Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

[*]All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every Tuesday.
[*]ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...

I want Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 to be backwards compatible for Xbox One. I still played it on occasion on my 360. Just had to drop my 360 out of HD to do so. I somehow doubt that it would be made available though. I'm sure there would be licensing issues with the music. Still my favorite THPS game.
This is actually my #1 BC pick too and I thought I was strange for wanting it.

You're probably SOL on Tony Hawk. Even if he somehow managed to get the rights to the old games when their license expired, I'd expect the music licensing would be a nightmare. Maybe not though, since Skate 3 made it.

Activision hasn't really had a whole lot of BC either.

Would also love to see The Suffering and it's sequel Ties that Bind, also Advent Rising come to OGBC

Why did I think getting lawn seats to a concert in Charlotte in June was a good idea? Thunderstorms look to be in my future to pair with Muse/30 Seconds to Mars/Missio tonight.

If I don't pop back up in the forum tomorrow, know I probably was struck by lightning.
I avoid the outdoors like the plague between May-September. Everything about this sounds terrible.

I didn't keep up with the series, but a friend of mine had THPS3 way back when and I got hooked on it. It's the best one, IMHO, especially in terms of level design, before they tried to hard to add a bunch of crap to it and made the games feel bloated. It was one of the first games I fired up after I got Gamecube games running on my Wii U.

I would like to see Advent Rising. I remember being incredibly hyped for that game up to release...and then never playing it.

I may be the only one here, but I would also like to see Vexx. I have no idea how or why I ended up playing it, but I enjoyed what I remember of it.

Top OG Xbox games I want to see (with achievements): KOTOR, KOTOR II, Republic Commando, Morrowind, Jade Empire, Ninja Gaiden

Missio opened for you guys?! Lucky, we had another band open up instead ): But I went last month and that concert was amazing! :D

It was probably Pvris. That was who was supposed to open but looks like it was changed at some point.

Missio isn't bad but I cannot stand 'Middle Fingers".

Guys...I know it probably doesn't mean anything to you, but I just figured out, that this Bing Rewards thing isn't US only anymore...So I finally can get points to, to trade them against credit/memberships... I know I've tried that in the past and every time it said it's for US only...but finally I'm able to take part in this. Although it's called Microsoft Rewards now? (not to confuse with the Xbox Live Rewards) aaanyway any tips to gather as much points as fast as possible aside from using bing? =P

Since we are all hot on OG Xbox right now, remember these are the OG games that you can play on 360.

I would think if it is not on this "playable on 360" list, it will probably not be playable on XB1. Just a hunch, nothing more.

http://support.xbox.com/en-US/legacy-devices/original-console/play-original-games
Though I can't remember if it was good or bad, I sure as hell would like to play Call of Duty 2: Big Red One once again. How much that it'll go BC before MW2 and MW3?

I can see GWG adding 2 original Xbox games a month. Maybe the price will go up?
I Doubt the addition of 2 GWG. They're trying to sell game passes and I think easier to get people to jump on game pass or buy digitally with this considering support is long gone on that console. Plus I believe one of the reasons for 360 BC was to get people still playing that console to more easily transition into getting a One.

I really hope they can find a way to reopen the original XBL servers for OG Xbox games.

Otherwise I really don't see a point in bringing many OG Xbox games to the One.

Given the limited titles available due to licensing, they might exhaust their supply with 2 per month. Adding 1 GWG per month sounds good, though. I bet they give Crimson Skies away when the program officially launches. I'm still really impressed they got system link working between an X1 and the OG system, which may be the best reason to get games running even if they don't get full online working.

Go to the Rewards dashboard daily for links to click for 10 points and 1-3 30-50 quizzes per week. If you have Windows 10, using the Edge browser has an extra 10 point link per day, plus an occasional quiz per week. Also, if you go to the PC search it should open to a news search. You can open various headline pages in separate tabs, and then Edge will automatically reload those tabs every so often, which counts as searches toward your daily total. Sometimes the tabs get stuck, though, so check on them every now and again.

If you don't have an iPhone or Android phone for the mobile searches, use an extension to change your browser's user agent string to a mobile one. You might want to do this in a dedicated browser, and possibly a separate machine, so they can't use cookies and / or IP addresses to see you're using the same device to do both PC and mobile searches. I use a number of VMs at work, and one of them has Chrome identifying itself as "Chrome on Android Mobile" for my mobile searches. I just click the "Mobile search" link on the dashboard, which goes to a "popular on Bing" search and open each link there in a different tab.

People are dumb. I doubt they even add one on a monthly schedule. Now they may once in awhile include a free OG game with games with gold in specific months like say June (E3), November (Black Friday), or December (Christmas) as a bonus.

Thanks Bloomy that does sound very helpful. =)
Someone mentioned you can also get the Xbox Game Pass as reward, that doesn't seem to be the case over here...but I'm oky with credits and memberships anyway. Only wish this was implemented years ago when the 360 was still the console of choice...and MSP were a thing...but back then europe wasn't allowed =P lol

Sadly I don't think we'll get that many OG BC titles. Phil Spencer himself said in a Gamespot interview that the BC selection will be smaller than it was on 360. They'll have the rights to the same publishers/developers as they did back then, but some of them don't exist now. I think he's mostly targeting first-party titles, and there just weren't enough of those to give out free every single month.

I see lots of talk about the OG Xbox games and I haven't seen anybody mention Fuzion Frenzy. That was one of my favorite games for multiplayer on the original Xbox, but when they did emulate it on 360 it played like shit.

I also wouldn't mind seeing Fatal Frame and Indigo Prophecy as well.

There is no date for Thumper yet. They were vague and said "Spring" - but the recent ratings signify it will should be within a month.
I misstook that "release date" on the PEGI site to mean that it was releasing today. Come to find that's just when it was rated. Oh well, at least it's coming.

This comment is dumb. There are plenty of single player titles out there, Pickles. Like these five, for example:

510VRWC92AL._AC_UL115_.jpg
615VJ2TVEGL._AC_UL115_.jpg
51NS1CTD2EL._AC_UL115_.jpg
41WXNBM5WJL._AC_UL115_.jpg
616Q776RNEL._AC_UL115_.jpg

Honestly if they even hit 100 OG Xbox games that's plenty to cover everything worthwhile. I just hope emulation issues aren't a big concern. Both KoTOR games run like absolute shit on 360, to the point that I would say 2 is unplayable and 1 is right on the edge. They never fixed the weird ghosting in Halo 2 either.

Looks like 'ol Phil isn't too happy about Sony's damage control. Rightfully calls them out on their bullshit.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/news/news-27343-Xbox-Boss-Phil-Spencer-Responds-to-Sony-s-Decision-to-Block-Cross-Play.html
I will say that he is way more, political, about the statement that I would've been. I'm pretty sure in his position I would've been " fuck Sony. It's bullshit, you know it's bullshit, they know it's bullshit. Next question." Of course I wouldn't last long in his position as I would make statements like that and get future endeavored.

The OG Xbox games that I really want but don't expect to get due to licensing would be:

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 - Marvel is always a nightmare.

Def Jam Fight for New York - Music and likenesses

Buffy Games - Not sure the studios are around that even made these.

Star Wars Games - These are always a nightmare

Star Trek: Shattered Universe - Paramount/CBS has no idea what they are doing.

Futurama/Family Guy - Fox is a bunch of assholes

NFL Street Games - Likenesses, and old rosters doubt its worth it

I would also love Steel Battalion but the requirement of controller adapter kills that. Also I believe that didn't sell well.

Looking back through OG Xbox backlog...Dead To Rights! They need to make a new game in this series!

Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
The one that came out on 360 in 2010 was good. Hopefully the original games and the 360 one becomes BC.

Same for the Chronicles of Riddick game, pretty sure it was remade for 360.

Second BC og Xbox game announced for X1 is Fusion Frenzy. Also, you'll be able to pop in the disc and download the game, just like 360 BC works

Sorry if old news. Haven't checked the thread since last week

No way, the main reason MCC broke was that they were basically mashing together 4 or 5 different networking solutions without the proper time or effort to make them play nice with each other.

I think the amount of money/time/effort it would take to simply fix MCC is way more than they feel is worth it, let alone doing a Scorpio upgrade. A PC port seems a bit more feasible as they would in theory make money for sales, but I get the impression they have no idea how to truly fix the game up to 100%.
Which is probably true, but it's still inexcusable.

At least make it an free release for any XB1 owner, but that's probably asking too much.

Some of those games are BC on the 360, so I'm hoping that those ones happen. Do they need to worry about licensing if they aren't actually selling it any longer?

I got stupid and grabbed Shenmue 2 and BLACK before I caught myself and decided I should wait to see what games are actually announce, and also be trying to find these games much cheaper at yard sales. Also left Super Monkey Ball deluxe off my list of wants earlier too

Are you implying that Muse (the headliner) is suffering? May you, sir, be struck by lightning. Muse is awesome.

Edit: On second read, think you were just dissing 30 Seconds. I like them too so fuck you. ;)
I like Muse, but 30StM sucks. Sorry. ;)

I Can imagine Morrowind playing terribly after Skyrim.

Though I would like to see how well Breakdown plays over a decade later.
Morrowind was awful going back to after Oblivion.

The only game I really want for BC is Urban Chaos Riot Response. Best. Game. Ever. (for the OG Xbox)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_viQN5JEcck

It's cheesy/campiness is off the charts, and it's just a fun game to play too.
