:ps4: Foul Play - $2.00 to $100.00 [customspoiler='Fine Print'] :ps4: Foul Play is a part of the PlayStation Heroes program, which means that you can pay your choice among a variety of price points for an item that is usually a theme for entries into a contest to win some prize with most of the money going to a charity. There are no details at the moment for what the prize for buying Foul Play offers, so I'll post that whenever it's announced.

Edit: From the PlayStation Heroes app on PS4, the Foul Play promotion is for a trip to PlayStation Experience in December. Once you purchase the game, you're supposed to go here to register for the actual contest, though you should wait until the page is updated for the PlayStation Experience promotion instead of whatever it's on at the moment.[/customspoiler]

I was just wondering when they were going to announce the games for August.

Lara Croft is nice but the others are unimpressive. I've been looking for an excuse to buy a PS4 or XB1 but when I look at the history of PS+ games on PS4, nothing stands out to me. On the other hand, Titanfall and Dragon Age: Inquisition in EA Access are very appealing. I can't believe Limbo takes up another slot - does anyone still want to play that who hasn't already?

For those that played the first Stealth Inc, the sequel is basically that but set in a Metroid-style shell as far as getting to the next puzzle level and finding secrets.

The only down side to the KQ series is the Sierra Logic..

How do you defeat the Yeti? With a pie of course!
Remember that rat on the first screen? Well if you didn't chase off the cat, now in a later scene you can't beat the game!

(KQ5 refs)
Well this isn't classic Kings Quest but rather a completely new game. It's said to fit in the same universe but with the stories told in a way that things could change the same way stories passed down generation to generation change. It's now an adventure with free movement and some exploration and supposedly multiple ways to solve the puzzles with no one way being the right way. I actually think this sounds like it could be more up my alley than the original games because I really don't care for adventure games with illogical puzzle solutions (like the Touch Detective series on DS) and I love exploration (which it's said the game starts linear but does open up to some exploration).

Still I'm going to wait for some feedback before seriously considering this. I typically don't invest much into episodic games anyway unless it's on sale for cheap. Especially when the episodes will take until sometime next year to all come out. They really should have called the bundle of all episodes plus the bonus epilogue as the Complete Season rather than Complete Collection. I think they want to trick a lot of people into thinking this is the classic games being bundled.

....

Anyway, I'm glad this is just week 1 of the sales and we have more to come. Overall, this week is pretty solid, I just already own most of what is being offered that I'm interested in.

....

I noticed PS+ Free Games list is out...

For those keeping track at home... Sound Shapes was one of the Play 2012 releases. So now that's 50% of the 2012 games that went free on + to go along with 100% of 2013 & 2014 Play promoted games.

As for the other games, I own Limbo (PSN, iOS & Steam). It's a fantastic puzzle platformer game. Anyone that avoided it for whatever reason, definitely give it a play. GoW Ascension is a welcome addition to my library. I grabbed the ultimate bundle dlc thing when it went free so I have all of that already... this was the only GoW game I had left to get. My kids loved Tomb Raider on PS3, so getting Temple of Osiris on PS4 will be a nice treat. Really this is a good month for me as all I owned in the list was Limbo.

First time I really didn't dig the ps+ lineup... mostly because I own almost everything. Still, it's pretty solid with 4 games for ps4 owners, 4 games for ps3 owners, and 3 games for vita owners (and 1 game for me, since i own most).

Still... I really enjoyed the first Laura Croft game so I suppose it's redeemed by having the sequel.

I felt like I got a good deal when I got it for $16 but now that the PS4 retail price is almost the same, and I haven't even played it yet, feels not as good.
It was still a good deal then. It's just now, now. All of us with huge backlogs just have to get over that, we enjoy getting the good deals but get too many to play... no point in feeling burnt later when there's an inevitably better deal, enjoy that you got a good deal back then.

I mean, heck, I really wanted Castlestorm and suffered through launch, several 'bad' sales, and then finally got it when the price was decent. And then it got cheaper, and now it's free. So be it.

Looks like I'm finally going to play Sound Shapes.

I'm also really looking forward to giving Limbo another chance since I only played the PS3 version for about 30 minutes.

I have Limbo and Stealth on multiple consoles. That's how much I enjoy them.

I don't have that Tomb Raider game so it's a good month for that alone.

It's been pointed out that for those who own the game, it's showing up as unpurchased..

It's.. weird.
Yeah I just read the posts. This is annoying I really wanted to play it but I guess I'll have to live chat with one of their agents before I do. Yay.

Have the other PS4 and Vita games (well, Castlestorm I have on Xbox One). But been wanting both Lara Croft and Stealth 2 and nearly bit on both on sales so happy to see those there!

I bought the collectors edition of Tomb Raider (that didn't include a game) from Amazon for $5. Now I can actually play the game. I just love it when stuff works out.

In fact, it's still available, http://www.amazon.com/Lara-Croft-Temple-Osiris-Included-Pc/dp/B00O1Z3FMK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1438191735&sr=8-2&keywords=tomb+raider+temple+of+osiris

Welp glad I got that physical code from BBY for Temple of Osiris and still haven't opened it. And that I got Ascension from that glitch. Really surprised Sound Shapes hasn't been PS+ yet. I guess Limbo's nice, though don't they keep giving out Limbo on each platform since it's not cross buy? Just love that Castlestorm is neither the complete edition nor the PS4 one.

Happy for Stealth Inc 2 at least.

I had to think about this but I did it

[attachment=16088:Screenshot 2015-07-29 at 2.29.42 PM.png]

I was going to pay the $20 for Hollow Fragment but then thought about lost song. Lets say I get it at BB if they add it for $52 after tax and then wait for Hollow Fragment to hit $10 sale. Even at that, it isn't a better deal then the PSN deal imo.

I know with physical I can get rid of it and what not and have the case. I want to always have those games so this was a no brainer after I gave it some thought.

See, you ended up getting Limbo for free after all, after getting spurned by MS :D/

Only thing happy about too. I opened and redeemed my LC: ToO though :wall:

big shock there more indie games for the vita... You might as well say   sony has given up on the vita and  we will now only see indie games as the PSN+ games    pure crap all year on the vita  nothing but indie games   besides maybe  1 or 2

i see they were too good to give the complete collection for the  castlestorm game

I thought you sold your vita and all your psn credit awhile ago?

I got God Of War back when the glitch that gave it for free happened and I never got around to installing it. Looks like the only game this month that interests me is Stealth Inc. 2 on the Vita.

Wasn't that glitch for God of War Collection? I don't think Ascension has been free.
First there was a glitch where you got the Vita collection via cross buy if you did the PS+ full game trials for PS3 and then it also gave you the full PS3 versions. More recently there was a flitch where the ultimate version of Ascension was entirely free.

Destiny: The Taken King Collector's Edition - $79.99 - 20% Off Unbundled Items - Out 9/15

Have a friend trying to get this, but he did not see it for -20%.  Still showed $79.99 when adding it to cart.

$79.99 is the 20% off price. It's $60 for Destiny + Expansion Pass and $40 for Taken King, so the bundle gets you all of that for $20 cheaper.

Anyone bought or planning to buy the PS4 version of Abyss Odyssey (Extended Dream Edition)?  The launch discount of 40% to 8.99 for PS+ members seems like a good deal, I passed on the PS3 version but the PS4 version looks much better, and supposedly runs better as well.

I'll wait for $5 like I've been waiting for the PS3 version.

I'm so glad I love my vita and all the games I have for it. Must be terrible to be in such a state that you need to post about your misery week in and week out.

Anyone have an opinion on Tokyo Twilight Ghost hunters? The trailer looks neat but I can't figure out what kind of game it even is really..

It's easy to get 4 bajillion downloads when you give it away for free.
There are a lot of people that don't grab the games and a lot were shitting on it being a worthless indie game before launch, so it is still impressive to surpass 4 million. The only other PS+/GWG game I've seen numbers on was #IDARB reaching 1.8 million after two months on GWG.

I personally own most of the games in this month's PS+ lineup, but I'm glad people will get a chance to check out Sound Shapes and GoW Ascension!

Sound Shapes is one of my favorites.  Great looks, great sound, simplistic but fun platforming that works nicely with the arranged soundtrack.

I thought GoW was more entertaining than a number of the reviews would suggest. Sure there was a lot of fatigue with the franchise by the time it was released, but if you like the GoW flavor of combat, there is plenty of fun to be had.  The multiplayer was a weird addition, but it worked IMO.

True but I doubt the other PS+ games had that much downloads individually
There's really no urgency to playing most of the PS+ games because they are often types of games that can be played anytime. Rocket League is on a timer though for fun as it requires a community of gamers and at launch or near launch is the best and probably only time to really get into it and have the most fun possible before people became too skilled. SO it's initially burning hot but will go very cold over time like most first person shooters that are mostly bought for the online side of them. In this case though, the offline side is fairly rubbish so even more urgency to play it as soon as possible.

Anyone have an opinion on Tokyo Twilight Ghost hunters? The trailer looks neat but I can't figure out what kind of game it even is really..
I haven't bought it yet but it's been on my radar since it launched. Gameplay is mainly a top down strategy board.. like a board game, where you set traps and decided where to move your team of characters. The trick was that enemies moved first so you had to predict where the ghost might go and plan your moves accordingly. Guess wrong and you could get attacked which would cancel an attack you might have set. It seems like a fairly complex strategy game and one I'm interested in, but I'm waiting for it to go much cheaper. Outside of the levels (which are cases you take on and finish), the game is mainly a visual novel. But the actual bulk of gameplay are the missions which play like a very simple looking strategy game on a grid.

The main negative I've read is that the text is tiny on the vita version. So keep that in mind it's better on the PSTV (which I've read it is compatible) & PS3.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2015/07/30/rocket-league-supersonic-fury-dlc-pack-coming-this-august/

The Supersonic Fury pack for Rocket League is coming soon for $3.99 with two new cars and a bunch of customizable stuff along with new trophies. Upcoming updates are adding a new arena, spectator mode, and some tweaks.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2015/07/30/the-talos-principle-deluxe-edition-hits-ps4-october-13th/

The Talos Principle: Deluxe Edition is out for PS4 on 10/13 and includes a new expansion with the base game. It's also getting a physical release.

I think I'm going to bite on it at this price, since the PS3 or X360 versions haven't hit that cheaper than 50% off price yet, and it does look better than the PS3 version. The demo is on my PS4, I just need to give it a try and see if $9 works as a buy price.

Judging by the trailer, it seems like ubisoft might be adding some new stuff to the zombi U port. I'm pretty sure in the original game you could only use a regular cricket bat as a melee weapon but the trailer has a bat with nails in one scene. I hope local multiplayer returns in some form.
