4K is overrated.

I still watch SDTV regularly.

We don't even have readily available HDTV here, even if you have access it costs and is DRM'd to hell, with different channels using incompatible protections, so you need different devices to get all channels that are free in SD and then pay to get decoder cards (well it's like 3€ a month par card but still).

I just bought The Revanant in 4k but don't have any of the equipment yet.  Stores here already have a bunch of 4k movies.

TV DRM wat

Originally DRM was invented to protect pirates from watching paid content free. Now DRM protects free (ad-supported) content, so I have to pirate it in order to watch.

Define a bunch. Also some of those are shit movies no one wants like Fox hack pointed out.

Oh and Madjoki lol @sd. How is it livin in the 90s?

Yes, they are direct caps. Now imagine this on large-ish tv.

Closest Best Buy has one completely full sectional comprised of all 4k movies (4k + BD + digital HD copy). There are probably about 50 movies total. Just a month ago there were only two shelves worth. However, now most of the major new releases are coming out on 4k. I'm going in there later today so I'll snap a picture and post it.

Yeah it's relatively recent. I really don't like it either. But it has someone like me startled who spends a lot of money on BDs. If you were going to spend $20 on a day one blu ray for a movie you skipped in the theater like Deadpool, Mad Max, or the Martian, it's now worth it to consider spending a few bucks more ($25) to get the 4k if it's on sale. Might as well futureproof now. Sticker price is $29.99 for most of them, but movies are usually on sale during their release week.

I know they have to start somewhere but 50 mostly recent movies, half of which are probably crap like Fantastic 4 and Hitman, seems like crap compared to every movie released ever. Especially when you consider how much the equipment costs, $100 glitches which probably won't be honored notwithstanding.

Also I don't know about anyone else but I don't get any channels in 4K on my cable system nor do I seem to have any streaming options for 4K (I have fiber so I do have the bandwidth to handle it).

I think it's nice technology and all and eventually I'll get it but not at the moment.

You guys, you guys, I just got 66 cents from selling a Steam card in the Vive bundled games and in this market climate. Seriously, I'm tickled over here, as this VR headset is already practically paying for itself. Cha ching, baby! WOOOOHH, bitches.!

Oh BTW

The TV "deal" seems to be Dead.  But if you switch from the 43 or other larger sizes to the 40" fast and click Add to Cart, you can get it for $100 still.

Just tried and it works or worked 30 seconds ago.

Not working for me in chrome or firefox. Me and this tv just isn't meant to be.

Doesn't work for me, either. The whole page reloads when you change the size field. Would have been in41 cancellation e-mail if it worked.

EDIT: It's fixed on the site.

I'm sorry but who did these RPG Maker clowns fuck to get featured with top billing on the front page with AAA new releases like Doom?

I dunno. I think that's telling us more about you than Steam. When I log in to Steam, the game with top billing is Final Fantasy X/X2, followed by X3: Terran Conflict and then Doom.

What in the world are you doing to that poor account?

uh sorry but your theories are wrong. I have games recommended for me unchecked so Steam just sucks. Also it varies if you refresh the page a somewhat different list will show every time, but still.

I don't know why the fuck those games are showing up. That demon one only ever had 66 people max playing it, but it's cheap and has cards so maybe it's a top seller among the +1 crowd because of that.

I posted about this days ago but whatever. Steam seems to be suffering a glitch lately. I had everything checked off except games and still get movies shown in new releases.

You guys... I thought this was "cheap" ass gamer.  4K Blu Rays aren't.  It's 30-40 bucks for the Blu Ray, a retarded amount for the player...

Just do 4K netflix for like 12 bucks or something.  It looks nice.  You watch that one or two nature-y shows (because everyone does that with 4k... "it looks so real.." or "I can see it's pores" or "you can see the individual sands on a beach") and move on :)

Sorry, but after 1900 hours in Marvel Heroes steam just tosses me every free to play game imaginable on my front page...

I guess what I'm saying is... It could be worse?

Someone on Reddit is blaming indie devs for not caring about the Steam community and leaking confidential information. Lol. Oh no, we know the annual steam summer sale is this summer! Will

Talking about deals, maybe someone wants to visit Crimea.

Everytime I see those kinda games (Naruto et al) I think "Wow! They look cool! I bet they're great!".

Then I remember that I bought NARUTO SHIPPUDEN: Ultimate Ninja STORM 3 Full Burst*, played it for about 20 minutes, had no idea what was going on, and promptly uninstalled it.

I'm assuming they're all much the same.

:speaktothehand:

* - copy/pasted because that's an incredibly long and silly title
