I have no doubts that your furnace works just fine keeping your house warm; after all warm air rises, so even with poor air flow the warm air will gradually make it to the top floor. How an A/C system works is sound engineering, but the actual concept of an A/C system, using cold air to cool a warm house, flies in the face of the the first two laws of thermodynamics; which is why A/C systems cost so much and use so much energy. A poorly designed/installed duct system could be your problem; especially based off of your 'lighter' test.

I check my filter regularly and it is almost never even the least bit dirty...

Wait, are your filters not dirty cause you change them often? Or are they like never dirty even after a couple months? If they are never dirty even after a month or two, you have a problem. It should be sucking shit through there and capturing particles. If it isnt, your not getting enough suction! That means two things!

Making the opening bigger has no effect unless you actually make the ductwork bigger all the way back to the unit it feeds. A 3' square opening feeding into a 2' square duct still only gives the airflow of the 2' section.

Rather than having random internet gurus talk about how to fix your AC you should have somebody look at it. Some power companies do energy efficiency checks for free and that might identify issues without having the strong sales pitch component.

I've had someone look at it and diagnose it as an air flow issue. Was just discussing it with these guys.

 
Yeah, Therm is right.  Energy company should come out and do a free audit for you to identify issues.  TECO does that here once a year or something.  They will tell you whats wrong with it and to throw it away cause its trashed.

And Therm ruins everything.  Confirmed.

 
none of us can truly say what's wrong but how old is the air conditioning unit?  then again you also said heat doesn't flow well either.

In-laws just had the furnace die and because it was still trying to run it fried their AC unit as well.  They have been quoted by numerous companies $10,000 - $15,000 to have both fixed.

It is certainly possible, but you need an actual HVAC person to investigate the real root cause. It could be blocked returns, size of the returns, a bad or improperly wired blower motor, or possibly other things I have never even heard of as an issue.

You may not even have ducts on the return. I dont in my house. It just uses a void in between the dry wall and studs. If you have the same, then there is no making that bigger.

Well I ended up doing the opposite of what I said earlier and just polished off all but one of the challenges/side missions available to me. I'll get to the story missions soon, I guess.

$40 at GS till 7/22. I think BB will keep their value fairly high as well,similar to GTA.

Weird the GS app shows $33 for it. I guess it is a promo that doesn't show up on the app. Like weekend before last when they gave extra value on some games.

The guaranteed-TIV promos are separate ones that boost the base TIVs up to whatever the guaranteed value is, and you can get 10% of the base if you have PUR--so for Arkham Knight, you'd get $43.30.

 
Not sure anyone cares at all, but just to confirm its existence my library posted a listing for Helldivers: Super Earth Edition on disc for ps4 today.  I also managed to get first in line for the Dishonored remaster and Brothers ps4 (since I've never either why not).

You're library seems more up to date on video games than most Best Buy and Gamestop employees.

So not only do you get a bunch of games for free (way more than anyone at IA, btw) but they're also managed really well and posted ahead of time.

fuckin' A. Someone posted an asian listing for a Helldivers disc but no confirmation for a US release. Hopefully that bodes well as I'll throw my money at a physical copy.

No argument here, I'm pretty spoiled by it and deserve any and all asshole comments. I forgot that I had the new batman on hold and it was ready for pickup a couple days ago. I'll probably still get paid a couple bucks to play it via bby release rental, but it's pretty ridiculous that I can play it the week of release for free for 7 days.

Edit - just got first in line for the talos principle too. The asshole is me!

A lot of you guys in here have weird tastes in women. A nice rack is great, but when they're over exaggerated to the point of ridiculousness it just looks like a bad cartoon. A lot of the faces you guys seem to fawn over I just don't get either.
