Songbringer's unusually deep discount is almost 75% off at $5.43 or slightly cheaper? What the shit kinda discount is that for that generic-looking game? LMK when he puts it in a Humble Bundle dollar tier.

Awesome. You can be the psychologist then!
i am a therapist which is close to a psychologist and clinically speaking, really dr abe's off, if you've got issues you should see a mechanic or something, not sure where to send a toaster for repairs

75% off is deep for a pre-order of a game that hasn't been released yet. But I don't want it either. And enough of this shit graphic retro stuff, people.

12 or so hours til Stellaris releases! And probably about 4000 hours before it's bug free =p. At least pre-ordering it has kept me from buying mediocre discounted games from the humble sale.

Also I really wish people learned how to play Battleborn. Been having horrible losses lately because the team I get matched with doesn't understand how to Battleborn and we lose horribly.
It might be a bit harsh but...

Pretty much agree on Overwatch... I haven't even really played the beta yet but I can see myself buying it from Amazon (47.99) as its not likely to be cheaper elsewhere (that I trust) after launch for a long time and I feel I'll get enough enjoyment out of it.

(Though something about the movement on controller doesn't feel right to me... so I need to find characters I feel like aren't at an overall disadvantage while playing with a controller.)

Granted, the real solution would be to go back to the early FPS (and work my way forward) and relearn WASD but that's likely not going to happen...

Must admit I am buying Overwatch based on Blizzard rep alone. Other than Heroes of the Storm they haven't done anything I didn't enjoy. Playing the beta was entertaining but if it wasn't a Blizzard game I wouldn't buy it on launch.
Based on Blizzard's rep, I'm waiting a year or three.
Diablo III was a mess. Then they got rid of the real money auction house and added season.
Then the good of the game shone through and the add-ons showed the Blizzard level of polish and neat stuff.

Starcraft 2 has been a mess as they've gone back and forth trying to make it more like eSport friendly games, and made a massive mess of it.

Hearthstone even took some time to find it's feet.

I'll buy a Blizzard game when i get it on some kind of sale, and after a bunch of foolish people have made Blizzard work out the bugs, bad design choices and just plain unfun stuff they throw into some of their titles because they think it's what the fans want.

Overwatch is half decent for what it is. I mean it needs a lot more content but there isn't much that is broken aka D3, or SC2. With that said, still worth waiting unless you got friends.

Hearthstone is still a mess if your a new player. I started playing Hearthstone recently and I keep getting owned by people with actual cards because I don't want to spend real money and I am having trouble doing my dailies. About 75% of people I play against is people with actual decks and cards they have spent either months of dailies or money on. I don't have the cards to make a competitive deck on their level.

I know people hate on it but I thoroughly enjoyed D3 on launch. Had no issues with the AH. Later I enjoyed RoS when it launched. Zero regrets buying either the base game or expansion on launch.

SC2 and Hearthstone were also both fun at launch for me. Can't say I really got my money out of the first SC2 expansion but the base game was a blast.

The fact that Blizzard actually fixes shit when it is obviously not working is one reason I don't get people comparing Overwatch to Titanfall and the like. It will obviously lack some content at launch judging from the beta. It will probably have issues that I haven't found. Blizzard will probably fix it. I could wait for it to go on a massive sale but GCU 20% off + 10$ rewards cert is enough for me to bite at launch. Also, I have zero doubt the experience will be better at launch vs a year later when you spend the first 10 hours constantly getting your ass handed to you.

You can get the game for $40 directly from Blizzard, unless the skins and stuff for other games you get with the Origins edition are worth the $8 extra to you.

Solid point... I think for 8 bucks I want them enough to not consider it a total waste of money.

Plus I'll have a spiffy box for display...

Oh, snap - extra skins, eh?

I know what Edition that Mooby will chase after...once it gets cheaper and/or hits a clearance/sale....

Wouldn't it being on sale or clearance mean it's cheaper.

Mysterd is going to make a post that is useless and/or post something that helps no one.

I can't read, but I assume this means Paypal won't let people get refunds when the Kickstarter they backed doesn't deliver.

I say good. Kickstarter is investing, not pre-ordering. If your investment fails, too bad.
Pretty sure you cannot use PayPal through Kickstarter proper... They have their on new 3rd party company doing it now... Cannot even use Amazon. (Which pretty much kills the platform for me.)

Not suggesting that you actually do it, but most projects allow for direct backing outside of Kickstarter via Paypal and they usually count that money toward stretch goals and such too.

Oh god, I thought you were joking.

That's like saying "why do other developers even bother to make military shooters when Call of Duty is around". All these companies just want money and if they think they see an opportunity to make it, they'll take it.
Perhaps, but like Call of Duty, Overwatch has already been overhyped. I haven't played a second of it and I already kind-of hate it because it's in my face no matter where I turn. Will ActiBlizzard make a crapton of money on it? Sure. Will that make it a good game? Not really. Unfortunately, it's probably not going to go away any time soon either. As others have said, Blizzard will continue to pour money into it because they can. Call me crazy or a crotchety old man, but I think they should stick to things that they're good at and people like: action RPGs and RTS games.

If you think you can do something better than someone else is doing it, I say go for it, but I don't see this game out-TF2ing TF2.

I have a free upgrade to windows 10 from 7. Do you guys recommend it or should i just stay with 7?
I agree with consensus. Join us. It only hurts for a little while.

For those dragging their feet on Win 10 upgrade but are still cheapasses and want it free (eventually).

http://www.howtogeek.com/253901/get-windows-10-for-free-after-july-29th-with-a-little-prep-now/

TL;DR - upgrade and either rollback, restore a clone drive backup of 7 or 8 or just clean slate back to 7 or 8.

Even if you think Windows 10 is the devil and gives you cancer bla bla you really should do this to reserve it now. Sooner or later you will come across something that needs it and free legit is better than not free or not legit. :p

The only issue I have with Windows10 is a sporadic bug where I'll shutdown my PC, and it'll re-boot immediately. It's pretty annoying and is only fixed by holding the power button down.

Other than that, it's great. Looks like 7 but runs smoother. Win win.

:whee:

Yeah, I know. Not too many people I would trust that much to do that... I mean besides Double Fine! :D

(Honestly, inXile entertainment, Obsidian, and Harebrained Schemes would like be it... And, hell, I passed on Harebrained Schemes Battletech game so maybe no one... Then again, I do such a piss pour job of playing these backed games before they go on a big sale that it seemed sort of foolish.)

Yeah, need to do this too...

I would not be surprised if at some point in the future Microsoft brings back the free upgrade to 10 again, even if just for limited promotion periods. Their goal is still to get as many people to upgrade as possible, they weren't giving 10 away out of the kindness of their heart.

If people want to chance it then go ahead but I just feel like even if it's a bit of hassle it's worth just knowing that you have it if you ever need it.

Part of me feels like MS will wind up making the free upgrade permanent since, as noted, they really really want people to upgrade.  And, if you haven't upgraded by now, you're sure as hell not going to do it when it costs you $50-$120 to do so.

On the other hand, another part of me realizes that the first part of me is being lazy and justifying why I don't need to get off my ass and just upgrade already.

Yeah me too. They want you to get trapped to Windows Store.

Hell, they might even make totally free version.
