Why are so many of these day 1 plus games ins such shitty shape? kinda defeats the purpose of giving us new games when they're in almost unplayable condition.

I can't even name a ps3 game that's crashed on me more than once. And even that I'd have to really think about. I've never played the fallout games though.

It all depends on whether or not it's awesome. I'm really looking forward to seeing it in action though - if we're actually living in an era where a game can successfully recreate an 80s cartoon I don't know what's going to happen to the wallets of nostalgic thirty-somethings. But I know it'll be gruesome.

One thing the original game had over the sequel is some slightly unique weapons. In Madness Returns it's remote-mine alternative skin, gatling gun alt skin, big hammer alt skin, knife alt skin, and grenade launcher alt skin.

I haven't been eating healthier per se, but I have been more cautious about reading nutrition facts and stuff like that. Things like this crack me up. One of these is vanilla ice cream and one is Greek Gods Greek Style Honey Yogurt: (spoilered cuz huge)

Cracks me up. I'm sure there's a few people out there who think they're eating "healthy greek yogurt" that might as well just have a cup of far more delicious ice cream instead.

I hate myself for doing it, but I would be foolish not to. Ness alone will pay for almost 2 full amiibos that I'll actually want to keep. The Gold Mario I just sold will pay for another 2.

Blame Nintendo for making it have to be this way. I really hope they finally flood the market around the holidays and bring all the resellers' prices down.

Yeah I dont have any real hopes of that happening though. The reason I find it so frustrating is because I literally want to collect them because I actually want the set. I'm not one of the people who only wants it cause its rare, as I have a complete Disney Infinity set and those things are legit flooded. I just want a complete set because I love the characters and gaming.
 
Had to have a customer service rep help me out with figuring out where the serial/barcode is on the Vita. (it's not where the picture shows. not for the slim version)

Still haven't got my email yet for the shipping instructions to send it in for repair; which is a little worrisome.

I'd hate to be without a vita too long, I'm never up late enough to play the ps3 anymore.

The older model comes with an A/V cord that can plug into the PS3 (not sure if PS4 has the same port) that gets around the HDCP encoding built into the console. This HD60 model doesn't include that A/V cord and you'll need to purchase something like this that will bypass the HDCP protection in order to stream using it.

The A/V cord also only goes up to 720p, which isn't a huge deal for PS3 games but it is for the XMB, where the text is noticeably more blurry in 720p than in 1080p with an HDMI cable. My suggestion is, no matter which model of El Gato you buy, count on the additional $25 for an HDCP splitter. You'll be happier in the long run.

I don't actually use anything besides the included software to stream, but you could certainly use XSplit or OBS with this device to make your streaming setup better. I don't know how well it works on any console older than a ps3, but mine works really well for my ps3 and ps vita. I don't use it with my PS4 because I'm fine with the built in streaming software on the PS4. I don't archive any of my ps3 or pstv capture footage and haven't messed with video editing at all, but I'm sure it the el gato would be jsut find for that as well.

I've mentioned it before, but if this amiibo thing happened 10-15 years ago when I was a huge Nintendo guy, I certainly would have wanted to collect them all as well. I would have just been crushed not being able to get some of my favorites because of how rare they are. Luckily I'm not in that situation anymore but I'm sure there are many people who are and it's fucking bullshit that it's near impossible to get many of them at MSRP and that you're looking at 3x MSRP or more for some of them at this point.

This would have been the thing that would have got me starting to really dislike Nintendo.

 
Also the Doom movie is on. I am sure you nerds will have typical nerd complaints but I loved it. Pure dumb fun.

TMNT: Danger of the Ooze has crashed on my son and me 3 times today since we started it up. For the record, it's a very generic and really short metroidvania style game that will likely be easily forgotten. How short? One of the trophies is to speedrun the game in less than an hour. We're going a lot slower with it though since I'm putting him at the helm, but I wouldn't be surprised if we had the plat sometime tonight, depending of course on how many times I have to restart our PS3.

Edit: Nevermind, he has just informed me that this shit game has exhausted him and he needs to take a nap. Plat delayed until further notice.

The GameStop employee I dealt with today was a fucking retard. I picked up my two games, $19.98 before tax. He puts in both my coupons, and they both work so my total is $0. He tells me "Wait that can't be right." So I say well they're $20 and I had $20 in coupons." So he keeps arguing with me, and starts to read the fine print on the coupons. Ok, whatever, fine. Oh that one says can't be combined. Ok, no sweat, but it clearly worked so just let it go, jackass. So he tells me he can't do it and has to take it off. Then the dude who I'm guessing is the manager comes over and sees he's having a hard time, so he asks how to take a coupon off. The manager asks him why he would do that and he says oh it's not supposed to be used with any other offer. The manager basically looks at him like he's the biggest idiot and says well if it worked, just let it go through.

I was ready to just accept the fact that this dude wasn't going to let me use both coupons, but at least the other guy came over and basically had the who the fuck cares attitude and let it go through.
 
My kid tried recording our N64 with the older Elgato. It could record it but the problem is the feed to the TV was not a format it could display. So you need a TV that can handle that through HDMI otherwise it isn't possible to play anything.
