PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

Retro City Rampage DX got a free PSP version if you own it already on PS4, PS3, and/or Vita.

They're selling a PS4 physical version tomorrow that has new cover and disc art for $30.  The first 3000 come with PSP materials including an instruction book and display case, a gold logo variant on the PS4 cover, and a Steam key.

If you don't give a shit about all that, here's the link to the PSP version on the PSN store, which will show up as free if you already own any of the others.

4X Cross Buy. That's a first!

Ordered Star Fox, Super Mario Maker, and Yoshi Wooly Bully World in the Best Buy Pre BF sale for Elites because I made it to Elite last year.

Terrific. Make sure to post the codes of your levels.

Here's a thread with other CAGs posting their level designs (including yours truly): https://www.cheapassgamer.com/topic/303092-super-mario-maker-discussion-updatethe-imaginary-game-that-will-get-me-to-buy-a-wiiu-super-mario-maker/page-6

It's been a while since I uploaded some, but I would be motivated to do it more often if Super Mario Maker was also available for 3DS.

Also, Best Buy with the stealth GCU pricing on this sale shows how stupid some people are in the pre BF thread who can't figure out that when the game is said to be on sale for $30 and shows up at $24 on the game's page, that GCU is stacking.

Yeah I thought there was no GCU cuz I listened to the morons in the thread. Boy I'll never listen to anyone on the internet ever again!

Nice. Glad to hear it puzzles are less of a pain. I'm real close to finishing VLR and plan to hop into this one after. The escape rooms are fine in theory, but I mostly wanted to be done with them to move along with the story since it's pretty intriguing. And just about every escape room has at least one puzzle where I say "fuck that I don't feel like figuring this out" and hop over to a guide. Don't get me started on the expectation that I wrote down passwords revealed in other timelines so that I can use them later. The game knows if I was shown the password so just make my character automatically input them.
Ya, there is some of that in ZTD, but they usually hang a lantern on it by having the characters say it is important. I would have a piece of paper handy as there are 3 or 4 strings of numbers/letters you are going to have to write down in the course of play for later use.

God damn, the stupidity in that thread continues. There are enough morons in there to do 3 sequels to The Ringer.
I am no longer Elite but it sounds like BB made it more confusing then it needed to be. Here is the sale price. Put it in your cart. Go to cart to see 20% more come off for having GCU.

For the 2 or 3 years I have had GCU it was always pretty clear what the cost of the game was before and after GCU.

I doubt there is anything I will pick up so I don't really care either way.

Ok, I just read something which greatly clarified something I was confused about in the Zero Time Dilemma ending reveal. So when you inevitably have the same question remind me and I'll put it in again in spoiler tags or you can come back to this post.

Big ZTD ending spoilers, so don't click if you don't want to be spoiled.

Zero is
YOU! You play the majority of the game through zero's point of view.

While the other characters have the ability to shift their consciousness between the alternate timelines, Zero has a different ability, mind hacking. Mind hacking allows Zero to read other characters' thoughts (to gain knowledge of any alternate timelines they have visited) and influence their actions by briefly taking over their body. Any time a character makes an action, such as pushing a button, when they planned to do the opposite, it is because YOU (Zero) mind hacked them and forced them to take that action against their will by making the choice for them with the touchscreen.

Zero is there the entire time, we don't see Zero because we are always looking at things from Zero's perspective or the perspective of those we have mind jacked. The other characters never interact with us (and barely mention us), because they believe we are an old, blind, deaf, mute in a wheel chair. A part of the DCOM Mars experiment that was going on when everyone was abducted by Zero. We played the part of a cripple and silently observed and influenced the game until it was time for our reveal.

I wasn't really confused about that, but there was another issue I had that was similar (More ZTD spoilers)

Because of the way they handle perspective in the game and how you never see other characters in the environments when doing a room escape I got extremely confused with the incinerator one. I had no idea the game was switching me between phi and diana in separate parts of the room. Even when I looked it up, the guide I found was just like "have phi do x" and I had no idea how to do it since the game was just telling me she was trapped in the incinerator. It was super frustrating.

What I didn't get about the ending is how come sigma and diana didn't seem to change their attitude towards zero at all after they found out he was their son. I'd expect some sort of trying to save him/trying to redemption or something, but they just kind of stuck with hating him for putting them through the situation.

So fuckin stupid. Just let me order the regular one with the Prime discount!

Extra stupidity included that it forces you to get the season pass with this one, bumping it up an additional $40.
the season pass is in the other ce as well

The Regular CE. It's $100 and has a normal statue, not a weird overpriced RC Car. Bums said he heard its a Ubi Store exclusive....
regular ce is $130, so for $22 extra with prime you get a cool rc car vs a 6" figure

ZTD spoiler

Eh, he's 124, It'd be one thing if he was still young, but at that point he's pretty far past redemption. What are you gonna do, redeem him so he can live out less than year? Sigma's almost spent a lifetime hating him, he's 67 after all.

I was a bit more befuddled with how everyone didn't bat an eye at Mira being a serial killer who was in cahoots with Zero and (seemingly) killed unstable Eric's Mom which caused the disintegration of their family unit and indirectly caused the death of his brother and the death of Akane's parents when one was falsely accused and the other committed suicide.

No one here will likely care (except maybe Sage and/or Derek), but World of Final Fantasy is getting a SE Store-exclusive Collector's Edition for $119.99:

WoFF-CE_07-21-16_001.jpg

Presented as a physical pop-up book, World of Final Fantasy comes to life through striking 3D paper cutouts. As the pop-up book is opened, fantastic physical content concealed in the book is revealed, including:
  • Physical game disc
  • A special 80-page hardback artbook showing off the fresh toy-like visuals
  • The original soundtrack of the game’s enchanting score
  • A set of three mini-figurines including the legendary Cloud, Lightning and Squall
  • Extra digital content, including White Chocobo, Glow Moogle and Red Bonnetberry mirages, a Sephiroth summon and a Japanese voice-over option add-on
There's also a Limited Edition with artbook packaging (not sure how that will work for the Vita version) and Day-One Edition with just the DLC included:

If anything, I might preorder the Vita Day-One Edition to secure the Japanese Voiceover DLC.

New trailer, too:

i love me some square, but their ce's are always terribly priced. if it came with a vita copy as well, i'd probably bite. that pop up book does sound pretty sweet though, and i love that squall is finally getting rep'd.

ZTD talk

There's always time for redemption!

I thought the same thing about Mira when I was playing the ending, I just forgot about it now. I don't think I connected every single one of those dots since that story was told so piecemeal and throughout the whole game. But yeah, I definitely thought it was weird when they were all like "We're gonna work together to change the world and make it a better place! Even this psycho killer!" She also seems kind of like an odd man out since a lot of the backstories for characters are about what happened to them to cause them to be weird in whatever their weird way is (possibly with some manipulation by zero), but she was just born psycho. Unless there was something I'm missing?

ONE HUNDRED TWENTY DOLLARS AMERICAN FOR THAT CE???

I preordered the vita version of world of final fantasy.  I'd love to know how shitty it looks/performs before it ships but meh.  They did awesome with ffx remaster on vita so I'll roll the dice.

This is only being offered for free with Gamestop preorders of FFXV:
