Weiler just likes to complain.  KF2 support is awesome.  Hell, I pick up the double barrel as an off-perk weapon with some perks during the boss fights because it's so amazing at clearing trash or burst damage on the boss when he gets close.

T1 weapons for every perk are pretty trash which is why they're the T1 weapons.  But the T2 weapon (boomstick) is good through the rest of the game unlike a lot of T2s which are trash and you're stuck waiting to afford your T3 (Medic, Berserker, SWAT, Firebug)

"Worst perk ever" is objectively the Survivalist who does nothing as well as the other perks and you never really need someone who does shit half as well when you could just switch to the perk your squad actually needs filled, even mid-game.  If everyone had to pick their perk blind then maybe there'd be a need for a generalist but that's not how KF2 works.  Not that no one should ever play Survivalist for fun but there's always a better choice.

double barrell does great damage but having to be in the face of a zed to not suck goes to my point that you basically have to invite death to be effective. You get swamed and you are fuck ed. short of the AA12 you are not going to hip fire your way out of it with a double barrell.

Georgebot and myself embarrassed ourselves last night trying to weekly. We could not finish wave 1 in 3 attempts. We only had a lv 12 commando and a 14 firebug though. We just went back to normal and never could kill the damn patriarch.

I still like my shotguns, I think its my favorite kind of weapon so I use them if available.

Also the support is good at cleaning trash zeds because of the penetration of the shotgun, but yeah, the basic shotgun is kind of lackluster but still fun nonetheless.
Im a shotgun guy in most games too. Im not good enough to aim with rifles and such. Sniping is a no no. Unfortunately most shottys in games blow ass. Battlefield is the only series to give it real love. The DAO in bad company 2 was butter. BF3/4 had some good shottys. BF1 before they nerfed grenades was awesome to do the shotgun/gas grenade combo.

Ended up buying Cuphead as theres a gift seller on ST that has it for $15. Turned that $10 Amazon promo into $8 PP (bought something for someone with it) so $7 out of pocket was a worthwhile grab for me.

For the first time in about 5 years I'm skipping FIFA, at least on initial launch. I've been playing the trial and the game is good, but my focus is Manager Mode and they still haven't made enough changes for me to justify it. The biggest addition to the mode is that buying/selling players negotiation wise is done graphically, but  they basically just animated the process. It gets old after your first couple of transactions. Gameplay is solid, but the minor tweaks rather than significant enhancements (i.e. the move to Frostbite last year) on and off the pitch made it an easy decision to wait on it. I'd have gotten it if the Origin VPN thing still worked or if I could've found it for $30 - $40, but that wasn't happening. I'll pick it up around the January transfer window when it sees a significant sale.

Sports gaming fix will have to wait. 2K18 is disgusting and I wont support it outside of Humble and FIFA babystepped. Maybe PES will satiate it.

Salt is on sale for $4.94.

First time it's been discounted over 50%. Still in early access, but it looks like the dev pushes out regular updates and multiplayer is supposedly coming soon.
Destined for Humble Monthly? Oct Monthly? Have a sale now and suck some suckers in now with the sucking sale sound and then release it in October Monthly...Oh how I would laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh.....and laugh!

Based on the jokes you've been repeating for the last couple years, it doesn't take a whole lot to make you laugh.

I got it for $5 from Chrono back in July I think? still haven't played it though, but if it gets MP maybe we can bronight it.
Is it likely to do so? I probably get it then, but otherwise I would wait for it to be bundled. These days I can pretty much wait as long as necessary for a SP only Steam game to be bundled.

Some quick thoughts on Forza Motorsports 7

Its damn nice to have a proper Forza game on the PC.  I will play, and love it, no doubt about it but MS/Turn 10 has done allot of changes that seem designed to prolong the grind and I suspect, in time, will be avoidable with cold hard cash.

Loot boxes, currently only available via in game credits (cash).  Love them or hate them they are here.  (With it being credits only I don't think they are horrible... but I fear for the future.

Campaign.  No story, so thats good, and you do have some options but with the way its setup you will spend time in cars you might not like if all you want to do is drive super, exotic, or hypercars.  (You do have to replay the demo but its one lap races instead of 2 lap races.)

Credits, extremely, extremely limited.  VIP has been gutted, one of the reason why I think the loot boxes will be purchasable with real cash, and its one of the most useless things in gaming now.  Instead of some extra cash after each races VIP lets you do it for 25 races max.  (and if you use it early your really hurting yourself in the long run.  The best part is this consumable isn't advertised and simply stats 100% extra cash.)

Assists, turning them off now doesn't help one get extra credits either...  You can run with every assist on and get the same cash as someone with them all off.  (I wouldn't mind this so much, I can understand fairness and whatnot, if I didn't feel like they weren't credit starving people on purpose.)

Stuttering, that Apex stuttering I had after playing for an hour is back...  I don't mind it so much since a simple reboot fixes it but its an annoyance worth mentioning...  Also worth mentioning that it should be fixed soon.

Upgrades, the way they do the championships right now, as in early in the campaign, is its not an option.  The rules for each championship are so strict that I've not seen one possible upgrade to install.

It races great and looks great.

I hope they that a serious look at the VIP program but I'm still more happy than angry...  I likely wouldn't be so forgiving if I didn't get the Ultimate Edition for 80 instead of 100.

I didn't really plan on doing an update on Forza 7 anytime soon but I sort of feel obligated to do so...  First, I've gotten over my initial disappointment and I'm really enjoying myself with the game but what I want to update is the performance.

When I got off this morning, and posted my thoughts, I had a new driver from NVIDIA and installed it (dated 20 Sept), I didn't really expect any changes so I didn't just to be current... but its made a huge difference.  I've played many hours straight with no frame stuttering and even did an endurance race which was an hour by itself.  (23 laps around Spa...  A little over a 100 Miles.)

No issues. :)

The full game runs loads better than the demo did for me albeit not perfect. I played for a solid 5 hours yesterday and the grind for cash is out of control and they need to up payouts greatly. VIP is trash like you mentioned in a previous post and them loot crates are more annoying than anything. The game plays great but some of these systems in place are junky and have a f2p feel to them.

So we played CoD:WWII last night and it was... more Call of Duty?  It was a little hard to have fun because we were facing off against a bunch of people who were already level 15+ and knew the maps and modes.  If you account for that, it was okay.  Looked nice and played fine on my computer.  The maps we played on were very small and the games were all 6v6 -- no sprawling epic battles or anything.  I couldn't enjoy the light machine gun, a weapon which was sluggish to lift when you came across someone but the small maps meant you couldn't plant yourself someplace and hold a position since someone would just come across the side/back of you within five seconds.  It wasn't a bad game and might even be a good Call of Duty game but no one walked away feeling like they wanted to buy it or were excited for it.

On the political correctness front, there were zero swastikas to be seen while fighting the German forces, even when fighting in their towns.  Also, you could (bizarrely) be a black woman fighting as a machine gunner for the Nazis.  Was good for a chuckle.

I had horrible lag last night while playing COD, whas I the only one? But anyways, the good old shotgun shot to the face allowed me to kill some enemies so the game didn't suck.

It was kinda hilarious the 0 coordination we had when trying to build the bridge and also it was really unfair that someone in the other team would just spam his LMG and clear the bridge without the need to actually see where I was.

They keep saying they are going to have the best (as in meaningful in a Saving Private Ryan) campaign and nothing to offend anyone in the MP... where one can be anything they want to be.

Maybe they can pull it off... but I sort of doubt it. I cannot name one Sledgehammer game that felt meaningful in an emotional level... Hopefully the campaign is amazing. We are at that point in time when those who where their are dying off quickly and with them their first hand accounts, and while they've penned books, sat through interviews, etc. I cannot help but hope that the most interactive of media can do their struggles justice.

(In case anyone is curious, the VA estimates about a half a million were living in 2016 and about 312 die a day... 4 of the approx 450 recipients of the Medal of Honor in WWII are alive today.)

Just to be clear, I don't actually care that you can be a race/gender combo -- I just found it amusing, especially when fighting for the Nazi forces. Don't want to be confused with the people who internet rage that there's a woman or minority in their game so it's so unrealistic (but you could have a laser-shooting monkey and it's cool).

u seem to forget the genre and the setting that dictate who will appear in your game. Laser shooting monkey in a supposedly historical setting is laughable at best

Inappropriate placement of minority/woman just to placate the ignorants is doing a dis-service to those minority/woman

As crazy as it sounds, there are probably some black women out there that actually thing "Finally! I can live my dream of being in the Nazi German Army!"

I think they may not be using dedicated servers, and thats where the lag comes in. I didnt experience it too much, maybe i was close enough to the match hosts, but I had friends who during some matches had lag that was completely unplayable. We also had groups of people doing 'lag hacks' or whatever they are called because at the start of a match their connections were fine, then an entire group dropped into the red to force everyone else to lag. Once the match ended they went back up to normal.

So more non-dedicated server BS

That makes sense, because there were some matches that were alright but others that it was a lag fest with jumps everywhere, I had forgotten that COD usually doesn't do dedicated servers.

So I noticed Pinball FX3 launched on steam, but I looked at the reviews and a lot of them mentioned that not all the tables from FX2 were ported over, despite them promising that they would. Also something about them removing FX2 from the steam store, which I can't confirm since I'm not at home.

Is it time to pull out the pitchforks or am I missing something?

Leave your pitchforks in the barn, imo. Prior to launch they did say that some of the tables were not coming to FX3 due to licensing. Southpark, off the top of my head, is one of the few that is not carried over. The vast majority of them have been upgraded. Pretty cool since it was free.

FX2 is gone from the Steam store, which is sort of a bummer, but since the tables carry over from one game to the next, it sorta makes sense. All I was missing were the new Bethesda tables, but I can buy those for the new version.

They've already patched some minor performance issues.

My opinion based on playing a few tables.... I guess it looks a bit nicer. The menu is nicely done, but more (and unnecessarily) complex. There are some other nice touches like a mode that allows you to "upgrade" the tables and change the way they play.

... So basically you can't get the achievements on any of the removed packs anymore? God fucking dammit... Why didn't they just keep the FX2 tables for sale?

Not to further socio-political talk, but there is the story of Hans Massaquoi, who grew up black in Nazi Germany. His Destined to Witness book is fascinating.

there is one issue a ton of people are having, not all your tables are imported reliably. For me it seems to be every other start of pbfx3, I will go from 40 something tables unlocked to 60 something, every other restart

I'm confused about how they're handling the "imports"

Is it not possible to attach DLC on steam to multiple platforms? Cause I'd imagine that's the best.

Turn "FX3 - Star Wars Table" into DLC that attaches to FX2 and FX3

To expand on this... Steam shows I don't own a few tables but I'm not sure why. When I go into Pinball FX 2/3 I see all but the three DLC bundles I don't own. (Rogue One, Bethesda, and The Marvel Women bundle.)

Hopefully, they'll get the glitch fixed soon...

Forza News: I cannot find the link but Turn 10 has came out and said that loot boxes will be purchasable with real world money when they are happy with the in game economy... (Oh, happy days...)

I don't actually know the answer to this, but it seems likely that these are really two different things at this point. The FX3 versions look and play differently so I'm not sure that the FX2 ones would function the same way.

Well, you can go back and play them in Pinball FX2; it's still showing up in my list of games in Steam, so I don't see any reason why you couldn't do this.

I'm a little surprised no one posted about FX3 sooner than this. I checked my old FX2 list and it looks like the tables have imported reliably and completely for me, so that doesn't appear to be a consistent problem. IMO, the FX3 versions are good but honestly the upgrades can be a bit distracting when you're trying to figure out what's happening on a table and your eye is moving to the "LED" screen to read the message but you've also got balls in play and a character shooting at another one or jumping around. There is an option to play the FX3 tables as FX2 tables, but I haven't really fooled with that. The new engine looks nice and the tutorials are a nice idea but it's a little weird to have them buried in the settings menu and I still don't quite understand why I periodically get TILT messages that cause me to lose my balls and how or why I'm supposed to shake the table.

Hang on, I have a response to this but I don't want to spam the thread with socio-political talk:

So I don't have a lot of strong feelings about shooters either way, but I think that when you've gone out of your way to consistently add a "zombie" mode to your game through every iteration, you lose credibility when you argue that your goal is to attain a realistic simulation of the setting in question. Band of Brothers or Medal of Honor: Allied Assault it ain't.

CoD began to jump the shark a long time ago; namely with MW2. Sure, MW2 was great - but that's when CoD actually started to go over-the-top in actual action for me. From there, they just went hog-wild with over-the-top factor w/ either settings (i.e. see the futuristic CoD's) or the action (if MW2 was over-the-top, go look at even MW3; and then as you pointed out that Zombies mode was added in some MP's). It just got ultra-ridiculously over-the-top w/ the Titanfall-like MP when running around, bunny-hopping, double-jumping, and running along walls in Infinite Warfare's MP.
