CAGiversary!
They definitely priced themselves about $5 out of the acceptable zone for N++. Early on in the thread he was saying that a bunch of other indies price at $20, but I don't think they factored the type and style of game they were making into that at all. Absolutely ridiculous that they were thinking about charging $30 until someone (much smarter) talked them out of it. Even for the play 2015 promo, it was hard to look at journey dropping for $15, Galak-Z and Everyones Gone to the Rapture dropping for $20, and believing that N++ should be on the $20 tier. Its almost like they didn't even pretend to have someone do some basic market research and then determine what all they could include to break even at least on a $15 price point.
I'm still vaguely interested in the game, and when it drops down to ~10 I'll probably bite, but man does it seem like these guys were ill prepared for all this. Hope it works out for them in the way of sales or something in the long term, but it doesn't seem like lack of press was the only thing that screwed them over.
