Mysterd is going to make a post that is useless and/or post something that helps no one.

Severely underrated game...just like most of Troika's stuff, IMHO.

It's basically Fallout 1+2 style of combat (when in turn-based mode, which I recommend over the game's real-time mode) in a Victorian-era Steampunk setting + world with traditional fantasy characters (elves, dwarves, and orcs).

And the music in this game's amazing. One of my favorite game soundtracks of all time.

EDIT:

Also, why the hell did Activision not put Arcanum on Steam?

SERIOUSLY, get it on there.

Shadowrun Returns [Steam]:

I own Shadowrun Dragonfall [Steam], but haven't played it:

Many say Dragonfall is much better than the original Shadowrun Returns.

And honestly, I thought Shadowrun Returns was great.

EDIT:

Oh, I still actually have an extra Shadowrun Returns Steam-key from Humble lingering. I'm sure we could work out something, if you want SrR real cheap.

I applaud them for giving a discount on the Dead Island remasters for previous owners.  I put 80 something hours into those games.  If the remaster had game play improvements, I might be interested.  A prettier version of something I already thoroughly beat isn't much of a draw though.

They're dirt cheap right now, so I don't rule out buying on a spur of the moment kinda thing, but this does happen to be Deep Silver which LOVES giving away their games in bundles.

For real? Just give him the key if he wants it. How many keys have been generously dumped in your lap?

And yet, still more human than this horrorshow.

The English dialogue in every Final Fantasy game is absolutely terrible.

According to Steam-page, looks like FFX/X-2 HD has both also options for Japanese Audio.

That's good, in case the English Audio's crap-tastic...

Screw the voice acting I just want the non shited upon version of the soundtrack. They screwed the music up in the hd version. I want the original recordings.

Back on topic we go!

Kickstarter is ending in 6 days. Show me some love ya cheap bastards.

I also backed the Dark Souls board game kickstarter. It's around $365 with all the addons right now. INVESTMENTS!!1132!1

No point in backing it that much tbh since the extras will be available at retailers for cheaper (most likely - like amazon)

I hate to break this to you, but the laughing is even worse in Japanese.
Good God you weren't even kidding.

It's like hearing a crow screech into a metal pipe.

Wait - why the hell did they change the music in the HD Remaster?
Nobuo Uematsu no longer works for Square Enix and they wanted to make them more orchestral or something but without Uematsu's input most songs either seem off pitch or they have added/removed notes/instrumentals and now almost all tracks sound just wrong to us folks who played the original.

Here is an article.

Still haven't played a ff game. Tried ff7 earlier this year, got through the first 30 minutes, got bored and quit. Also dead island needs to either release a game that is better than average or just go away already.

FF7 for as much as people have nostalgia for that game, I'm sorry but it has aged horribly.

Probably not the best one to start with. The ones after it at least have passable graphics and the ones before it work in a hipster retro pixel this ain't no RPG Maker son it's the real deal sort of way.

I played FF8 on the Playstation which was, to hear people speak, one of the worst games of the series (newer ones might have surpassed it).  It was... not great.  Not horrible bad but nothing to recommend it, either.  One of those games that I only played to the end because I only owned a handful of PS games so it was that or more Parasite Eve.

I have played IV, IX, X, XII, XIII, Tactics, Tactics Advance, Dissidia, Type-0 and the XV 4 hour Episode. I own more, but I never got around to playing them.

Honestly I feel like Final Fantasy is the Mario of RPGs. Some games are really damn good, others are meh, everyone knows FF. There are just as good if and better JRPG's out there if you go looking.

On another subject I am really feeling that the community is literally ruining Battleborn. Battleborn at it's core is a really good game. The problem lies in that it seems like half of the people don't understand how to play Battleborn, the other half don't communicate to help the players who don't know what to do. At launch day it wasn't bad but now it's pretty terrible. Also I noticed I have an actual good game maybe 1 out of every 10 games. The other 9 games are one team basically dominates.

Final Fantasy games are a product of the time, you were either there when all the magic happened or you were not.  Square preys on us that felt the magic when they came out but yet others get caught up in our hype on the rereleases and don't understand it.  Then their are the FFVII fans...
