There are 3 ways to currently get 50%/60%/70% trade boost for basic (or no PUR)/pro/elite respectively.

1) if you made an in store (no confirmation about online purchases) purchase the week before Christmas your receipt has a generic EBC code that is good for the boost.

2) if you have >= 6500 PUR rewards points you can use the points to purchase a certificate for the equivalent boost

3) Apparently if you live in the state of California you get it by default.

Also running is a B2G1 sale (also available online), but pickin's is slim as it is post holiday.

I was 1080p until Christmas on my X. I love the option to choose between supersampled 4k and the HFR modes.

Was honestly surprised by a 4k tv gift for Christmas, and now I have the agonizing decision on 4k native red or HFR.

4k wins for now.

Honestly if your super nice and say you can't seem to find your receipt 9/10 clerks would probably give you the code. They are all humans beings with feeling too. The 1/10 would be the managers. They are a roll of the dice LOL.

Not a bad idea, depends on who is working. There's a guy there who once gave me an extra $5 on a trade for no legitimate reason other than I think he does crap like that for women. I mean, I'm not complaining.

I have Witcher 3 complete on my PS4 Pro and have barely scratched the surface. I know they are planning an update for that version soon but to get everything for $20 is tempting on the X even though like some of you I have hundreds of unplayed games in my backlog and doubt I would play it right away. I rarely consider buying the same game twice so I just don't know.

So my internet is down for the first time in awhile so I decided to play some offline games. Tell Tale Guardians of the Galaxy & then Shadow of War. Weird thing no Achievements popped.
I played more than long enough of each that I should have got something.
Do you have to online now to get Achievements?

Yup. The fun part will be when you get online and a barrage of achievements will come popping up at you.

Trying to plan final purchases: does anyone have any thoughts on the Lego Ninjago game? Both on its own and as something to potentially play with a 7 year old?

Would like to know this too. My son loves Ninjago but isn't a big gamer. I'm trying to get him to play games.

Unless it’s been changed since X360 days, earned offline achievements won’t show the date earned once you get back online.

It's different on the Xbox one, once it syncs back up you get the time stamps. Although I've had the weirdest issues with Telltale games. I'll beat it and a random chapter 3 achievement won't pop. Few weeks later I'll be playing something random and it will magically pop.
 
Went through the first episode of Tales from the Borderlands this morning, and I can see why everyone praises it so much. I was skeptical but it's really funny and well-written.

 
I've got a bit of credit left and trying to decide if I should save it or pick up some "maybes" from the sale. Anyone got any opinions on Dragon ball Xenoverse (either) or candleman? Also thinking about the resident evil origins collection but think I'm going to pass on that.

Got a Gamestop GC from my cousin so I grabbed Agents of Mayhem from their site for $10 and added Atari Flashback: The Essential Companion (I grew up on my parent's Atari 2600, which they still have sans working controllers) as it was on sale and getting the game & strategy guide/book got another 10% off on that. Not bad.

Lol, yeah when I was mainly offline apparently you can get a limit to how many achievements you can earn offline as the Xbox warns you you'll overwrite your achievements if you don't upload them online! At the time I had no internet that could hook up to my Xbox One due to caps/throttled speeds and needed to download a system update. This was also the time I was heavily into Forza Horizon 3 and thus as a result there are a bunch of achievements that didn't pop once I finally got online and the game updated - super pissed about that.

Engineered a way by going to my local library, wifi hotspot, and sitting in my car, which had my Xbox One, ext hard drive, composite to HDMI converter box hooked up to the nav/entertainment screen. All of this was set up via a power strip that was plugged into the car's outlet lol. Now I'm hooked up via my phone with semi-unlimited/throttled internet somewhat thankfully.

I don't know if I'll get this D12 challenge done. Yesterday I spent most of my time grabbing a tarp, putting up said tarp - to cover up said car -, having to come back inside multiple times because my hands were blue (couldn't manage to put the bungee around with gloves on so had to take off gloves) and have been watching a few bowl games as well. It might have been easier if I didn't have that one S Ranking achievement in Sonic Generations pop and moved me up the % ladder more than I wanted. Contemplating Darksiders' Voidwalker achievement (boy once I got into an area that angels starting fighting everyone the difficulty ramps up) or Keyes from Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary (believe I have a save close to that according to the achievements I unlocked).

XBOX won me over doing a few things:

- releasing a console that can actually play 4K

- Backward compatibility. So awesome. Picked up Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition for 360 (which surprisingly held its value well); plan on playing Mass Effect again, too.

- They're cool with mods.

I like the direction they took things.

 
I'm thinking of finally listing my 360 on my local Facebook marketplace. I probably should have done it before Christmas, but I didn't really think about it too hard at the time. I'm wanting to use the money I get from selling it to put toward an X1. I probably won't swing for anything fancy like an X1X, but I'll take an original or an S if it's in my price range (whatever that may be)

I know I asked you all before what would be a fair price but it's been awhile, and I traded in some games to Amazon awhile back so I have fewer now.

What I have is:

360 Slim console with a 120gb (?) hard drive

2 wireless controllers, 1 of which is the limited edition Tomb Raider controller I won from that Gimme 5 promotion a couple years ago

11 physical games. Most of which are RPGs like Skyrim, Oblivion, Mass Effect, Blue Dragon, Fallout NV, Final Fantasy 13, Dragon Age Origins. I figure when/if I want to replay some of these, they'll be cheap enough to get a new copy either physically or digitally.

Turtle Beach XL1 headset that still works perfect, just need to clean it up a bit

Still have the original cables, but if it would help sell better I suppose I could throw in the HDMI cable too, though I could probably use it for something else.

Anyone got any input on how a bundle like this should be priced? Also what steps do I need to take to prepare it for sale besides resetting it to factory default?

$75-90 for everything.

 
Just got my Xmas present delivered to me and bought by me and now I'm transferring my 2tb external to my new 5tb external.I feel this will take till morning and I'm using the 2tb for the ps4 that way neither console is neglected and each have a beefy backlog.
 
Mega man legacy collection is always on sale when I'm not ready to buy. It was $6 last week, and now that I want to play it, it's either full price or out of stock everywhere. For the first time since joining cag I'm actually considering buying a game at non discounted pricing just so I can play it NYE
 
Regarding Xbox Live Rewards MyMissions - I'm ~$5 away from the the Movie Marathon mission and I made a purchase yesterday but it usually takes 2-3 days to post to rewards (sometimes longer). In everyone's experience, does the purchase just need to be made in the promotional timeframe or credit actually posted before the promotion expires in order to get credit? I really dislike how opaque Xbox Rewards is...

For about a 3 week period, summer 2010, all I did was play Blur anytime I had free time. (Then in July, my wife and I had twins and snip, snap, that was the end of that!)

I would *love* to see a new Blur. Mario Kart, Crash Team Racing and Sonic Transformed are all good games in their own rights, but they all fall to Blur IMO!

Listing for $150 and selling for that much are two different things. 360 is so long ago that I wouldn't buy that stuff for anything over $50.

Yeah it's even tougher with the 360 cause of the whole Xbox one backwards compatibility thing. In my case to not have the clutter if another system I would rather repay for the digital license.

Agreed. Seeing as how a new XB1 can be purchased through tonight at most Targets for $140 with minimal effort makes this even more the case.

Yep Blur is the last 360 disc I’m holding onto in hopes of backwards compatibility. Such a great game.

Good question. Will attempt to clarify.

Had a 1080p tv. Obviously my max resolution displayed to my eyeballs was 1080p, even on 1X. All games on 1X that are enhanced for 1X will be downsampled (“supersampled”) to 1080p so my TV could show it.

So, take Rise of the Tomb Raider. It has a Native 4k mode, and High Framerate (HFR) mode, and a Enchanced Mode, which is kind of in between.

When I was on my 1080p TV, it didn’t really matter which I chose, I was never going to see full 4k. So I chose HFR, because why not.

Well, now that I have a 4k TV, it turns out that full Native 4k resolution makes a huge difference, and so I am now playing Tomb Raider on that mode, but in 30 FPS not 60 FPS.

Basically, the choice to do HFR was a non-issue when I was 1080p tv on my 1X.

Not all games will have all these options. Some of them are enhanced, but at Native 4k 30 or 60 FPS. Or some unlocked FPS. Forza 7 is 4k/60 locked and you get the best of all worlds.
