We need the best open world racing game on this generation of consoles and I'm not talking about BC versions where I've done everything in the game in both versions, as I'd like to have more of that. I'm tired of the supposed clones (Forza Horizon and the various Need for Speeds since Most Wanted) failing to live up to the master.

 
Burnout Takedown or Burnout Revenge would have been better choices. Forza Horizon 3 is my choice for racer this gen but I miss those old Burnout games. Pure arcade fun.

Witcher 3 Complete has been on sale for $20 each of the last 3 months.  Should hit that again, or perhaps lower, before I'd get it out of the backlog, and perhaps an X.

If BioShock was $15 ... Why can't the Borderlands Pre-Sequel hit $5 like the prior installments.

Should probably finish Bulletstorm on the 360 before considering the remaster.

Pac-Man / Dig Dug / Galaga bundle ... why not?

2 hours left so I guess I should make my purchases, huh?  

Just getting Minecraft Story mode Season 2 for xbone.  Got the 360 disc at Target on clearance for $15 for the kids for Christmas, but this is cheaper and should run better and shouldn't be a clusterfuck using the disc like the issues I had with season 1.  I'll have to dig up the receipt and return my target copy.  

Thinking about Ori and Axiom Verge towards the Rewards special, but the backlog is big enough for me to wait for individual drops to 75% off.  

BTW, the microsoftstore's disc copy of Ride 2 is back in stock for $9.99.  Can't quite pull the trigger there either looking at reviews.

I've been tempted, there's another service called Sinemia I was considering. Had plans for multiple people and allows for one premium ticket per month.
 
Since everyone is talking kids I’ll join in.

I have been trying to play Zelda botw but my 5 year old loves it so every time I turn it on he asks for the controller. I always give it to him and he plays for a while until he gets to a tough boss. So yesterday he says daddy I need help and he handed me the switch with 1 heart left. I look in inventory and I have no food left! I ask him where it all went and he says “Link was really hungry” how can you even be mad about that!

The only thing that I bought from the Countdown Sale was Prison Architect. The Psych Ward DLC was also on sale with Gold this week, so I said what the hell and bought both. I'll wait six months for another price drop on Cuphead since that game seems to be as frustratingly difficult as my life is right now.

I picked up Batman:RtA during the sale and that was it. I just wasn’t feeling anything else and I get a little sad every time I boot up and see 100 X1 games ready to install and 65 installed and I haven’t played 95% of them...
 
I was debating Homefront and Wildlands last night but was reminding that I just bought a Switch, Mario Odyssey, Arms, Super Luckys Tale, Yooka-Laylee, Assassins Creed: Origins, NHL18, CoD WW2, Transformers, and Steamworld Dig oh and an Xbox One X. Then I was thinking, these will go on sale again. So I passed.

Yeah it’s not terrible but I definitely noticed it. Game is a blast though. I love that you earn rewards even if you lose, so you always feel like you’re progressing.

My countdown sale haul ended up being more than expected. I ended up paying a $10 save compatibility surcharge to go digital on Witcher 3 (I already have Hearts of Stone, but never got Blood and Wine), but that's okay since CD Projekt Red is a good company to support.

I still play single player games on my 360 to work on my backlog. Last game I beat was Wet, which I beat last month, and now I'm working on a Game of Thrones RPG that's actually not too bad. Gameplay takes some getting used to, but it doesn't take long.

My XB1 is basically a social gaming (Halo/Madden/FIFA/Fortnite) device.

 
No babies here by my wife did kill a few deer on her way to work today. Four of them jumped out in a pretty populated area this morning. She hit two of them.

Thankfully no one was injured. But our end of year and start of 2018 has been off to a rough start — dishwasher, dryer and garage door all broke in the past like three weeks and now this accident.

Needless to say, I’ll only be buying the cheapest of cheap deals for the foreseeable future (if any).

Two of the four weren’t hit and ran off. One was definitely toast and lying dead. The driver behind her said the other one that was hit looked like it would likely die but didn’t see the carcass anywhere.

But, no, we didn’t take the dead one for meat.

This happened to my wife the week before Thanksgiving. She was driving home from work and plowed through a deer. She was actually talking to me (Bluetooth through the car) when it happened and it was scary from my end. It sounds just like two cars smashing into each other. Had to have body work done on our Sorento. This also happened almost exactly a year ago too, except she was bringing the kids back from soccer practice later in the evening.

I maintain that if she played more video games, her reaction speed would be faster and more accurate.

Regardless, glad no-one in your family got hurt!

Wow. That would be scary to listen to. And even more scary with kids in the car. Guessing no one was hurt?

And good work playing up the value of video gaming. ;)
 
I rear ended a car a few weeks back on the way in to work, stop and go traffic on one of the highways leading into DC.  Looked away for a second and when I looked back the SUV in front of me was stopped and I hit it.  Though given the height difference, it rode up on my hood.  No damage to the SUV, but my front end was crumpled.  Couldn't open the hood, but everything worked fine.  My car was an '05 Accord with over 300k miles, so I took it as the impetus to set some things in motion.  Took out a loan from my 401(k), paid off my credit cards, used some more as a down payment on a new car ('18 Accord) and still have a decent amount left over for the down payment on a mortgage.  Final tally for the old Accord - 307,390 miles.  The people at the dealership were impressed, though a part of me wanted to go for the record held by Al Bundy's old Dodge.

 
^^ That’s impressive to get over 300,000 miles. Wonder how much longer it would have gone if it weren’t for the crash?

My '91 Integra had 275k miles on it when I decided to donate it. That thing took me all over the country and was as faithful as they come. Original engine and transmission. Timing belt snapped on the highway and I took that as my sign.

 
Here were I live, is borderline impossible to hit a deer. Hell, even spotting one is extremely rare (Pretty sure I've only seen one in my life). We're more likely to get snow than for anyone to run into a deer. Now, if we're talking about ocelots........
