Had to quit reading our boy Raigan after that last quote I posted but I just read some more, this is another gem right below that quote from earlier:
"It's a fact that big companies compete on marketing spends because that is an easier, more efficient, way to generate profits than competing on quality. That makes sense for corporations, which are inhuman and don't have any human value -- they exist solely to generate profit. Those entities don't care at all about game design, games as a medium, or anything else that we, as humans, value."
Wow. They most certainly do care about game design etc. A shitty game will not make a company nearly as much money as a good game will. Corporations are inhuman? So corporations only employ robots then? What THE

. A corporation is made up of humans you idiot. He is partially right about existing for profit, they exist to make a profit to generate ROI (return on investment) for shareholders etc. and to generate that profit, a company such as EA or Ubisoft use resources (ie capital, either money or human capital) to create a product (video games) to make money. They use capital to also market those games to help make more of the monies. If they dont allocate their resources correctly they produce a bad product then they dont make the monies. His view that the only reason games make any money is marketing is complete bullshit. Marketing plays a role, but he is delusional to think that is the reason why games are successful. Sure good marketing alone can get you people to buy your game at launch, but sales will nosedive if its a shitty game.
This guy obviously didnt allocate his resources correctly, they obviously spent too much capital on the game and not enough capital on marketing, creating a demo, or actually figuring out the correct price of the game to launch at.
