Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

In addition to being on sale, Naruto Ninja Storm 4 is having free play days until the 4th for Anime Month. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Okami, One PIece Burning Blood and Attack on Titan will also have free play days. Naruto and Dragon Ball may require Gold for the free play.

https://www.xbox.com/en-US/promotions/sales/anime-month
Niiiiiiiiiice. I know Okami is only $20 but curious how much of a discount it will receive when the free play drops.

Wow. That’s surprising that they’d do 6 days each of free play on those games. Wonder how many people will be able to burn through them in that period of time.

Okami is pretty long (35+) but Attack on Titan is 10ish on HLTB. That’s easily doable.

Blanked on renting, think I'll do that with Monster Hunter this weekend.
Do it. I hated the beta and out of peer pressure from this thread I bought it. I ended up loving it. Was up till 2am last night hunting monsters and damn is it fun. Lol

I bought it on ps4 on release (quadruple dip, after ps2, wii, ps3, ps4) and still never beat it. Sucks the games i really like that i think will take forever to go on sale, end up on sale first every time. Other games I'm somewhat interested in will take forever to go on sale, or will go on sale on a week that i can't check prices fpr whatever reason. Never fails... Except the one time I change my behavior, then it will swap & game I really want but wait on will never go on sale.

I actually made positive progress on the backlog this past month.  Per Backloggery; I completed 7 games, beat 4, started 10 and acquired 10 new games.

I’ve tried to use backloggery but you have to input every game manually and individually. I feel like that would take me an ungodly amount of time that I could be using to beat a game. Unless there’s a way to import a list or spreadsheet that I don’t know about?

No school meant back log progress for me as well. Including now one of my all time favorites (and beginnings of a new series for me)

Resident evil 4 (top 3 game for me / first res game)
Halo 1 (woot for starting the franchise)
Halo 2
Undertale

Tried halo wars, but shelved it since I’m not into strategy atm.

In progress:
Overcooked
Halo 3 <just ok compared to 1/2
Evolve <pretty fun solo

Break between semesters meant tons of gaming, now I barely have the energy to make dinner after 8-12 hour days. It's the only hobby that really helps me feel re-centered, though, to take my mind off of literally anything else for an hour or two. Decided replaying Rayman Legends was a good choice since it's easy to play X number of levels and put it down, and I don't remember most of it from when I played it on Vita.

I really wish Ubisoft would make another entry in this iteration of the series, they are such wonderful games.

I would hope it’s another 2d. I’m enjoying legends as co op with my kid because we can revive each other. Anyone recommend a 3d platformer that I could use as an introduction to that type?

Removed a few games from the backlog. Not a bad month

X1
-Gems of War
-Deadlight
-NBA Playgrounds

360
-Sam & Max Save the World
-Sam & Max Beyond Time
-Tecmo Bowl Throwback

Currently working on Ride to Hell: Retribution(so bad it's good), Warframe, RAGE & Far Cry 4. Will probably give Shadow Warrior a whirl when I download it this weekend. Heard good things about that game

For X1 specifically, Yooka-Laylee and Super Lucky's Tale feel like obvious choices, although I don't know if there are any co-op options, the latter is supposed to be not too challenging. Rayman 3 HD was also GWG so you probably already have it and it may be worth considering.

Other platforms, Mario Galaxy 1/2 have a passive co-op mode where a second player can use a Wiimote to gather stars, it's silly but some people like it. The New SMB series puts players in bubbles if they die and another player can finish the level or revive them.

From what I can tell, one does not simply complete Warframe...

I am with you on that. Grinding away. Same logic could be applied to Gems of War, but I ain't gonna grind to level 500 in that game. I'm content with achieving level 250 and removing from the backlog. Now to snag the Puzzle Quest games when they go on sale again......

FYI, the Microsoft rewards double points for mobile search in the Edge app has expired. We’re back to daily limits of 150 for desktop search, 100 for mobile search and 20 bonus points for using Edge in any form.

Finished telltale Batman. It was okay, maybe in my top 5 but I still have a few more TT games to play. Liked walking dead, game of thrones and wolf among us more.

Was thinking of doing wildlands dlc or starting up far cry primal since 5 is coming and it'd get rid of a physical game. Decided to finish Disney infinity 2 so I could get rid of the toys and game.

I don't know if you mean that the game has a lot to do or if it's just really grindy, but I only started playing it a few days ago for the Free Playathon, and it's just been so repetitive! The game doesn't even need the fairly long tutorial that it has. Instead, there should be a test area so you can try out the different classes before selecting one. I'm stuck with a character I don't like because I assumed it was a simple switch later. I wanted the one that can levitate enemies and use tentacles. (Is that the same class?) The gameplay is solid enough, but I can't understand how this game is as popular as it is. It must be like Destiny, where tons of people are playing it but no one's actually having fun.

Not yet. There's gotta be some sort of back-end issue with 360 games in general since Split/Second is also not showing up as free as of yet.
There is and da Major's waiting on an update from his people.

Dose any 1 have the saw dlc for dbd ,and is it worth $8?
Really just depends on what you're looking for from it. The Survivor perks are nothing too special. The killer has one really good perk (make your choice) and isn't too bad overall, probably around mid tier. I bought it just for the variety of having another killer to play as, getting a good perk didn't hurt either. If you aren't too interested in the killer I would say just wait until the perk is available in the shrine.

The $5 cards are back though.
Wanted to pick up Rory McIlroy PGA for 5 bucks with bing points. Noticed it was stupid that the MS points come in $1.25, 3, 10... no $5. But luckily did a double take that they have seperate Xbox cards for $5.... is there a point why the bing Xbox and MS cards are separate?

No idea why they are seperate.

Codes for Stick of Truth that came with Fractured but Whole are reportedly still working.

Someone tell me Attack on Titan will be on sale? Attack on Titan 2 is coming next month so it has to go on sale, right? But then I might want A.O.T. Wings of Freedom - the unedited non-US version of Attack on Titan. I hate when they Americanize anime.

Nice! I finally completed

-Final Fantasy (PSP)

Started
-Assassin's Creed III

I don't believe there's any import ability yet, which makes adding/editing your backlog a chore. But if you have a slow day it helps to pass the time. Also helps me keep an eye on my digital library.

Not sure about a sale but I’m going to try to plow through it when it’s free to play for 6 days (Feb. 20-26). Apparently only around 10 hours so it’s doable.

I'm gonna try that too. Didn't really think about it until after I posted. I was so disappointed when I didn't get a $16 copy from Best Buy. Then I was more dissapointed it went out of stock. But now I'm so excited about the Attack on Titan free play that I put it on my phone calendar with alerts.

I just recently started actively trying to get rewards points. I tried multiple times through January to get this to work. I downloaded the iOS Edge app, signed in with my account and started doing bing searches. I even made it a point to use the Edge app when I needed to randomly search something. When I would check my rewards page, no points for bing searches. Repeat every few days, same thing. Then I noticed that the Edge app signed me out for some reason. Sign in again and do more searches. Check rewards page...no points. Rinse and repeat. Eventually they updated the rewards page and it prompted me to “turn on bing search rewards to earn more points” Somehow points for bing searches were disabled on my account the whole time! So I go back to the Edge app, it has signed me out for no reason for the hundredth time. Sign in and do some searches. Surely it will work this time right? Check my rewards page, and I have 25 out of 50 daily search points. Do some more searches...still 25 out of 50. Repeat. Try again the next day...no search points. I finally give up.

I am so frustrated with Microsoft right now. Why does the Edge app sign me out EVERY DAY? Sometimes multiple times a day. Did anyone else here have any problems like this?

I also fired up Warframe during the free 2 playathon even though I hadn't played it since October 2015. After 10+ days and over 15 hours in.....this is a fun game. Sure it can be "repetitive," but thats also from a certain point of view. Most fps games are repetitive as are puzzle games like Bejeweled/Gems of War. But the gear, crafting, balanced gameplay and customization put it over the rest for me. Even playing solo, its a blast. I didn't like Warframe back in 15 and I couldn't stand Destiny 1 or even other loot games like Borderlands. But this game sticks out and is fun.

I can see/sympathize your viewpoint since other games just aren't for me. But Warframe is awesome to me and I'm definitely not playing it even though I don't like it. If that's one thing achievement hunting taught me last Gen, don't waste your time on shitty games

The Master Unlock does not give you all the DLC and it was never $19.99. It just unlocks all the stuff that comes with the base game so you can use it without having to earn it. I hope you're just mistaken rather than deliberately trying to fool people into wasting money.

Can someone edit that post? I'd hate for someone to buy what is basically a cheat code thinking it's a season pass.
Yeah thanks for posting this! I almost bought that yesterday due to that post but was skeptical and couldn’t find anything online to back that up. Still I wasn’t sure, so I’m glad you were able to clear that up.

Not home to check and also not sure if it’s a preview ring thing, but was reading over on ResetERA that Game Pass now has a section under Games and Apps. So you can install directly from there instead of going to the store.

Ahhh... I saw a message come up on the blades a couple of days ago that said Kalimba was free with GwG for 0 more days. That must've been some glitch from the Japan GwGs...
I thought this was really odd that Microsoft was actually advertising GWG from other regions. I can't figure out if that's a glitch or if they actually want people to do it.

Split/Second still not free for me, anyone know the deal?
Well I don't know if it's related but I tried my copy and it downloaded the game. Then I went to play it but it said do you own it. I went oh I must have taken the disc out in the meantime (as it takes me a while to download things). Nope, disc is in and I get that notification too so maybe there's a licensing thing happening atm.

Can confirm, I'm in the preview alpha, all the Gamepass Games have their own ready to install section where you can hide them, etc... https://i.imgur.com/qsWi54G.jpg

Also, didn't see it posted, but the new Quests are showing up on the Dash.

Cool. Thanks.

Stupidly cancelled my Sea of Thieves preorder at Best Buy since I did the Game Pass thing for a year. I had ordered it as part of the Visa Checkout deal. And it screwed up the rest of the order. Took away the discount. Not sure how it will ultimately go down on my credit card because one of the items was a game I already got.

That game jumped to the full $60 without even my GCU discount. Not sure if they will retroactively charge me that amount, but I’ll be pissed since I didn’t even get GCU. Should have left it alone and either traded in or sold my Sea of Thieves copy. :(

I would be surprised if you could just plow through the game during the free period. When Battlefield One and Injustice 2 had their free weekends, their campaigns were locked after a certain point since those could be finished in a few days too. They'd obviously want you to buy the game, and leaving it finishable in a weekend removes the incentive for that.

Did this change recently? I played through the whole campaign on BF1 on a free weekend back in March last year.
