I still own the SNES version of Mario All-Stars so I probably won't be buying the Wii version unless, maybe, they made the gameplay easier. Anybody finding the difficulty level of old games to be much harder and more unforgiving than today's games?

Original SNES version of All-Stars didn't include SMW, so that's probably why they left it out of the Wii release.
Years later, I was blown away when I found out that there was a version with Super Mario World. My parents bought me an SNES back when I was four, and it came with Super Mario World. I remember that there was a mail-in offer for a copy of All-Stars that they took advantage of, and it obviously didn't come with World.

It's literally the exact same as the SNES release (I want to say that it's an emulation of it, even). The Lost Levels are definitely unforgiving, at least.

Pikmin 3 Amazon ship dated got bumped up from first week of April to this Friday; if you want to get it from Amazon with the prime discount still, keep your eyes peeled to see if they open up orders again.

was at a indoor fleamarket yesterday in Quakertown, PA.

had a big videogame store, selling those Nintendo Selects at $30 a pop

someone bought a copy of mario all stars for $30 and even after i tried telling the store that they aren't $30 they refused to change price

yeah, I know, MSRP and crap, but that is just dumb. if everyone else is selling at $20 and you at $30, how many things will you sell?
I hate flea market game sellers for the most part. I get it, they need to make money because they are even less of a nobody than an actual store but still their prices are insane. I guess a flea market booth is cheap to rent because they cant be making a lot of money.

Just as bad as the people who just sell out of a truck outside in the parking lot of my flea market. I see they have games and I ask how much they are and they all seem to think "MAN! This is old so its worth a lot!"

Of course ever since the flea market by me was rebuilt a while back it just seems like its full of "stores" instead of people with booths trying to get rid of stuff for a decent price. Only thing you can find cheap at mine is beef jerky, gutters, blankets with tigers on them, or school supplies.

Reminds me of this shithole pawn shop down the street I went to about six months ago. None of the games are priced, so of course you have to ask how much. Guy goes to the computer and looks the shit up on Amazon and gives you the price on there. I laughed and walked out, haven't been back since.

How is this different from you buying games to resell on Amazon?

I see people are still talking about this constantly lol. This thread is always at the top. What more is there to say on the matter?
Well if you read the previous 10 or so posts before yours, you will see that folks were reporting Best Buy updated the pricing on the old SKUs, which I would call pertinent information

The more you know...

If they want Amazon prices, they should put forth the effort and sell them on Amazon/eBay; no other pawn shops in the area do this. Global market pricing and demand =/= local market pricing and demand. Besides, why would I buy something at Amazon prices from a scummy looking guy with an All Sales Final policy versus Amazon with a mandatory 30-day return policy?

Looks like Best Buy is finally updating some of the prices of the non-Select titles. Unfortunately, I still see vanilla Super Mario 3D World at $60. DK Tropical Freeze doesn't have a listing for plain vanilla brand new, so I wonder if it already adjusted as well.

It's always a joy to try to decipher your Engrish.
You must be assuming he's Japanese. He's obviously Asian, but I don't recall his ever revealing his specific ethnicity.

Hurry it up Best Buy! I have an original version of 3d world waiting to be price matched!

The only thing worthwhile about these re-releases is getting the original game for the new player select prices.

But seeing a sPikmin would be the best one to get, that option is kind of moot seeing how long that game has been out of print.

So it looks like ill be getting the new players choice version =].

This isn't a "limited" re-release is it? Or has that been hinted or announced in any way? I would like to wait on getting pikmin 3 if possible, but if its best to grab it now, I can do that too :3

Similar to Pikmin 3, the originals are going away. Except this time you have/had the knowledge to get it in your hands before that happens. If you really think people don't care, well... look at Pikmin 3.

Bravo to "Best" Buy getting it's head out of its ass and making these all the same price. Hey retailers, did you know you can put multiple UPCs to one sku? How special!

I apologize in advance as this may be somewhere in these 18 pages (and I didn't have a chance to review), but are the Select and non-select UPCs the same?  I found DK Tropical Freeze (non select) at walmart for $20.  I have GCU and would rather buy from BB.  So if I got the Select version from BB, could I return it to WM with the non-select receipt?   If not, no big deal.

I'm pretty sure they are different since all the websites listed them as separate items, though I don't have any on hand to compare and verify.

Yes, some vital information here lol
BREAKING: Users discuss a video game deal on a video game deal forum :whistle2:o :whistle2:o

In other news, I got both Tropical Freeze and Pikmin 3 today from Amazon, so it seems they got another shipment of both. I guess they must have been pretty back ordered if they never opened orders up again? The Prime discount made me wish I ordered Ocarina of Time as well, oh well, hopefully that comes back in stock too.

Ok mister 'P.O.S. design expert'.
Seeing as I've worked in retail since 1991, I might know a thing or two about the inner workings of said industry. Amazingly other retailers didn't have this issue, so what's Target's current excuse? This is laziness on the retailer's part as well as Nintendo for altering the UPC and not communicating it better. This happened before on prior Selects releases, not the first rodeo here on either side.

You must work at the store level and have no idea how the actual 'inner workings' work.

Does BBY impose a hard limit to the number of copies of a game you can buy with the GCU discount? I know the website says 3 copies of the same title per year, but what happens if you try I buy more? I've bought 3 copies of each of the Wii U Selects and sold them for $20 locally. I just want the reward points (purchase, GCU, Elite Plus extra 25%). I sold them them fairly fast and figured this was an easy opportunity for some rewards certificates.

The system won't deny the sale, you are responsible for keeping track of how many copies you bought. If you go over 3, you risk getting banned and losing your rewards points.

Do the Selects line have different UPC/SKU than the regular release?

A WM that's a bit out of the way has a copy of Tropical Freeze but also has the Selects line in stock. Just curious if I should risk online pick up since I'd like to avoid a Selects copy, which I could get for less at BBY after GCU.

Different UPCs. Same position as you. I bought the Tropical Freeze Select version at Best Buy with GCU then I found a non-select at Walmart for $20. Both have different UPCs. Trying to decide which to return lol.

Well since I don't know Jack shit and since you do, explain then, how do toy retailers and retailers who sell toys seem to manage multiple UPCs under a singular sku or skn?

Not all retailers have this capability. It also could be that the UPC is the same for altered versions of a toy. I am just speaking from my experience from where I work, and can tell you 100% that I don't have the capability of having 2 UPCs for the same SKU in the system I work with.

Thanks a lot BBY for the player's choice copy of Ocarina of Time instead of a black label copy when I ordered as soon as the black label listing dropped.  :twoguns:

Preordered pikmin 3 on the 8th still hasn't arrived/shipped

keeps getting delayed, supposedly supposed to come tuesday from Amazon

Maybe for Mom & Pop locations, yeah I get it. What's Target's excuse? Fry's Electronics has these synced up. If no major retailer linked these together, I'd give you it couldn't be done. EXCEPT some retailers did just that on launch day, so why can they do but other's can't? It's not like Target doesn't sell toys, they do. Even Toys R Us had these synced up, there's no excuse. This is BOTH Nintendo's fault and the retailer's as well, we can keep going back and forth, but this is EASILY avoidable. I'm tired of trying to buy a game priced significantly higher due to incompetence.

My local Walmart finally had these in(thought they already sold out). Picked up 2 All-Stars, 1 for me and 1 for the gf.

Grabbed a copy of the selects Mario All Stars from Amazon for $17 after tax. The little label isn't bad in my opinion, but I generally don't care about that type of stuff
