I'm trying to decide what to purchase.

I would easily choose Alien Isolation, except they do not have the bundle/DLC on sale. This would be my top choice I think, but the season pass seems pricey for a game that has been out almost 2 years.

Dragon Age is very cheap... but then I looked into it and it seems like there is a lot of DLC available for this game. None of it is on sale, but I did download some of the DLC that was free in the past. Do you need most of the DLC if you want to make the most out of this game? If not, which DLC do you need?

It looks like Scholar of the First Sin is the best value here, as it comes with all the DLC. Also, it seems like this is the best price you can find anywhere for the game.

Help?!
Oof. Isolation was on sale with the bundle for ~$15 a month or so ago. Keep an eye out, it'll come around again.

Never read LOTR? OK, I can forgive that. But then you say never seen the films, either?! Are you even a true CAG? *lets be honest, most of us members are hardcore gaming, anime, film, lore, fantasy fans, so it struck me as odd..*
I've never watched the movies. I saw Fellowship theatrical and extended and stopped there.

I've also never seen the original Star Wars trilogy. Or the prequel trilogy. Or that last one.

I read the Hobbit, and found it extremely boring (that man took way too long to say ANYTHING), and watched Fellowship, Two Towers, and Return of the King, and was extremely bored by them, especially two Towers.  However, I love Harry Potter, Redwall, Percy Jackson,  and am currently reading through the NIMH books (2 down one to go)

What? This is un-American...or un-worldly if you aren't in the US.

Well, I could forgive you for not watching the prequels.

You have terrible tastes. Fact

I also find LOTR boring. I did like Shadow of Mordor a lot though. If the movies were like that and ditched the stupid hobbits and old wizards I'd be a fan.

Oh, no, people on the internet don't like my taste in books, (as I'm sure others feel similarly), whatever shall I do? I guess I'll just have to continue to enjoy my books that don't take 30 pages to say "The sky was blue"

eh they are kinda old movies so there's always going to be a generation of young people who haven't seen it. Though they at least heard of it so you know they wern't living under a rock.

I jest, of course. But seriously, get on that s**t....and while you're at it, do the extended versions. 12 hrs of bliss for a newbie.
i've never seen the movies

as far as "nerd culture" goes i just like video games

Awww do you take offense to a joke.

I noticed the third episode or whatever it is of Desert Ashes is 19 cents.  Shows I own the first two (had no idea, presumably through PS+), should I go ahead and grab the third part?

ok so we are all in agreement that we need a flash sale tomorrow and gift card deals to go with the 15 bucks for 100 psn deal?

good
There's a good chance they'll follow last year's pattern like with this best of E3 sale and have the flash sale on the 24th. Last year it was on the 26th. So, don't get your hopes up.

Awww do you take offense to a joke.
A) pretty sure I treated it as a joke, and B) you don't have any idea how to write jokes. A joke would've been "Oh, didn't realize you were actually a 12 year old." Simply saying "Your have terrible tastes. Fact." is not a joke (also that's a really weird pluralization

-.-

Taking the internet so literally. I am sorry for you

Pretty decent sale.  Got Omega Quintet, Child of Light, Ni No Kuni, and Legend of Heroes - Trails of Cold Steel.

I am debating on Megadimension Neptunia VII.  I know the price is great but not sure if the game is for me.  I love JRPG's (my favorite genre overall) and am not against fan service but I also am not a huge fan of it either.  This would be my first game in the series.

Any opinions on if I should give it a chance?

I would definitely give it a shot, I've really enjoyed what I've played so far.

So what you're saying is you want a Quenta Silmarillion movie.

I didn't say I didn't watch any Star Wars. I saw Ep IV and Ep I. Neither are my thing. And I read LotR multiple times before the movies came out. I just didn't care for the adaptation.

With both e3 and Father's Day it would seem this week would be a prime for a flash sale. However, the sale this week seems too strong for them to include a flash sale this weekend. If my memory is correct, the last several flash sales have been during some truly terrible weekly sales.

I'm really happy with this sale.    I could easily spend $100 if i let myself, though my current cart is half that.   I'm also resisting converting a couple games to digital [which i do sometimes].

My current cart:

BF Hardline - played 1/4 of it and sold it, want it back

AC Black Flag - burned out on the collectathon,  but time to give it another try

Need for Speed -- love the franchise, dug the beta

Omega Quintet -- $4 for backlog filler.

Child of light - vita.... probably more backlog filler

Rainbow Six -   been wanting this for ages.

Anyone think Destiny for $30 is worth it?    Debating really hard.

My current cart is $65.... and I do want to get to $100, but i have next week sales to consider and there are a LOT of games on my 'want' list [severed, risk of rain, xcom vita, civ vita, etc] that i want more than just filling my cart with maybes.

$30 for Taken King? Absolutely. It has loads of content. Although the drops and grinding may be frustrating, it is definitely a more complete package now than ever. You can also throw in the Rise of Iron DLC for an additional $30 that comes out in September.

there's even more dlc coming? i figured the taken king legendary had it all. maybe i'll just wait for the super epic legendary edition which has that, too.

I'm going to leave the Destiny decision up to my bud, i think. he owns it... if he'll play through it with me I'm good.

You definitely want somebody to play with. Preferably 2. Raids in the game require 6 people. It's honestly a lot of fun with friends. I never bought into the hype before it was released so when I purchased it was I fine with the game. I wasn't let down like many people were. But the Taken King just adds so much more content. I definitely enjoyed it

It's supposed to be a 10 year game plan. So far Destiny + Expansion 1 (Dark Below) + Expansion 2 (House of Wolves) + Taken King + Rise of Iron (this one will be out this year)....so yeah its a long haul.

That one in the store is a good value, but then in september or whenever the next one comes out you'll have to shell another $30

Think of it like WoW or any other MMO and have to buy an expansion every 2-3 years. Though Destiny is yearly so not not worth the extra money.

I didnt like destiny. The single player story was so boring I never finished it. The multiplayer seemed to be the whole point of the game but I dont have the time or inclination to play a game merely for grinding anymore.

Throwing it out there. Destiny requires some time dedicated to it... I'm talking at least a month or so of nonstop playing whenever you can before you feel like your making some huge progress. I enjoyed my time with it but I hated singling that game out for all my time. So with a sale like this, I would avoid destiny because you will be picking up so much more to play. I love rainbow six, easily my favorite shooter in years, I have a hard time convincing people to just play it but I honestly feel like it's great

So far I've grabbed:

Unravel (finished it and I can say I enjoyed Limbo a lot more as far as puzzle platformers go)

Megadimension Neptunia

Omega Quintet

Book of Unwritten Tales 2

Am I the only one to think about double dipping on stuff that's $5 or less? I already own Lego Marvel on PC but I'm considering getting it on PS4 for the trophies. I might have a problem...

Trophies are better than Steam achievements any day...there I said it!

Go for it.

One of the best Lego games and it has an easy platinum as well. I'm considering it at this rate too.

Haha...I agree. Steam achievements don't make that satisfying sound when you unlock them.

Go for it.

Yeah, it's a fairly long but easy Platinum so I'm really leaning towards getting it especially since I only played a handful of levels on PC. I was considering double dipping on Lego Batman 3 as well but that has a bunch of DLC trophies so I'm going to pass.

Man I really hope there's a flash sale tomorrow and not next week instead. The E3 sale prices are so good, 8 games only total $66 and I still need $34 to get to $100.

If there's no flash sale then I won't be getting 6 of the 8 games lol.

a flash sale is the difference between me spending a little or a lot tomorrow

your move psn!

While I do like Tolkien, I sympathize with your position. He's got a different writing style (high on history/detail) that may not be for everyone. Once you've finished NIMH, go read the Mistborn trilogy, you'll thank me later. :)

Sounds interesting, but I'd like to take the time to point out that Jacques was a lore whore and detail monkey in his Redwall series, and that didn't turn me off.  There's a difference between taking the time to flesh things out, and describing the tiniest crack in the wall in the corner of some random guy's house (I know it wasn't that bad, but the Hobbit kind of felt like that wayyyy too often)
