PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

Doom review copies don't even go out til Friday. Wish there were some reviews floating around already, help me to decide if I should preorder it.
Im sure its going to be solid. Probably not revolutionary but more likely a fun old school shooter along the lines of a Wolfenstein Old Blood. The videos they have been putting out make it look fantastic though.

Wren, we were talking about how much soccer players make at one point, this article talks about the highest paid ones. They lump in endorsements to the overall total, but break down to both salary and endorsement money too.

http://www.espnfc.us/spanish-primera-division/story/2870000/cristiano-ronaldo-best-paid-player-with-lionel-messi-second-forbes

Original article is forbes but they can eat a dick with their ad blocker nonsense.

TLDR, Ronaldo is highest paid team sport player in the world and made 82 million last year (53 salary 29 endorsements)

For reference, third highest was zlatan Ibrahimovic, he only made 37 total (30 in salary)

I am actually shocked how good that AC trailer is.  It has all the coolest parts of the game (air assassinations, leaps of faith, and hidden blades).  While I do not care for the Animus stuff that much in the game, I think it would be a much less interesting movie without it.  The only thing I did not like about the trailer was portions of the music with the rapping.  That seemed out of place to me.

The trailer looked alright. Music was garbage, though. Of course watching the trailer made me remember how rough that first game was; it feels weird to have a movie tie-in that doesn't concide with a remake of or new sequel to the game it's based on. Wonder if AC'll be remade as well?

Trailer was flashy, but if that movie doesn't suck I'll be amazed. Guess I'm butt-buddies with Kilik.

Its not based on the first game, first game was set in third crusade, they mentioned spanish inquisition in trailer. Well at least the in animus part aint from the first, the outside animus stuff could be mostly from the first one though.

Controls are extremely dated and the gameplay is constantly interrupted (more than 5 minutes of gameplay is rare) by stupid bullshit including you taking phone calls from your girlfriend while you're on a save-the-world spy mission on an oil platform in the middle of the ocean.
It's pretty much this exactly. You can never get into a good flow in the game because the exposition is constant. You'll never progress more than 2 or 3 rooms without being interrupted by a phone call, or whatever they call their communication system.

To make things worse, the conversations are absolutely inane and lack any sort of humor, they're just so dumb. When they do actually relate to the plot it doesn't really matter because it's way too nonsensical to matter.

There's also an awful combat segment near the end of the game that I hated as well.
Yep--no spoiler but it's a completely different combat method that isn't used previously in the game. It's terrible both conceptually and mechanically.
You two realize that you pretty much described the series in general? It doesn't make any sense to single out one game for things that are prevalent throughout the entire series. Your beef shouldn't be with MGS2, but with all the entries... especially the earlier ones. In fact, you could use all of these complaints against the first MGS especially... I guess it's safe to assume that you didn't like it either?

TL;DR - I helped you figure out you don't like the series so now you don't need to bother with the rest of them... you're welcome, you commie bastards.

That's release day. That doesn't bode well, does it?
I read some statement from the publisher or whoever that said because the multiplayer and this snapmap feature they're touting are so important they're not sending review copies until release day (when those things are up and running). Kind of dumb, but there is enough footage of the single player campaign floating around to convince me that it going to be cool. At least worth the price you'd end up paying after GCU, $10 cert, and quick trade in.

I watched a YT video of the GC version of the first game, but I've only played the 2nd game. In which game did the controls get better? I have 2-4, Peacekeeper, and Ground Zeroes.

I LOVED MGS on PS1.  I played it on release and it was one of my favorite games ever at the time.  I was pumped for MGS2 on PS2.  By the time it came out though my gaming habits changed and I didnt even get past the opening part of the game with Snake.  I never got to the other guy.  Because I just didnt care for those type of games anymore.  So sometimes your likes and dislikes can just change.

I tried MGS4 because it was cheap and I was curious and it confirmed I still hate that stealth gameplay and LOOONG ass cut scenes that you cant skip.  I will eventually try out Ground Zeroes that we got free because why not, but I am sure I wont last long.

This reminds me I need to get back to MGS2. I didn't dislike the game, I just went into it straight after playing the first one and got stealth'd out. I think I made it maybe an hour or so into the part with Raiden.

Maybe if I ever get done with Digimon... and Ni No Kuni. Why do I keep playing JRPGs D: Feels bad man.

Thats what I thought. I knew there was a reason I cringed every time I heard that voice. I think it seems to fit but if I have to hear his voice much in the movie it will definitely detract from my overall enjoyment of it.

It's just a trailer, and that's not a new track or anything. To your original question, I'm not aware of him doing the music for the movie, just using this song in a trailer.

Which sucks, giving that dip shit money on each time someone plays that shitty trailer.
