful Joe / Okami / God Hand and then they went on a streak of making Bayonetta -> Vanquish -> Anarchy Reigns (which I guess people liked who played it) -> Metal Gear Rising. They've recently made Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta 2 both of which I guess were ok and that Legend of Korra game which was apparently a bomb.

But mostly Bayonetta and Vanquish.

Yeah and if you dont like Vanquish you dont like video games.

Of course, I couldnt get into Bayonetta so feel free to say the same thing about me.

Supposedly there is a push to get a pro soccer team in Milwaukee. I think I'd rather get an NHL team, but are any of you soccer guys even into MLS. Or is it international soccer all the way in here.

I haven't played vanquish, and it's far down the backlog. Maybe it's milds frustration that he mentions daily with that chapter 6 or whatever it was that hurt my interest.
I remember disliking Viewtiful Joe back on the ps2, but Okami I want to try soonish. Before vanquish at least!

bayonetta always felt like a more complicated devil may cry to me. obviously I'm not good at either.

that main mechanic of bayonetta with the timed dodging - I can see how someone wouldn't get in to that. I remember the game being pretty fun though just mashing through it and a visual delight.

vanquish really is some sort of uber leader of all video game-kind though. was there someone in the thread that actually actively disliked it? I can't remember.

I finally watched the Shadow Warrior 2 trailer.  Still the same great humor and music.  Graphics might even be improved a bit.  Cant fuck ing wait!  HHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

the challenge things that I bitch about are optional / outside of the main game things. don't let that deter you. they're also fun as balls, the last one is just really tough. but playing through the main campaign (which I don't think is terribly difficult at all) should be a near term goal for anyone that enjoys games.

there's no way, but if that tweet really is foreshadowing some sort of vanquish announcement I'm going to completely lose it.

I'll try to move the game up. My video game habits are pretty terrible. I end up not playing so many "good" games I have, and play through a ton of little shitty games. Its always hard to startup a bigger game not knowing if I'll be able to spend a lot of time with it. And trophies too, those bastards.

I just played through the story on Normal and got 35 of the 50 trophies. Its been a while but reviewing my list it looks like I left a lot of misc trophies that I probably could have gone for and gotten so you can get a lot of trophies from Vanquish even if you dont get the plat by playing on hard and doing all the challenges.

hey velo, someone got that baby boomer trophy from exploding zoo.  apparently the devs stated that it's still technically possible because there's a miniscule variation in spawn rate every time the level starts.  no patch yet that I can tell.

I played some Vanquish but didn't get too far. Got stuck for an hour or so at one boss type battle and gave up. Was fun but I am not interested in games that frustrated me too much. Challenging is one thing rage inducing is another.

I'm at least one, don't even care to have it in my collection. Love Bayonetta though.

Yup.

More interested in MLS here. I like some of the international teams, but it's way harder for me to get super interested in teams so far away.

MLS games are pretty fun though, especially if you go to the games with more dedicated supporters sections. Good tickets are usually pretty reasonable price wise. Hopefully it works out for them.

Legend of Korra was a fun game with a cool look. Terrible runner portions and story, though.
Don't forget the terrible pro-bending segments.

The core game was fun though, a bit frustrating at times until you could get the timing down on the attacks. But overall a lot of fun.

Well, the pro-bending was mostly just the minigame. It was barely in the campaign. It did suck, though.

The thing about Korra is that they really had no idea of the source material. It was pretty clear that they were just paying lipservice to it, which is why the story was terrible (nonexistent, really) and none of the other characters were in the game. OTOH it released at $15 so it's hard to be too critical.

I think they fixed it so that when glitches make games show up for negative amounts the sale will no longer go through. Too bad, that.

3 minutes!

I've been dreaming of Wisconsin getting their very own NHL team for forever, so even though I don't really live there, I'd prefer that.

Minneapolis just got an MLS team, so I'll go check that out with the boy eventually. Kinda excited about it actually.
