Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

[*]All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every Tuesday.
[*]ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...

Bummer dude. I took stats last semester but my university offered it online. All the exams gave you two hours to do 50 multiple choice questions. Easiest A of the semester :p
Mine's 35 questions (mostly multiple choice) with access to Minitab, so I'm hoping it's not too bad.

So I'm about to fly out to Denver and while I'm there Im gonna sign in my buddy's account to make it my home Xbox in order to enable a (one-sided) game share. When I get back to my house, do I need to do anything when I'm back on my own Xbox? Or do both stay labeled as home consoles?

First time game sharing and I don't want to come home to no games on my XB1.

The problem with that is if he goes offline he won't be able to play his games. Only you would since you would have the license. You could sign into your box with his info and make yours his home console. Then what you buy will show up for him.

So each console can only hold one "home" account. By me making his console my home Xbox, it removes his accounts label as "home Xbox". Is that correct?

I'm not sure that's right. You can have multiple accounts setting one console as their home console. Since you mentioned this is a one-sided game share arrangement, your friend's console would be the home console for his account AND for your account. He should be able to play his own digital games even if offline. He can also play your digital games if offline. The only issue is that YOU cannot play your digital games on your console offline (but that shouldn't be an issue unless you plan to be offline a lot).

(Edit: This is assuming your friend didn't set some other console as his home console.)

Does anyone here play with a 5.1 setup, and if so, have you noticed that the subwoofer doesn't work unless the audio is set to stereo in the console's audio options?

A friend of mine called me about the problem and I thought it was just his receiver doing something strange. I've been playing XB1 with headphones lately, so I haven't really noticed it. But sure enough I have the same problem. It doesn't matter if I use HDMI or optical, the only setting that sends anything to the sub is stereo. Any other option and my sub just goes into sleep mode because it hasn't been given anything to do.

I know it hasn't been like this forever, but I'm not sure when the issue started.

You have to go into your receiver settings and adjust it. Make sure your front speakers are set to "small" even if they aren't small, and there's also a setting for what frequency is picked up by the sub.

Thanks! I was asking about both accounts having the same home console thinking that would be an issue. This sounds like everything should go smooth because I never game offline so it won't be an issue.

I'm sure most of you know this, but don't play Recore. I just finished it last night and it's a game with so much potential but it's easy to see how it was rushed. Besides the obvious grind for the 45 cores needed for the end boss, there were tons of glitches. The worst two were in dungeons that kept doors from unlocking making any progress impossible. I got it for $15 on BF, but I'm an idiot and went digital so I can't trade for cash. But one less game in the backlog. Now on to some good games!

Thanks, that fixed it... sadly. Now my speakers sound like crap, but hey, I have my sub back! I may end up just doing without the sub and turning on bass boost for the large speakers I have and calling it good. So strange that it can't do both.

EDIT: Oh, that's just how receivers work, I guess. It's not an Xbox One-ism. If I set my PC to output in actual 5.1 to my receiver, it does the same thing. I usually have my PC send 2.0 to the receiver so I can use Pro Logic II for my music. but telling it 5.1 mutes the sub unless my speakers are set to small. Interesting.

fuckING BALLZ! Im sitting on 3495 bing points and i did all the searches for pc/mobile and dailies. Can someone tell how to get the 5 points per hour when using Microsoft edge? Do you need to be using a M$ product or can i use any kind of laptop to get them 5 points.

Did you check your email?  Sometimes they send email bonus points.  Found this out just recently thanks to a fellow CAG here.  But I have a Lenovo with Windows and Edge and get the Edge points there.

Hopefully they make  Wildlands into an open beta.  Still waiting to get my beta code but hope is slipping lol.  This is one of the games I plan to buy judging by how it looks on videos.  But playing it would definitely be a huge factor if I get it sooner than later.

Glad you asked about this. Been having some of the same issues. However, I can't get the Xbox to recognize anything other than the stereo uncompressed. If I choose 5.1 or 7.1 I get an error as unrecognized. I do have a 7.1 hooked to the TV via ARC HDMI. With not much time to game, I said screw it and just plug in headphones via the controller.

Fallout Shelter is coming next week to XB1! Releases 2/7. Will be free and Play Anywhere enabled.

Hmm...depending on achievements I may check it out, but most F2P games have such grindy achievements since they want to keep people playing (and paying). I played it like crazy for a couple of days when it first came out, but there just wasn't much depth to it. As silly as it sounds, some achievements may actually give me an objective to work toward and give the game a little structure for me.

Ohhh big picture mode! Haha

I have a vault that I haven't touched in weeks because I've maxed everything out including quests. That said they claimed to have updated the game to make one of your dwellers secret agents so I might lead it up to check that out.

They added a shit ton of content since launch including crafting, adventuring and weekly Fallout trivia quests.

Load up a long Youtube video on Microsoft Edge and just let it play. I couldn't tell you specifically the rate at which u earn them though. My family uses Edge for everything so we max that out within a few days every month.

Edit: Just saw It's 5pts an hour. Go for an hour long YouTube video.

Yes I've checked my email and nothing and I too have a lenovo with windows but not sure about edge.Is that an app where i can download for free or a program that i have to buy?I'm no tech guru when it comes to Pcs and programs.

I never played it on my iPhone. What are the in-app purchases like - just in-game currency?
The only thing I remember is the ability to buy lunchboxes with real money. The lunchboxes give rewards, weapons, pets and sometimes unique dwellers. Honestly I never felt like I HAD to buy anything but again the mechanics for an on the go play a few minutes device don't always translate well to a sit in front of the TV for a hour play session device.

Edit: You can also buy nuka-cola for real money that helps you speed crafting times and travel times. There are also pet boxes an Mr. Handy robots for sale.

All of this can be had with patience though.

Edge is the new web browser in Windows 10, superceding Internet Explorer. It's also the browser on XB1, so you might be able to do it there.

If anyone has a code for Wildlands I would VERY much appreciate it. It's for a good friend who literally has been telling me he had dreams of getting a code lol

Yeah, I'm not sure how I feel about Fallout Shelter on the console. Also, I remembered on mobile, there was a lot of waiting. I would gather my resources, then go do something else (eat, check email, watch youtube, etc.), check on the game for the resources that were ready to be grabbed again...repeat. Got boring real quick. And that sounds even more boring on the consoles if they're expecting us to just sit there and wait while nothing happens. It's not like you could play a game of Gears then instantly switch back to Shelter and then instantly back to Gears...

your sub or receiver may have an additional setting called "cut-off frequency" or similar. this tells your sub what frequency it functions at. the higher the frequency you set, the more you'll hear the sub. it basically controls the balance of frequencies between your speakers and sub. the small/big speaker setting is a simplified way of doing the same thing.

you can set your speakers to big and then set the low frequency for the sub yourself.

This might be as real as the Bowling Green Massacre. (I cannot confirm via any other source.)

I actually just noticed this, thanks. It's only available with the small speaker setting so I guess I didn't notice it. I'll mess around with the settings a bit.

That figures, I just beat that on my 360. I could have waited a bit so I could spam my community feed with recorded video clips.

Seriously though, such a great game. I think I actually enjoyed it more than Black Flag.
