Target and BBY are hard to come by. In NY for vacation ATM.

It's also OOS online so most likely they will say no
Where in NY are you? There's a Best Buy in Union Square if you're in Manhattan. In fact, theres like 6 in Manhattan. And at least 1 in Brooklyn and 1 in Queens.

Target's a bitch, but theres definitely one in Brooklyn.

For anyone that cares, In Case of Emergency, Release Raptor is getting delisted soon. The dev claims that all people that bought it will be refunded and get to keep the game. I don't see how that's possible if you buy it on steam though, but the dev didn't really clarify how refunding/keeping the game will be done.

Dev's reasoning can be found here. You can still buy it, so it might be worth it to buy it and if the dev doesn't deliver on his promise, refund it yourself before two weeks are up.

I see that suddenly our general sales for the game are up 200%. That's... great. With those sorts of numbers we could be creating this game for quite some time.

I'm staying in The Aldyn on riverside by 60th bordering the Pier I Cafe. So tired from walking every day lol. Actually flying back to TX tonight.

I figure BBY won't match since its OOS.

If you're up for a walk and to try Bestbuy there's one on 44th and 5th Ave, 2 blocks north of the main Library branch, with the Lions (Patience and Fortitude) out front and Bryant Park in the back, you can try to snag a game and sight see at the same time!

Best Buy is a national chain. You shouldnt have much problem. It doesnt hurt to try at any rate. Check online and look at store availability. There's a Best Buy at 86th and Lexington at any rate. I work in the 60s off Broadway. Another BBY at 62nd and Broadway.

I hate to say I told you so.

Who am I kidding? I fuck ing LOVE saying I told you so.

I told you so.

Dumbasses.
Eh, some people love being part of the upset mob and rabble, and watching people lose their shit over what's basically a Little Caesar's pizza, a gallon of milk and a dozen eggs, or a matinee showing of a terrible movie is a fun source of drama for all.

Look at the absolute shit fit people had over Star Ruler 2!

Thing is, sometimes the drama bomb is so much more fun if you're actually invested. $4.50 to have complete freedom to bitch incessantly, chew out a silly dev, and expound like a bombastic politician pounding on a podium? Where else are you going to find a bargain like that on entertainment per hour? This whole situation is going to probably take at least 2-3 days to finish, so you're getting high quality drama for pennies per hour!

But the whole plan from the beginning is for people to request a refund on Steam if he doesn't refund people and let them keep the game.

I actually would prefer if he finished it personally. Didn't know the game existed until this drama happened, but it looks neat and cheap enough to say why not?

That said, I suspect the dev will change his mind due to the stellar sales the next few days. Then people will get pissed and he will get hit with a ton of refunds. Then he will decide to shut the game down suddenly again. Then people will get pissed again because instead of giving them a warning so they can buy it, it will be gone for good suddenly and they will never get to plus 1 it.

Should be fun.

Approximately some 4 hours into Doom (2016).

This game is still freakin' awesome. It is relentless, doesn't let up much. When it does let up, it's not long and only for a few sprinkled story-bits. And it's up to you, when you find stuff - you can check out any Info/Lore/Codex stuff in-game from your suit.

Love this freakin' game.

I suspect you're right. But after the mass refunds people will request through Steam I'm guessing nothing will happen, development will cease but game will stay on Steam. It'll eventually be in a few bundles before regularly being 49c on Steam.

Shady dev's gonna milk every penny out of shady dev games.

I'll be honest, I don't think this guy is shady, just naive.

Spoder pointed out they are the same dev that had their previous games heavily bootlegged due to choosing keys that could be easily keygenned.

I think he thought he wgas only reaching his tiny group of people who bought the game and didn't think the post would get spread so that a whole bunch of people online saw it. I don't think he realized how many people buy stuff just for the plus 1 when it is going to get delisted and him saying he would refund it just put more gas on the fire. So basically, I don't think he thought this through. He even says he thought the delisting was going to be processed much quicker than it has been.

I think the real plan was to have people buy and refund so they get added to the 2 hour delay card drop blacklist.

Glad to see some of you dingalings are finally finding out what an excellent game Doom is. If I lived in a hyperbolic chamber I might just call it one of the all-time FPS campaigns.

By the way, where the heck did MrDangus go? I thought we'd be seeing a lot more of that dangus.

since when Steam refunds you when your game gets delisted?

There is a fine line between shady and naive. Both are subclasses of dumbass, however, so they have that going for them.

Gave into the activity feed peer pressure and bought the stupid raptor game. Will be annoyed if I have to manually refund this pos and get 2h card restriction out of it. I obviously have no self control.

I finally got Battlefield 4. And having gotten the map packs free from Origin promos recently, it's awesome to get the complete experience at such a low price.

Thanks for the sacrifices everyone, but I probably wouldn't get this game even when its eventually 99 coins on Tremor.

Spent two hours or so "playing" MGS V.  Is there an actual game at some point?  Because between the cut scenes, the credits, more credits, the lol-pick-ur-face, more cut scenes, more credits (does each cut scene have its own credits or something?) and staring up into some dude's anus while I crawled down a hallway for ten minutes, I think I've spent perhaps 30min engaged in anything that could charitably be called "game play".

Did I mention Doom shoots you right into the action? Like even before the intro credits you already killed some demons.

That's my main gripe with modem games. It feels like it takes forever for some of these games to even start.

The first couple of hours are almost completely unlike the rest of the game. The rest of the game consists almost entirely of gameplay and few cutscenes, so you'll get exactly what you're hoping for.

Sounds like you might not be familiar with the rest of the series, but this game is very unusual for its lack of cutscenes. There's really not much story except in the intro, which is very weird for an MGS game. The game as a whole is very different from the rest of the series in many ways, but the lack of much story is the big one.

Doom and MGSV are both really good in their own way. You definitely have to deal with some typical Kojima trash before the game opens up, but I'm glad I didn't give up on TPP after the first few hours (which was really tempting because they are garbage). It's really fun once you're let loose in the first big map.

Meanwhile, Doom pretty much encompasses everything than is fun about gaming. More games need to be like Doom.

Considering that's in the middle if the Dark Zone I hope he doesn't get ganked at extraction...

Can anyone speak to the quality of Galactic Civilizations III? I love MOO2 but never really played any modern space 4X games.

Combat is the least important aspect to me, but I do prefer turn-based to real-time.

Seeing the new Master of Orion (which seems to be getting pretty mixed reviews) sparked my interest.

I'm curious. If I finished the ridiculous horseback chase before quitting because there were more horses in a desert in the next cutscene, how far am I from gameplay?

See, that's stuff I can use. Not pearl-clutching at how I dare speak ill of MGS V's game play.

Is there any in-game items - such as documents, audio logs, Lore/Codex type of stuff, etc - like Bioshock and Doom 2016 use to find/pick-up in MGS5: TPP to give the player more info about the story, characters, factions/groups, weapons, items and stuff like that?

I've lifted a few cassette tapes and documents but haven't gone through them yet.  Also, I passed some "biological materials" and was told I should take them because "they're already prepared".  Which sounds a lot as though I'm stealing some dude's lunch.

Doom 2016's Single Player Campaign has been great so far. I don't know, but I'm around 7 hours in - and this might be one of the best non-open-world single-player campaigns that I've played in quite a long time. If this keeps it up, it might be one of the best SP Campaigns for a FPS of all time for me. For me, if this keeps up - Doom 2016 would be right up there w/ the likes of SP campaigns for Quake 2; Half-Life 1+2; FEAR 1 (base-game); and Bioshock 1 for me.

Yeah, the old Doom games were great and all - but Doom 2016 feels like (so far, some 7 hours in) the close-to-perfection here of that old-school Id style of their SP campaigns with naturally a few twists thrown in (Challenge Map Rune areas, upgrading your weapons + character a little bit, etc). Basically, for gameplay - look at gameplay for old-school Doom game and Quake 2 for what I'm talking about...with how levels are mapped-out as a labyrinths (with key-cards!); objectives for a map remind me of Quake 2; story-telling similar to Doom 3; Lore stuff in style of Doom 3's PDF and also what the Bioshock series did [i.e. non-open world single player campaigns].

Man, now I really want a new Quake single-player campaign with gameplay like that of Doom 2016. I'd love to see part of the campaign be in the old Quake 1 map style with the medieval/gothic look with modern weapons; and another part of the game on the Strogg Q2/Q4 futuristic sci-fi setting.

Did you play Wolfenstein? How does it compare?
Yup.

Wolfenstein: The New Order was pretty damn good, IMHO.

TNO actually tells a better story + has better character development than Doom - as one would expect, since some of MachineGames actually worked at StarBreeze on Chronicles of Riddick: Butcher Bay, which was another excellent FPS w/ some stealth elements that told a pretty good story for especially that type of game. Story + character stuff was never really Id's thing, TBH.

I'll take Doom 2016's gameplay any day over Wolf: TNO's. TNO has some stealth elements here and there, as well - but Doom's just non-stop relentless action period; and I've been looking for THIS kind of shooter for a LONG time. I absolutely love Doom 2016's combat & weapons (every weapon has its own feel and each weapon is meaningful w/ its variations/alternate weapon types), everything is just so fast-paced, loaded with movement, and especially the huge labyrinth-like levels.

I haven't got to really sinking my teeth much into Wolfenstein: The Old Blood (which I do have), so can't speak on that.

At this point I've played the first mission of The Old Blood and a mission and a half of Doom. Based on first impressions, they are both great games, but Doom definitely feels a lot more frantic. I think that's the main difference I can tell from the two. Obviously, while still a video game and still with some supernatural elements, the Wolfenstein series is much more rooted in realism than Doom so the gameplay sort of reflects that. Doom is like over the top and the gunfights feel less tactical so far and more just demons everywhere and hectic.

Also, in happy Sunday news, turns out my monitor is still in warranty so I won't have to pull out the soldering iron just yet.
