Played a little of The Unfinished Swan this weekend.  It gave me the beginnings of a Wolfenstein 3D  Headache.   I think it was because I was moving around while
painting the world under my feet
!   So I think I can keep it from happening again when I give it a second try (as the game is dang cool and I want to experience the rest of it).  But as is, I figured I'd give a word of warning to others out there that may be curious about the game.

The release list this week looks pretty full, but thankfully for my wallet I don't plan to buy any of it on release.

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, I've looked at that several times on steam and read the user reviews and while I think I'd enjoy it, I'm just not sure it's something that I need to play any time soon.  Eventually though I'd like to pick it up on the cheap as I feel the experience will be good but more in lines with Brothers A Tale of Two Sons, Papo & Yo, and so on.  Good games worth experiencing but maybe not great.

Disgaea 3 being on PSTV is cool.  It's nice seeing the PSTV get more support as I've been putting more time in playing the system (and loving the dang tiny thing).  I just need to finally play Disgaea Hour of Darkness on my PS3 to decide if I actually like the series before buying more Disgaea games.

I just want to agree about rocket league. This game will grab fans of soccer, bumper cars and driving games. Don't sleep on this one, give it a try. I haven't had the courage to battle online. I'm struggling with bots teammates that are better than I am.
 
I actually just came in here to see if everyone was enjoying Rocket League as much I am.

Bots are ok, but playing online with actual people is the true magic. I especially like 2v2 matches.

Online was broken for me until the patch, but I have been loving it since. Nice pick up and play game.

Crypt of the Necrodancer is outstanding but once I cleared it three or four times with different characters I cooled on it fast. It's masterfully taut and far better than BoI in my opinion but once you've seen the content there's not much else to it. It's a really sharp turn based puzzler with well balanced bits and pieces but since they are randomly assembled it loses out in the long run due to randomness not being clever enough to carry the good bits.

Absolutely fun for the several days of play it will take for you to get good and then you'll be done with it.

Now I think BoI is garbage but I think it works with randomness better because it is a game where you glom a bunch of random crap onto you and become overpowered (Until the game puts two bosses in every room so even when you're overpowered the game slows to a boring-ass crawl.) so it's random from top to bottom and thus plays well in that field. It's more replayable just from variety but Necrodancer's just a tighter more interesting game all around.

EDIT: Oh geez Raiden 4 Overkill is coming to PC. Why do I even BUY console games? Ever?

Just a heads up, PlayStation Mobile purchases will be taken down after tomorrow's store update. You'll be able to redownload them until September 10th. Brave the awful interface and get some cool games while you can.

Also, if you have/are going to get MUSYNC, you can get the DLC for free: just set your Vita's clock forward to September 11th or later and download. Heck, the devs are telling you to.

What are some good PSM games to get before they go down?

I'm thinking of getting "Oh Deer," the "Chaos Rings" games, and MUSYNC like you suggested.

I already have a few from that one giveaway Sony did a while back(Super Crate Box, Rymdkapsel, etc).

It's amusing to see that Sony's shutting down PSM which has real games whereas Microsoft still keeps Xbox Live Indie Games going, which is mostly comprised of Baby Maker and borderline hentai games.

Actually, Vita Player has a good set of reviews and lengthy descriptions of dozens of PSM games. Life of Pixel and Console Saga are a couple of titles that stand out.

edit: If anyone here does buy my game, PM me and I might be able to give you a free upgrade to the non-PSM version when it launches (probably this fall). No promises because I don't know Sony's policies regarding generating promo codes, but if I can, I will.

This confuses me a bit. Could someone confirm that buying the Marvel pinball pack for PS3 gives you the 4 Zen Pinball 2 tables found in the "Zen Pinball 2: Marvel Pinball Original Pack" for free?

I own these 4 Marvel tables on Steam and the X360, but not on the PS3. The only reason I'd consider buying the PS3 versions for $3 is because the Zen tables support 3D. However, the Marvel pack for $3 does not mention 3D. So I want to make sure I'll get the 4 3D Marvel tables for Zen Pinball 2 PS3 if I spend the $3.

Sadly I'm so out of it that I've never heard of Playstation Mobile before. I did a quick Google search and read on Wikipedia. It talks about mobile phones and then mentions Vita and PSTV. Is this PS Mobile some separate and unrelated site or is Sony's PSN site going to remove all PS Vita games?

Said differently, is anything being removed from PSN or will all the Vita games I got for free or bought on PSN+ still be downloadable on my PSTV after September? I'm assuming/hoping it's the latter and PSN is unaffected...

I worry about (and dread) the day that Sony actually does permanently remove older PS3 games (whether actual PS3 games or PS1/PS2 classics or PSP minis) on PSN saying they are "too old" and not worth their time or server space to keep them. I'd be very bummed if they took away games I bought (many of which I've never played).

They're talking about PlayStation Mobile which are mobile games that have only been accessible on the Vita store. The announcement is not related to your PlayStation Plus subscription.

I think you're saying what I was assuming... that this PS Mobile site is totally separate and unrelated to PSN+ meaning the contents of the PSN site (store.playstation.com) is unaffected. I wasn't worried about my PSN+ subscription being affected. I just want to make sure I don't have to hurry and download all my Vita games (which I got for free on PSN+ or via crossbuy) before September from PSN. I've barely used my PSTV more than a few hours since I bought it several months ago. I have at least 2 dozen Vita games I haven't had time to download off PSN, so I got concerned when the PS Mobile news was mentioning we'd better download all our Vita games by September.

The only games that need to be downloaded by September are ones that were purchased on PlayStation Mobile. Don't worry about your Vita games. They're safe. PlayStation Mobile was an experiment that failed which is why it wasn't sustainable. Few people spent money buying those games which is why Sony is pulling the plug on it. PlayStation Network isn't going away anytime soon.

Lemmings for PSM has IAPs. You only get the 10 tutorial levels for free, then there are separate IAPs for the standard levels ($5) and an extra level pack ($2).

 
I'm sorry if I missed it but is there a site for PS Mobile games? On my PSTV under PS Mobile its missing 90% of the games mentioned here and I cant figure it out. Yes I'm in the US
 
Bought all of the G-Mode and Jaleco Appli Archives games that were in English this morning off PS Mobile before I left for work. Some of them were mobile versions of classic games like Burgertime, Formation Z and Momoko 120%. There was even one made by Nippon Ichi that features Prinny from Disgaea in a platformer. They ranged in price from $2.99 to $5.49 but I had been thinking about buying them for months before the PSM closure announcement.

I also bought several of the freebies, Oh Deer, Gunhouse, Gun Commando and a bunch of 49 cents games. My PSN wallet is down to 38 cents.

Most likely the PSTV PSM store doesn't display many of the games because those games were never updated to work on PSTV. You'd need a Vita to see and purchase them, by browsing the PSM store with the Vita. The lack of a touchscreen on the PSTV means that many PSM games would need to be modified to work with the DS3/DS4, and probably most PSM devs didnt bother.

I can confirm that buying the ZP2 Marvel Original Pack for PS3 unlocks the ZP2 Marvel Original Pack for PS4. Do what Frisky said; buy the PS3 pack, then refresh the store to find the PS4 pack listed as free.

The PS4 pack's page says "3D display with compatible 3D active glasses (sold separately) required for 3D features. Visit www.us.playstation.com/support/3D for details." Hope that helps.

The last statement may possibly be true, but the devs for Oh, Deer! and Gunhouse couldn't get approval for PSTV in time, according to their twitter.

 
fuck , tried getting Lemmings regular levels after getting the Special ones and I think my CC is on hold, it won't let me add anymore funds to my PSN wallet.

Probably wouldn't have this problem if I could do it online instead of individually.

And unfortunately they never got around to puttting PSM content in the webstore, so as mentioned above, you'd need a Vita to see the rest. :(
 
Since it's cheaper, I decided to get the Destiny expansion pack on PS3. I want to get back into Destiny and it's crossbuy on the PS4 so that's a plus.

So I thought PSM ended on the 15th? That's what the PlayStation site says. Is it now when the store updates today? I guess I missed that until I saw everybody talking about it last night. Just curious, if it lasts until tomorrow I might pick up a few cheap games. No biggie.
