Yes yes yes! Especially if you enjoyed the main game. I ended up buying a physical copy of complete edition, then traded the disc back in, cost around $10 total but I am loving the DLC.

I played some co-op with a friend when it came out. That was kind of a pain in the butt because you play as one of the host's party members; you can't bring your single player character or switch off hosting without starting over. Other than that it was a solid tactical rpg.

Yeah Shadow Warrior is an old schoolish FPS. I paid either $6 or maybe $8 for it on PSN year before last. Great game. Lots of fun.

I bought it. The comparison wth PSN getting it free didn't really apply, since the Xbox One version has extra shit (and just came out in May). I like that type of game a lot and watched a little Twitch play of it.Looked fun to me.

Any reason to give OlliOlli2 a shot if I didn't like the first one? I didn't hate it, but it was one of those games where I played the first few levels and felt like there wasn't much else to experience with it. Like a mobile runner game.

 
Best gaming purchase: Not the most exciting pick, but Overwatch. Got it through GCU so it ended up being $48 with a $10 RZ certificate, and it was my most-played game of the year by a large margin. (Heh- I said "Large Marge.")

Worst gaming purchase: Maybe a three-way tie. I bought Blood Bowl 2 at launch because it sounded awesome and I played it about 7-8 hours. Got Wasteland 2 at launch digitally and played about 20 hours, but ended up getting sick of it. And I bought Battlefront at a mild discount digitally and traded in my disc copy, which is fine, but I maybe played it three times between then and when it went free via EA Access.

It's definitely a good policy. Though I agree, getting a few free games each month with GWG makes it hard to stick to such a policy. One thing I've decided to do is try to get some momentum by tackling the quickest games to beat in my backlog, Dave Ramsey-style. I can at least rotate in some quicker games while I continue to slog away at longer stuff.

I totally give a shit. I like playing Zenyatta a lot and I swear I nearly had it once, to where I was expecting it to pop at any second. After getting some of the tougher achievements, I thought I could eventually complete the game, but stuff like the Lucio wall-riding kills or Reaper's kills without reloading achievement make me think it's not gonna happen.

Don't be afraid to leave the opening area is what I'd say. Also, don't hold yourself to doing EVERYTHING if you feel your enthusiasm dwindling. I did so many boring side quests trying to be a completionist that by the time I said "eff it" and finished up the story, I had no interest in continuing with the DLC. I will eventually, though.

I would LOVE to go all digital. Part of the problem is that even though it's not like I can't afford to pay a little extra for games, I feel like I'm letting MS off the hook if I do it right now when they're still not even trying to compete with physical prices or offer any kind of rewards system that's as good as what Prime or GCU offers. I realize they're worried about pissing off retailers by underselling them, but they could at least give us somewhere close to the same price.

Good call. I bought it and told myself I was only going to play for an hour or two. 6 hours later I finally convinced myself to stop. Even then, I went straight to the Marketplace and downloaded all of the DLC even though it's all full price

It is more of the same - but with improved controls, better levels and more detailed visuals.

But, if you did not like the first one, I would say to pass on this.

 
Isn't Port Royale 3 supposed to be terrible?  I'm thinking of getting it in the hope that it'll go backward compatible down the road.

Was going to buy the disc since It's $10 at Wal-Marts everywhere for MSRP, but I game share and that's $10 each.

I did a coin toss between that and Darksiders 1 Warmastered edition, since I bought DS2 on sale. Looks like DS1 has to wait for the sale.

Darksiders 1 was terrific, albeit a bit Zelda-y. I'm wondering when they will ever put it on sale.

Last we saw Pitchford said it wasn't going F2P but getting a trial that could be played for free with the option to buy both the base game AND DLC. Being able to buy DLC without the full game sure sounds like F2P to me though.

This was 3 months back and still nothing, since it didn't save Evolve it may not be happening anymore. By the time it happens Paladins may even be out on console which would probably lead to another Overwatch sitatuion.

I guess we'll see what happens when Gearbox panics as Bulletstorm "shockingly" flops due to the $60 price.

No joke. $60 for friggin' Bulletstorm when it couldn't sell at that price years ago? It'd be a no-brainer at $20-25. $60? Hell, Bulletstorm was one of my 10 favorite games last gen and there is, literally, zero chance I buy it at that price.

I'm still baffled by all this non sense when they could have had a 5+ million seller in Borderlands 3 already.

 
Worst Purchase(s):

Batman Arkham Knight Premium for $41.99 on 3/22. I played the game for 5 minutes. I still want to go back to it but it wasn't a smart purchase since it's been so much cheaper since.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 for $9.99 on 2/16. I bought it in anticipation of BC and then they announced the remaster. I still haven't started the game yet.

Best Purchase:

I sold my Sunset Overdrive Xbox One in September because I was only watching YouTube on it and thought I might be done with gaming. I sold it on Craigslist for $175 with original box and packaging. I was happy. But I still kept an eye out for another Xbox One (I'm a habitual bargain hunter).

Around Black Friday, I found someone on CL selling a Madden Bundle Xbox One S 1TB in box for $200 and it came with Black Ops 3 and Overwatch - 2 games I wasn't interested in but would be easy to resell for a reasonable amount of cash. 1TB was exactly what I wanted and white consoles are my thing. Turns out the guy had it listed for days but everyone kept lowballing him. I didn't hesitate paying his asking price. Sold both games for $30 each for a net cost of $140.

Some of my less serious goals this year are to get at least 1 achievement a day on X1 and to finish a few of these campaign stories before I buy a new game.

I have had one a day for a shade over 1000 days now. My goal is to complete one game a month now. I don't always do that.

As someone who has done long streaks, owning a windows phone is a blessing if you have one. Miss a day? Roll your phone back a day and unlock an achievement on it. Saved me many times.

 
My only goal is to get my Scout to goddamn max class in Ge4rs. Holy shit I don't know who has the dedication to do this for ALL classes.

 
Looks like another year of wondering where the Xbox 360 deals are.

This year I'll actually make more of an effort to work on the backlog. If I'm really good, I'll beat one game a month defeating my past record of a few games a year.

If you have the Season Pass, they have a developer's playlist once a month that gives you 2x XP for your overall rank AND Horde classes. And it's all on Normal difficulty too. I ranked all my classes to at least 9 by doing that last month. I have my Engineer and Sniper at 10, I just need 3 more and I'll have Seriously 4.0

I spent $100 on that game, you're goddamn right I'm gonna get 100% of the achievements in that fucker.

It sucks that you can do this, I assume this is why the achievement streak leaderboard on TA isn't trackable.

Worst gaming purchase: Maybe a three-way tie. I bought Blood Bowl 2 at launch because it sounded awesome and I played it about 7-8 hours. It's definitely a good policy. Though I agree, getting a few free games each month with GWG makes it hard to stick to such a policy. One thing I've decided to do is try to get some momentum by tackling the quickest games to beat in my backlog, Dave Ramsey-style. I can at least rotate in some quicker games while I continue to slog away at longer stuff.

I totally give a shit. I like playing Zenyatta a lot and I swear I nearly had it once, to where I was expecting it to pop at any second. After getting some of the tougher achievements, I thought I could eventually complete the game, but stuff like the Lucio wall-riding kills or Reaper's kills without reloading achievement make me think it's not gonna happen.

Don't be afraid to leave the opening area is what I'd say. Also, don't hold yourself to doing EVERYTHING if you feel your enthusiasm dwindling. I did so many boring side quests trying to be a completionist that by the time I said "eff it" and finished up the story, I had no interest in continuing with the DLC. I will eventually, though.

I would LOVE to go all digital. Part of the problem is that even though it's not like I can't afford to pay a little extra for games, I feel like I'm letting MS off the hook if I do it right now when they're still not even trying to compete with physical prices or offer any kind of rewards system that's as good as what Prime or GCU offers. I realize they're worried about pissing off retailers by underselling them, but they could at least give us somewhere close to the same price.
