Are the chapters in Wolfenstein really really long or is it just me?

Started playing on Uber, and even though I spent a decent amount of time trying to unlock perks/trophies, I still seem a long way off from finishing even the first chapter, even though I've put a couple hours into it.
No idea, I just used the glitch and even then I wasn't good enough to beat it quickly, and that was just the last level.

What does VP have to do with anything? That was done by tri-Ace while Odin Sphere was done by Vanillaware.

...Not that I wouldn't welcome a VP HD on Vita.
They're both side-scrolling brawlers set in the same mythos. They're not developed by the same company or anything, obviously, but they have enough in common that thinking of OS usually reminds me of VP as well. I've never played either so a superficial commonality is enough to associate the two of them.

Huh. I was just looking at the tri-Ace wiki page. I had no idea they did FFXIII-2 and XIII-3.

Except VP isn't a side-scrolling brawler like OS--you walk around on a 2D "map" and get into standard-JRPG (turn-based) battles.

I'm aware of the glitch, just figured I'd try legit since peeps have said it's not really that hard on Uber and that playing only the last level on Uber can be very jarring and makes it way harder to beat than if you just Uber'd the entire game.
It wasn't too bad, the build up just required a lot of staying in cover and not moving till you know everyone is dead, my problem would be one straggler that was glitched or not moving for some reason and when I went to progress forward they would kill me forcing me to restart the section. The boss battle itself took two tries as their is a certain way to do that part quickly. But overall better than the whole game.

I did not expect the score to be an 8 after reading the text. He spent more time on how annoying the gating was in the game than anything else.
I ignored those complaints as I don't mind replaying levels if the levels themselves are good/fun, which looks to be the case for Tembo.

Nope. The last level on Uber is much better than playing the entire game on Uber.

Uber agrees.

Eh. It's a weird style. Again I haven't played it but the gameplay videos make it come across like a turn-based team brawler more than it does a menu-driven, standard-style jRPG. It has a combo counter and timed button presses during the attack, which fits. That combined with the side-scrolling, platform-based exploration element just makes me feel like the brawler label fits better than anything else. It may not be entirely accurate, but I don't think the game is as simple to define as most.

Huh. Other than Tin Man, BSG, and Eureka I don't think I've ever watched anything from Syfy. Maybe I should fix that. :whistle2:k
I used to watch it a lot, then they kinda got away from scripted for awhile and went reality show crazy, but in the last few years they've tried to right the ship.

Right now I'm watching Killjoys, Dark Matter, Z Nation, Dominion, Continuum (whenever the fuck it comes back on), though the best by far is 12 Monkeys.

That was fast--Destructoid has their Tembo review up: http://www.destructoid.com/review-tembo-the-badass-elephant-296063.phtml

Looks like I'm buying it tomorrow.
"Tembo the Badass Elephant kind of came out of nowhere for me"

Clearly this guy needs to join the PSNOT. Nice that the only real complaint he had was the gating. And his example at the end was replaying a level 5 times. That doesnt seem like a lot of replaying so even I could probably manage that. Especially since its a badass elephant.

I am tempted to buy it but just cant stomach more than $10 for a digital game.

I'm not saying that it's god's gift to gaming, but honestly it's kinda worth it to hang in there. if you stick with it you really do adjust to the controls and it's pretty unique.
Yeah I want too, I mean I am probably half way or just over so I want to keep going. But man the controls, especially during boss fights.

I watched the first few episodes of Continuum. It seemed interesting but didn't quite grab me. I'm planning to get back to it but other things keep taking precedence. They have announced that s4 will be the last and will only have six episodes and stairs airing Sept 4th in Canada. Not sure when Syfy will start airing it here, though.

Since I have no ability to avoid sales, I got Borderlands and Dying Light at best buy today, so if anyone wants to get some co-op going on, don't forget about me!
I think laundrymatt helped with some trophies on PS3. I thought you helped me too? If so you should be able to bring over your characters. Kilik and I are probably going to need some help beating terramorphous when he gets up to level 50. I think I did beat him once solo but it was a PIA. About the last hard trophy left for me to get the plat I think. Just need to finish the side missions and main story.

I have a level 25 character on TPS on PS3 but don't have the game anymore. Might do a GS rental and have a friend mine help level him up to 50 and bring him over to PS4. Makes playing through the story MUCH easier. Initially I thought about just borrowing my friends copy but then I couldn't let him help me boost my guy up.

that shit was unbelievable.

Basically the dude in red made an epic come back in a round that tied it 1 to 1 and started celebrating too early, leaving his stick behind and his character idle. the dude in black obviously punished that shit.

I don't know, personally I find that pretty scummy.

I agree. I kind of wish people had booed the guy in black after "winning" like that. He didn't even shake the other guy's hand at the end.
He did eventually in the full video Mild posted. Losing dude was too busy burying his head in embarrassment immediately after.

I ordered a 1 TB USB 3.0 drive. I'm ready for Sony to release USB drive support for the PS4. Failing that, supposedly this one has a removable drive in it, so I could install it, but I don't have a spare 500 GB drive to do a backup with and redownloading everything sounds like it would suck.

I actually ordered the drive so I could backup our MacBook Air becasue it has drive issues that need the SSD to be formatted and restored. So they have a few days to get that USB 3.0 drive support out. You can do it, Sony!

I loved Odin Sphere, but damn making and eating all that food was boring. lol. I know it was a huge part of the game and only way to get more hp, but I remember it just took forever. And then the whole A-Z of potions. I had a list of what letters did what, but still. and those ignorant levels where you needed to drink heat or cold so you wouldn't take constant damage. and that convoluted yet awesome story that is so out of order. Great game ;)

It doesn't look like he did--at the 9:14-9:15 mark, where you'd think he did, he just unplugged his controller and went back to his seat while the other guy was smiling embarrassingly at him.

Oh yeah you're right. Thought there was a least a thumb tap or something in that sequence. They should totally revoke his title for poor sportsmanship. What a bad example he's setting for the kids of today.

Ended up with everything on my earlier list but Teslagrad, it just gets my PS+ spider sense way too tingly. Below $4 is pretty much my "don't give a shit if it goes to plus" price barrier so $6 is too high.

Gradius Collection

Resonance of Fate

Master Reboot

Soldner X-2 Complete

Ugh, I'm being so indecisive about what to play next.  I'm down for co-op in a bunch of stuff, but I also need to start a single player game to play when people aren't around.

So here's what you all should do: first pick a letter, then pick a number between 1 and 500, then just tell me the name of the game you think I should play.

fuck off.

Just keep playing Jamestown when you cant play co op. And other games like Geometry Wars if you havent already finished it?

He should have shook the guys hand, but I have no issue with someone winning because the other guy was prematurely celebrating.  Spiking the ball on the 5 yard line is always a bad idea.

Auto-spellchecker fail. "The level design is fairly open-ended, tasking you with finding hidden civilizations scattered across the map, and killing as many enemies as possible"

That is strange that on one hand they would encourage speeding through the level without stopping, but with the other require killing a set number of enemies before being able to progress.

I ended up grabbing Another World & StarDrone Extreme from the flash sale yesterday, then just picked up Soldner X2 Complete now.

Was tempted by Bulletstorm and Revengence, but I feel I can get the disc for cheap enough and not have to worry about cleaning the fridge to play them.  I'm sure I'll regret it later.

there's not a whole lot of cordial sportsmanship like that in the fgc - if there's a non-banned exploit or if someone does something stupid anyone will take advantage of it. especially since there's a non-trivial amount of money at stake at evo. think of it like an old west duel - turn and shoot on three. if the other guy is busy making eyes at a lass that's standing outside the saloon when three hits you better believe the gunslinger on the other side will shoot him in the back. it's lame, but what are you gonna do.

I am with Gator. You hop around celebrating when it isn't over you deserve to lose. Just like the morons in MLB who go into a home run trot on a ball that ends up not being out of the park and are lucky to make it to first.

Plus as much as the guy in red celebrated I would have wanted to punch him in the face. "Win" with some decorum.

Glad Gator made the comment though as I missed what happened. I just thought it was two nerds going crazy over winning/losing the finals of some tournament I couldn't care less about.

It isnt strange, its strategy. Figuring out how fast is too fast and how slow is to slow in order to kill enough enemies could be fun with the right badassery.

No I completely agree with this. Non-yellow font failed my original shame post.

Spieth still has a lot of holes to go, but he might have just screwed the pooch.  I thought Johnson was in trouble but he made a tremendous up and down from a pot bunker.  Odd to see Sergio charging on the final day, that is usually when he falls apart.
