This thread will attempt to provide a place to discuss past/present/future PC gaming deals. While mainly focusing on Steam games, any standout sales may also be presented. I will not be updating every Daily/Weekly/etc. sale. The tools to help individuals become a smarter shopper will be provided below.

I loved Tetris Ultimate on 3DS and Vita. They were both solid and both developed by different teams so Ubi is certainly hewing close to Tetris standards with all the fancy grand master modes and magics. It's an extremely well done implementation on those versions. I will let you know when I get the PC version if it is equally as good.


To be fair, Bruticus coming back after being banned is like you forcing your way back into a house you have been disinvited from. But, to be unfair, I don't owe the mods jack shit in consideration for their stupid little problems.

it depends. Sometimes on bigger stuff they cant be matched. We got one of their dell desktop refurbs a month or so ago which was 200$ cheaper than a new one in store and 100$ cheaper than the refurbs of the same model that microcenter sells. Woots price still hasnt been matched so far

I also got my audio receiver from them and I think its still the best price on it even after a year

usually though I just buy small one-off crap from them like a refurb fitbit, or bluetooth transmitter for a couple bucks, especially now because they are giving long time users free shipping for a few weeks. Half the time though when you check the comments anymore someone will have posted a link to amazon for the same thing for cheaper, which is awfully sad that the parent company beat them out, you would think they would research that first.

A year old article about console versions. Its not out of the realm of possibilities thats it been fixed at this point.

There are 4 negative Steam reviews already, but they all seem to be concerning specific issues that person had. Nothing yet about things that plagued the console versions.

Yea, you're right. Because Tetris has only been around for ... I dunno... 30 years? And only be multiplayer since... what Gameboy? Hell Tetris DS is regarded as some of the best multiplayer ever for that game... and it was out... 10 years ago.

God, I forgot about that. Fox claims he was eating a piece of chocolate during Contagion but I swear he was going to town on a bucket of chicken or something. You all wouldn't want to miss out on that.

When Batman: AK price-drops, that'll certainly use around 3-4GB of VRAM.

Shadow of Mordor has a high setting that recommends 6GB of VRAM - ain't played the game; ain't bought it yet.

 
I had no complaints about the PS4 implementation of Tetris Ultimate also. I probably got it after the patch.

The reviews are scaring me off TU PC though...

One of the negative reviews for Tetris Ultimate turned me on to Nullpomino which is free and pretty much all the tetris you need.

So I don't think I'll get TU.

Had fun playing with the Bros in Grid Autosport even though less than a minute into the first race my car looked like this:

We played GRID Autosport as promised.  It went as predicted.  Spoder won a lot.  I crashed into people.  People got annoyed at me crashing into them.  Fun game.  Not really sure how it compares to 1 or 2 though we played at least one of those before.  Definitely not as good as The Crew though.  We don't have any games scheduled for next week.  Any suggestions?

Dunno how many people have it, but Next Car Game could be fun.

Nah, not yet. Not enough have it. Something with mayhem and/or explosions.

I saw a bunch of GameGuru crap on tremor at 0 coins but attempting to purchase gives a "This is likely a pricing error" error.

I like how tremor can implement code on their site that can detect pricing errors, but no major online retailer can.

 
For some reason Steam won't let me do a refund on the 3D Realms Anthology. I bought it as a gift, still stored in my inventory, on the last day of the sale (~10 days ago). When I try to request a refund it checks eligibility then spits out an "invalid transaction" message.

If I try going through the same process with other inventory gifts purchased at that same time, there's no issue and I'm able to reach the final screen with the "submit request" button. Has anyone encountered this "invalid transaction" thing before? It's only happening on the 3D Realms Anthology for me, and again it's just sitting in my inventory.

You need to contact Steam support and ask them for a refund. Same thing happened to me, but I got the gift at a discount from someone else so I had to contact them and check if they were willing to do a refund for me. He was really cool about it and offered a refund, but got the same invalid transaction error as you and had to contact steam support. Tebow also had the same problem. This issue only seems to happen when you buy it as a gift, it's really weird.

Luckily Steam support responded in a day and I got a refund.

Thanks for the info. When I click on that transaction then choose "I have a different issue with payment", the 3D Realms Anthology doesn't come up in the product search box, so I can't type a message unless I choose a different (and incorrect) product.

Try selecting a game from the pack that's only available in the pack and not individually, that's what my friend had to do. For example, Alien Carnage or Arctic Adventure. Tell steam support the reason you had to choose that game instead of the anthology.

I'm not sure about the exact menu option he chose though. Make sure you're really damn detailed when you contact them, be specific because if they don't understand your issue the first time, they tend to ignore your request.

I had the same thing with the 3D Realms Anthology, but not with a different pack which I purchased as part of the same transaction.

I ended up finding one of the games in the pack, and requesting a refund for that single game. No idea if it mattered, but I mentioned wanting a refund for the pack, but was unable to request the refund (due to that error.)

Thanks, just submitted my refund request as you guys have advised. Provided a screenshot of the error as well.

I guess this will go one of two ways:

a) Support representative will check my account and see I'm on the e-terrorist watch list for requesting one refund 6 months ago on an unplayed game, deny this refund request, add a 12-hour delay to my card drops, and put me on the VIP watch list.

b) Someone will respond in 2 months and ask me what game I'm having trouble installing and whether I've tried rebooting my PC.

Funny thing is, I bet if you get a refund by contacting steam support, it bypasses the e-terrorist flag. I do know that it bypasses the pending wallet funds. You get wallet funds back instantly, not in 3-4 days.

Looks like we'll be doing Ultra Street Fighter IV for next tuesday (not to be confused with Arcade Edition). I think it has lobby support which should make it a good choice. Next thursday is still undecided.
