No idea, I just used the glitch and even then I wasn't good enough to beat it quickly, and that was just the last level. Are the chapters in Wolfenstein really really long or is it just me?
Started playing on Uber, and even though I spent a decent amount of time trying to unlock perks/trophies, I still seem a long way off from finishing even the first chapter, even though I've put a couple hours into it.
I'm aware of the glitch, just figured I'd try legit since peeps have said it's not really that hard on Uber and that playing only the last level on Uber can be very jarring and makes it way harder to beat than if you just Uber'd the entire game.I'm surprised you're playing Uber instead of using the glitch.

They're both side-scrolling brawlers set in the same mythos. They're not developed by the same company or anything, obviously, but they have enough in common that thinking of OS usually reminds me of VP as well. I've never played either so a superficial commonality is enough to associate the two of them. What does VP have to do with anything? That was done by tri-Ace while Odin Sphere was done by Vanillaware.
...Not that I wouldn't welcome a VP HD on Vita.![]()
Except VP isn't a side-scrolling brawler like OS--you walk around on a 2D "map" and get into standard-JRPG (turn-based) battles. They're both side-scrolling brawlers set in the same mythos. Huh. I was just looking at the tri-Ace wiki page. I had no idea they did FFXIII-2 and XIII-3.
It wasn't too bad, the build up just required a lot of staying in cover and not moving till you know everyone is dead, my problem would be one straggler that was glitched or not moving for some reason and when I went to progress forward they would kill me forcing me to restart the section. The boss battle itself took two tries as their is a certain way to do that part quickly. But overall better than the whole game.I'm aware of the glitch, just figured I'd try legit since peeps have said it's not really that hard on Uber and that playing only the last level on Uber can be very jarring and makes it way harder to beat than if you just Uber'd the entire game.
I really like the art style and concept, but the forced repetition combined with such a short game length makes me leery. I don't want to be forced to play the same maps over and over again and still have the game take me only 3-4 hours to beat. Not enough variation to make it worth $15, IMO.That was fast--Destructoid has their Tembo review up: http://www.destructoid.com/review-tembo-the-badass-elephant-296063.phtml

I did not expect the score to be an 8 after reading the text. He spent more time on how annoying the gating was in the game than anything else. That was fast--Destructoid has their Tembo review up: http://www.destructoid.com/review-tembo-the-badass-elephant-296063.phtml

Once again full of crap. They're both side-scrolling brawlers set in the same mythos.
I ignored those complaints as I don't mind replaying levels if the levels themselves are good/fun, which looks to be the case for Tembo.I did not expect the score to be an 8 after reading the text. He spent more time on how annoying the gating was in the game than anything else.
Nope. The last level on Uber is much better than playing the entire game on Uber.I'm aware of the glitch, just figured I'd try legit since peeps have said it's not really that hard on Uber and that playing only the last level on Uber can be very jarring and makes it way harder to beat than if you just Uber'd the entire game.
Eh. It's a weird style. Again I haven't played it but the gameplay videos make it come across like a turn-based team brawler more than it does a menu-driven, standard-style jRPG. It has a combo counter and timed button presses during the attack, which fits. That combined with the side-scrolling, platform-based exploration element just makes me feel like the brawler label fits better than anything else. It may not be entirely accurate, but I don't think the game is as simple to define as most.Except VP isn't a side-scrolling brawler like OS--you walk around on a 2D "map" and get into standard-JRPG (turn-based) battles.
I used to watch it a lot, then they kinda got away from scripted for awhile and went reality show crazy, but in the last few years they've tried to right the ship.Huh. Other than Tin Man, BSG, and Eureka I don't think I've ever watched anything from Syfy. Maybe I should fix that.k

If you mean the one from this past week, yesterday was the last day to use it. If you mean the new one that starts next week, carry on.I have one code for 50% trade in left any regulars in here want one?
Yeah I want too, I mean I am probably half way or just over so I want to keep going. But man the controls, especially during boss fights.I'm not saying that it's god's gift to gaming, but honestly it's kinda worth it to hang in there. if you stick with it you really do adjust to the controls and it's pretty unique.
I watched the first few episodes of Continuum. It seemed interesting but didn't quite grab me. I'm planning to get back to it but other things keep taking precedence. They have announced that s4 will be the last and will only have six episodes and stairs airing Sept 4th in Canada. Not sure when Syfy will start airing it here, though.I used to watch it a lot, then they kinda got away from scripted for awhile and went reality show crazy, but in the last few years they've tried to right the ship.
Right now I'm watching Killjoys, Dark Matter, Z Nation, Dominion, Continuum (whenever theit comes back on), though the best by far is 12 Monkeys.
Yupp got it yesterday, its for the next period, but I traded everything of value, so it's useless to me.If you mean the one from this past week, yesterday was the last day to use it. If you mean the new one that starts next week, carry on.![]()

I think laundrymatt helped with some trophies on PS3. I thought you helped me too? If so you should be able to bring over your characters. Kilik and I are probably going to need some help beating terramorphous when he gets up to level 50. I think I did beat him once solo but it was a PIA. About the last hard trophy left for me to get the plat I think. Just need to finish the side missions and main story.Since I have no ability to avoid sales, I got Borderlands and Dying Light at best buy today, so if anyone wants to get some co-op going on, don't forget about me!
I do have 3 coupons for last week's TIV bonus if anybody wants those. I don't think I'll be using them.Yupp got it yesterday, its for the next period, but I traded everything of value, so it's useless to me.
You mean the ones that are now expired, like I said?I do have 3 coupons for last week's TIV bonus if anybody wants those. I don't think I'll be using them.
Yep. Those are the ones. You mean the ones that are now expired, like I said?
I don't know, personally I find that pretty scummy.that shit was unbelievable.
Basically the dude in red made an epic come back in a round that tied it 1 to 1 and started celebrating too early, leaving his stick behind and his character idle. the dude in black obviously punished that shit.

I agree. I kind of wish people had booed the guy in black after "winning" like that. He didn't even shake the other guy's hand at the end.I don't know, personally I find that pretty scummy.
He did eventually in the full video Mild posted. Losing dude was too busy burying his head in embarrassment immediately after.I agree. I kind of wish people had booed the guy in black after "winning" like that. He didn't even shake the other guy's hand at the end.
Would you want to touch any of those people? I doubt many of them showered last week.I agree. I kind of wish people had booed the guy in black after "winning" like that. He didn't even shake the other guy's hand at the end.
I'd imagine that's what a lot of these competitions are like. I'm terrible at fighting games, granted, but any game where you can get slaughtered and never have a chance to respond doesn't seem fun to me.I don't know, personally I find that pretty scummy.
Especially since I would think the newer PC version would be a solid base to port from to other consoles.I'm fairly surprised Valkyrie Profile has never gotten the HD treatment. It seems like an obvious candidate for it.
It doesn't look like he did--at the 9:14-9:15 mark, where you'd think he did, he just unplugged his controller and went back to his seat while the other guy was smiling embarrassingly at him.He did eventually in the full video Mild posted. I can't find anything about a PC version. Do you have a link?Especially since I would think the newer PC version would be a solid base to port from to other consoles.
Oh yeah you're right. Thought there was a least a thumb tap or something in that sequence. They should totally revoke his title for poor sportsmanship. What a bad example he's setting for the kids of today. It doesn't look like he did--at the 9:14-9:15 mark, where you'd think he did, he just unplugged his controller and went back to his seat while the other guy was smiling embarrassingly at him.
Ugh, I'm being so indecisive about what to play next. I'm down for co-op in a bunch of stuff, but I also need to start a single player game to play when people aren't around.
So here's what you all should do: first pick a letter, then pick a number between 1 and 500, then just tell me the name of the game you think I should play.
Ah, got V. profile and chronicles confused, NM.I can't find anything about a PC version. Do you have a link?
Yeah, he's all "get theIt doesn't look like he did--at the 9:14-9:15 mark, where you'd think he did, he just unplugged his controller and went back to his seat while the other guy was smiling embarrassingly at him.
You should play Bioshock. You'll never expect the twist near the end.So here's what you all should do: first pick a letter, then pick a number between 1 and 500, then just tell me the name of the game you think I should play.

there's not a whole lot of cordial sportsmanship like that in the fgc - if there's a non-banned exploit or if someone does something stupid anyone will take advantage of it. especially since there's a non-trivial amount of money at stake at evo. think of it like an old west duel - turn and shoot on three. if the other guy is busy making eyes at a lass that's standing outside the saloon when three hits you better believe the gunslinger on the other side will shoot him in the back. it's lame, but what are you gonna do.Oh yeah you're right. I am with Gator. You hop around celebrating when it isn't over you deserve to lose. Just like the morons in MLB who go into a home run trot on a ball that ends up not being out of the park and are lucky to make it to first.I agree. I kind of wish people had booed the guy in black after "winning" like that. He didn't even shake the other guy's hand at the end.
It isnt strange, its strategy. Figuring out how fast is too fast and how slow is to slow in order to kill enough enemies could be fun with the right badassery.Auto-spellchecker fail. "The level design is fairly open-ended, tasking you with finding hidden civilizations scattered across the map, and killing as many enemies as possible"
That is strange that on one hand they would encourage speeding through the level without stopping, but with the other require killing a set number of enemies before being able to progress.
Even with the added context, it was exactly that.I just thought it was two nerds going crazy over winning/losing the finals of some tournament I couldn't care less about.
No I completely agree with this. Non-yellow font failed my original shame post.there's not a whole lot of cordial sportsmanship like that in the fgc - if there's a non-banned exploit or if someone does something stupid anyone will take advantage of it. especially since there's a non-trivial amount of money at stake at evo. think of it like an old west duel - turn and shoot on three. if the other guy is busy making eyes at a lass that's standing outside the saloon when three hits you better believe the gunslinger on the other side will shoot him in the back. it's lame, but what are you gonna do.
