Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

[*]All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every Tuesday.
[*]ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...

I really hope Shadows of Mordor Game of the Year Edition gets discounted to $3.99 on Xbox, but sometimes playstation gets special sales that never are as deep on Xbox for whatever reason
Also got a 4k update for PS4 Pro so would like to see that for the X.

Great BC additions! We are only AC Liberations HD I believe from the AC lineup, and Black Flag but Black Flag has a X1 version already.

GWG is horrible outside of Runbow. Oh well. 4 games I don't own so I'll try them all at least.

Lego Pirates isn't the most exciting news, but it's at a fantastic time. The fifth movie just came out (and was awesome) so June was my Pirates month. I marathoned the first 4 movies before going and seeing the 5th. I followed that up by playing At Worlds End on the 360. Pretty dated game tbh but I put on my 07 glasses and the game was ok. Now Microsoft is hooking it up with Lego. That's the only game I'm hyped about next month though so I agree with the overall disappointment.

5 games! They will even let all you BC deniers download them. Now repent and cleanse yourselves, the rise of BC is upon us.

Happy to see AC Brotherhood, think it will be August GWG?
I'm not even an AC fan but I continue to like this trend of making BC games which also have remasters, even if its 6 months later. It's oddly consumer friendly for an industry that loves to try and get you to re-buy things you already own.

Anyone ever been to Hash House A-Go-Go?
Yes, the one on I Drive, even.

As for Hash House, I'm surprised at the praise, maybe it's because I'm local to it but every time I eat there I feel like it's a huge quantity but not the best quality. Maybe I'm not ordering correctly, I've never had the chicken and waffles yet.
This. I remember it being pricey, but you get a lot of food. Taste-wise, nothing that said we needed to go back when there are so many other food options in the area. Probably didn't help that we ended up in a cramped corner table and service was slow, but that was a few years ago.

Better than the Whistle Junction/Ryan's that used to be there, at least.

Are you Michael Bolton by any chance? I haven't seen this level of enthusiasm for the Pirates franchise since his skit on SNL.

cool, cheap games that are on sale all the time as gwg

I noticed Modern Warfare Remastered standalone had a page up (probably always has been there), when you visit the page (link) on desktop, the preorder button pops up for a split second and disappears. It's out now on the PlayStation store for $39.99 (link here).

Geezus, just had 2 of the best/biggest sales the platform has ever seen and people are still bitching and complaining. Welcome to the internet I guess!

Been awhile since I thought about that particular video. I respect a washed-up type who doesn't mind being in on the joke / can laugh at himself.

Rick Astley put out a new record recently and the first single was actually pretty good, as far as pop music goes. He's learned to laugh at himself too, thankfully.

Don't forget the fact there are still people who don't consider indie games real games.

TBH 6+ years ago I never considered them real games either. Rocket League, Ori, Brothers and Rogue Legacy and the like have changed my mind big time over the last few years. A lot of indie games are better then your standard AAA game.

Especially since publishers largely determine when and how much something goes on sale. I've always assumed MS has contracts with publishers for digital content, either for MS' cut or duration of time before big sales or some combination of both, which prevent publishers from having sale prices as low as they are on PSN.

Yeah I've been pleased with MS sales overall so I'm not saying they've been terrible, but that PSN sale is on another level.

Great find, this is an excellent Diablo style game. Oddly, there are none in the NVA area, and the Walmart site lists the price as $35.53, with ship-to-store by July 3. How many copies did you see? PS4 version?

^ Victor Vran is really fun so far. Just a heads up, the developers fucked up the extra content for the disc release. The only thing on the disc is the base game. When you put the disc in, you will actually see an Xbox code to redeem the Fractured Worlds and Motorhead DLC.

Redemption worked fine for me. No idea how this will affect used game purchases, though. Just be weary if you buy it on eBay or GStop.

I found my copy in a $20 bin in front of the electronics section. It was the only copy in the store. :( I tried to find others but they didn't have any in their system.

I noticed this at the main menu as well. I wonder if the dlc redemption codes are the same!?

Edit: FYI Gamestop won't buy this game or sell it. I don't know why, but it isn't in their system at all.

Are the LEGO games pretty much all the same just with different skins? I've played the Star Wars LEGO game, and wasn't a big fan of it. Was just curious if there's one that is supposedly better than the others.

Odd, the PS4 version seems to be fine. I installed the disc version and have access to the two expansions without a code, and the game icon on the PS4 console specifically states "Overkill Edition". I did buy an XB1 disc version too, but don't plan to open it yet.

Got my Super Nintendo Classic from the UK preordered and preparing for OG XBox backwards compatibility and have an existential crisis as to why I even bother buying new games a year within release.

I thought Lego Batman 2, Indiana Jones and Marvel Super Heroes were enjoyable. Lego Batman 3 was a little too much but I might have been burned out from the other lego games. I have the Harry Potters but haven't gotten around to playing them.

Nintendo can put together a pretty solid list from just first party stuff :

1080 Snowboarding
Diddy Kong Racing
Donkey Kong 64
Dr. Mario 64
Excitebike 64
F-Zero X
Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards
Mario Golf
Mario Kart 64
Mario Party 1 / 2 / 3
Mario Tennis
Paper Mario
Pilotwing 64
Pokemon Puzzle League
Pokemon Snap
Sin and Punishment
Star Fox 64
Super Mario 64
Super Smash Bros
Wave Race 64
Yoshi's Story
Zelda : Ocarina of Time + Master Quest
Zelda : Majora's Mask

Everything there was published by Nintendo, though not all developed by Nintendo (the Rare DK games, Sin and Punishment), in case that could tie some things up. A Japanese release could include the original Animal Crossing game, but it's doubtful they'd put the time in to localize it for other markets.

Don't know how well including a Pokemon Stadium would work, unless they could actually have it interact with the 3DS Virtual Console releases of the old Gameboy games.

Konami had a couple Castlevania games (though IIRC one was a rehash of the other with an extra playable character) and Capcom had a Mega Man. None are considered among the best of their franchises, but I enjoyed the first Castlevania well enough. RE2 might be a bit much for a system like that, ratings wise, not tech wise. Same for Turok (wherever those Acclaim properties now reside). Rayman 2 from Ubisoft, there's a Harvest Moon on the system. Pie in the sky, maybe Disney would allow some Star Wars, particularly Shadows of the Empire and Rogue Squadron.
Developers wouldn't be an issue on the old games as Nintendo still has full rights to them. Rare actually owned their own IP, but not DK64. Goldeneye is bascially Activision's at this point, though the Bond license holder has a say as well. Cooperation isn't impossible though. The Rare made 360 remaster was approved by all parties (Microsoft, Nintendo, Activision, and Bond) but Nintendo of Japan said no toward the end of development and the project had to be killed. At this point I could see MS giving the thumbs up on Rare's stuff like Banjo and Perfect Dark, though a low percent chance of doing so.

I don't think Pokemon Stadium would be included as getting some functionallity with any version of gen 1 or 2 would just drive up the cost unless they allowed old transfer packs and cartridges to work, but then very few people would actually be able to take advantage. I'd say Pokemon Snap is the only likely game from the series.

I'm not sure that Mature ratings would kill any games chances, Castlevania was been on both Classics so far but the N64 games are particularly well regarded, nor is the port of Megaman Legends that Megaman 64 actually is. I just don't know if Nintendo would care to have RE2 on this, maybe Capcom would push for it because of the upcoming remake, but it seems like a stretch. As good as the port is, it is basically considered a PS1 game in general.

They have gotten better and better as time goes on, I have 100% on Lego Pirates, Indiana Jones, Batman, Batman 3, Marvel, Jurassic World, etc. The gameplay is pretty much the same but they add different things to each one depending on the universe it's in. I really liked pirates but I also played it the year it came out and the new ones have changed a lot since then...

FH3 VIP pass is $5 this week. I'm considering it since I picked up the expansion pass last week and my son and I are enjoying it despite having to pass the controller back and forth (I'd be happy to take reduced resolution and no rewind for split screen, but it seems they decided couch co-OP isn't a concern). I also didn't love having to watch hype cut scenes with dialog and mandatory races to eventually get to use Hot Wheels, but I guess most people really appreciate the story in FH3 --ha!

Anyone really love be VIP pass?
Looked it up and it sounds like people only really recommend it if you plan on playing for a lot of hours. The 5 cars are whatever, I don't know cars enough for them to mean anything to me. You get double wheelspins which apparently leads to you having a lot more credits and making it much faster to unlock cars.

I got it for FH2 (bought the DLC pack thing a few months ago). It certainly helped with credits. Between that and the rewards site I have been click on every week since Decemeber I was able to buy whatever car I wanted whatever.

But since I have gotten into the 300s level wise on FH3 I just don't pay much attention to the CR. I have a lot of cars and a decent amount of CR.

If I was just starting out and wanted to build up my CR faster I think the $5 is probably worth it. If you are already pretty far along probably pass. I am gonna pass.

Yeah I noticed this last night when I mistakenly selected the VIP Rivals event. Saying that, you also get into the VIP Rivals event.

Confirmed.
Well shit. It looks like more games to download and forget about lol.

Sadly, the golden days of BC have come and gone. There will be more for sure and even some big titles here and there, but the glory days have passed and we were there. That's right we cheap few witnessed the dawn of BC and relished its impact on our backlogs......what a time to be alive.
Seriously, we're in the time of BC on the 3rd gen Xbox as you'll be able to play BC titles all the way back from the OG Xbox soon - aside from the stellar 360 catalog too.

Haha, yeah I might actually play AC: Brotherhood now since it's super tempting to play on my Xbox One instead of the Xbox 360, plus added bonus of playing with a headset since that's my audio setup with the XB1 compared to the 360 (which had a old setup that doesn't work with my TV now).

Microsoft Expertzone has refilled their stock. You need to work somewhere that sells MS products to access them.
http://expertzone.microsoft.com/Rewards/Browse/Category/1016

$15 - Halo Wars 2 Ultimate Edition

$10 - Forza Horizon 3, Rainbow Six Seige, Dead Rising 4, Halo Wars 2, Gears 4, Rise of the Tomb Raider

I want to buy Halo Wars 2 Ultimate but since the new expansion isn't included I don't even want to touch that season pass. I guess it's still worth it if you are more interested in multiplayer or want Halo Wars 1 Definitive. As is I'm just going to buy the campaign missions separately.
I was happy and surprised that the company I work for was on the list. I was verified and earned a good amount of points. Then I couldn't figure out how to get to the Rewards section. I looked into it and it turns out that the company I work for doesn't participate in the program anymore.

Those are good indie games, but besides Rogue Legacy I don't remember seeing them in the ID sale. Let's be quite honest it was about 80% garbage. Love MS, love my XBOX but I don't think I'll ever be jumping out of my seat to give the Sales and Specials department a pat on the back. They are no where near as slick and nimble as Steam or even the PS4 sales for that matter.

Just saw the GWG lineup and I'm not too impressed. I already have Lego Pirates on PS3 so I'll consider getting it on Xbox 360 a win.

And why wait for July when you can get free Kane and Lynch right now:

Eagle for Killer Instinct is set to go live today as well at 9:00am PST along with its accompanying patch.

In case someone's wondering, Eagle will be free for those who own the Definitive Edition or the Season 3 Ultra Edition. HOWEVER, Iron Galaxy informed yesterday that might not show up as free upon release and could take hours or even days for it to be so.

Otherwise, you can also pay $5 for it. I've been supporting the game since launch so I'll gladly pay for it.
I believe he is the free rotating character to avoid confusion until he is free to the right owners
