Switch Galaxy Ultra - Nothing really stands out or is challenging about the game. You kinda just ride the rails in each level avoiding obstacles and stuff. There's no major penalty for hitting things, or not completing the level in a proper time, or anything.

I like the idea, but the execution was bad. I need to be penalized for hitting obstacles, not just that I lose a few seconds off my meaningless completion time. You're actually incentivized to go slow through the levels. It would have been cool if it made proper objectives. Imagine a racing game where you're only objective is to complete the race, it doesn't matter what place you finish in. That's how Switch Galaxy Ultra is.

Zimm reviewed it I think.
My review: http://gamegravy.com/review/switch-galaxy-ultra/

Also what Tyler said. Except there is a penalty for hitting things in the second half of each track.

Basically format is regular track/worm hole to gather collectables/regular track. After you emerge with your collectables, anytime you hit anything, you lose one of those collectables. And you need those collectables to advance to new tracks. So it can hinder your progress because the collectables can be hard to line up and the 2nd half can go quick. But again you can slow down as much as you want. I ended up replaying lots of tracks to try to better my score just to advance to a new track.

maybe I'll remove it from my cart then. does it at least have some sort of story or reason for you to keep playing?

Aaron Rodgers is playing in a Pro-Am Celebrity golf tournament, and some dude fell asleep in the gallery....

There are lots of levels and ship upgrades. Also see my previous post about needing to replay levels to get enough shit to advance. There's also a boring multiplayer with a couple modes and no actual humans playing.

No, not that I remember. Some weird russian computer chick or something tells most the story. She may or may not be a furry, I don't remember.

And what Zimm said is right about the orbs. I found a surprisingly on-point review from Metacritic user reviews:

The excellent original Playstation Mobile was a fast game where you tried to beat certain times to progress. For some reason they ruined the game by making progression by gathering orbs from this inexplicable horrible free 3D sections that occur mid way through a level. You then lose and orb if you hit an obstacle. Until the mid section of the game where you gain orbs it really doesn't matter what you are doing as long as you don't die.
Underlined for emphasis by me. There's just no point to the game. It's unfortunate. Fatality hooked me up with the game too, I just couldn't get into it. He's still awesome tho.

So I'm thinking

definitely

Master Reboot $3.75

Soldner X-2 Complete - $3.25

likely

Resonance of Fate - $5

Gradius Collection - $5

Maybe

Teslagrad -$6, it feels like prime PS+ material given its already 60% off in 3 months

I just now have a proper Vita on the way from the Prime Day sale so I'm not accustomed to having the choice of picking non PSTV games. Looks like the only vita games that aren't also PS+ games are the Hyper~ games and those just look weird.

Guess who has a "desirable" total cholesterol level and "near optimal" LDL (bad) cholesterol level?

Turns out even eating moderately more healthy (basically just added a lot more fruit to my diet, stopped going out for dinner, and cut back on alcohol) can have some really good benefits.

Yeah bro. I tell people all the time I eat and drink what I want and I will be fine. Just a little exercise and dont eat like a pig every day and you wont have a problem. We will all likely die of cancer or heart problems anyway.

At mediation the mediators started talking about drinking coffee and I said I drink Mt Dew since I dont really care for coffee and immediately one of the women was trying to tell me how she read that Mt Dew is the worst thing to drink bla bla bla. I immediately stopped her and said yeah I know, its great isnt it? She knew then to shut up cause I dont care.

The nerd that I am, I've always meant to get a t-shirt printed with that 2nd image on it.

Nice I just took a health screening at my employment. Good results but 12 hours of fasting was brutal. Going to celebrate with some beer, soda, candy, and bbq.

After the conversation today, I assume you know where that second pic comes from, right?
Yeah that's what prompted me to remember it.

I actually saw the Super Meat Boy soundtrack cover first back when it was announced years ago and thought it was really unique. Knew it had to be a reference to something, so I googled something like "people shaking hands one person on fire" and saw it was straight from Wish You Were Here. Didn't realize how awesome the album actually was til later, I've only recently gotten into Pink Floyd.

My PSN cart:

Another World

Soldner-X 2 Bundle

Master Reboot

StarDrone Extreme (cross-buy for PS3 & Vita and separate trophy lists with auto-popping trophies via cloud-save)

Not bad for ~$10.

The 20 or so minutes I played of Master Reboot were awful. Definitely just a weird and trippy adventure game. Supposedly there are puzzles later in the game but what I played was definitely a walking simulator.

I wish Jamestown+ didn't have a trophy that required four controllers. I'll still play it when it gets to Plus (and it'll definitely hit Plus), but at that point I'll probably do something stupid like buy 3 used DS4s from Gamestop, use them to get the trophy, then return them within a week.

Too late, I bought it. Oh well, I hope it's at least better than Infinity Runner.

StarDrone Extreme is good for a $1. I bought the PS3 version years ago and got 100% on it. I never used Move controls but the DS3 worked perfectly. When the Vita version came out I was happy to see it free. I didn't like the way the Vita versions controls so I just popped the trophies.

Crazy Diamond is my nickname for my FWB in my phone and on the IM system we use. Sadly, when she was looking at my phone and noticed it, she didn't get the reference at all.

Hopefully I never talk to you on that IM service or your phone, cause you may mix us up and start sharing some personal details with me that I don't want to hear

99% of it would be just a dull as the conversations in here, or worse. Looks like our last 2 conversations were about work procedures at her job and Cafe Rio for lunch.

yeah that might hurt your 68% completion rate

Man fuck unskippable credits. Gimme my damn trophies for beating the game. I gotta go! All I have left in GoW 3 is the easy challenge mode (lol). Managed to get everything else in one playthrough

So Gator after having so much fun with Payday 2 PS4, I finally decided to go back to the PS3 version to finish the play (level 100).  I guess all the competent players left for the PS4.  Having trouble finding a decent crew of randoms. Somehow a level 45 player did not know how to throw a bag into a van until I showed him how to do it.  He just kept throwing it on top of the van multiple times.

I would just play rats overkill pro over and over again but I don't have enough overseas funding to do it solo.

Also I noticed that they definitely increase the exp and money you earn in the next gen version.

I'd love to see the numbers on these movies that Sony is always putting on sale. It seems so ludicrous to me that they charge so much and consider it a sale. But they do it all the time, so someone out there must be buying them, right?

As usual, they can't post a sale on the blog without screwing something up.  They listed Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon but it's not updated on the website with the sale price of 4.95.  Or Beyond Good and Evil HD at 3.30.  So I guess that means Yorbie was put on the sale page in error as it's not on the blog.
