GS FAQ

How many copies of a game can I trade in?
You are allowed to trade in 4 copies of a game (per system) within a rolling 30 day period.

What do I need to trade in an older console?

the console, power cable, av cable, and controller; sometimes they don't care about USB charge cable but ymmv. 3ds xl trade would be console, charger, stylus. Some have reported being charged refurb fee for a stylus, but again ymmv (answer stolen from anarchyburger)

FAQ will be entered when those questions get asked frequently.

Traded the old PS3 for a PS4 Pro today at GS...looking forward to some exclusives!
I still can't let go of my two PS3s, they are the best media players I have. Best bluetooth remote for NF, Prime, DVD, Blu-ray and of course media player is the best by far especially with 1.5x speed.

Finally got the email for the 50% extra thats going liev tomorrow.

Contemplating if I should get what remains at Toys R Us or wait and see of TIV's go down due to the promo...

There's normally a bump in TIV at the end of a month, correct?
I wonder whether its worth it to take a chance and wait.
Expecting a TIV drop due to this promo, but could be a rise later (or sink even more).

Assembling my games now in prep.

Has anyone gotten their double point coupon yet? How long did it take? Hoping the values hold until I get mine and can make a pretty big trade.

I hate how they no longer show how much you owe per game, that was really convenient.
I got my coupon yesterday. Used it on a big trade/purchase (Xbox one s to switch deal). Looked this morning and the standard amount of points came through so far

So the 50% trade-in starts Monday, let see how long does it last and how much of a drop.

pretty sure there hasnt been an end month bump in a while

In addition to the 2/4/6 for 30/40/50 trade bonus the sign also has extra $30 toward any XB1/ps4/switch console trade.

My store had it hidden behind the stack of empty console boxes when you walk in.

Pre-ordered game on 6/13 (well actually rolled over a pre-order), and got the coupon for double points today.
I pre-ordered 5 games at 2 different stores on 6/15 and 6/16 but have not received anything yet. I wonder if they are going to tank values right before the coupon goes live. Or just do it before the 50% bonus tomorrow.

Doesn't sound like a 70% bump...or 50% plus 20% for elite. Wording is really tricky on this one, lol.

Honestly, it's a good thing that people are getting denied gift receipts and being able to return or exchange the Switches they trade it for the promotion. I send a registered letter to corporate and an e-mail awhile back along with printouts of the users on here and on another site who have been taking advantage of these promotions and either canceling the preorders or returning the games or systems they traded in for bonuses. So the company is definitely aware that people have been doing that.

Still doesn’t stop anything there’s always loop holes lol

To keep hope alive for a bit, the "up to 50%" could also be in reference to how many games you trade. So it could be 30/40/50 extra credit for trading 2/4/6 games and therefore go back to being 50/60/70 for Elite members. Hopefully....

Man I am too drunk to keep up with this Trainwreck-to-happen. So let me know how this works out after the mods delete and ban and whatnot

Lol because peoples’ CAG usernames will tip GameStop off to their identities.

I picked up a wii at a garage sale for next to nothing that I'm going to trade in to Gamestop. Only thing wrong with it is that it's missing the door that covers the gamecube ports.

I just called a store and asked if that would matter and the lady said yes, they'd have to defect it and that would take $10-15 off the price. That seemed like a hefty amount considering they'd only give me $35 to begin with. Is it that much or did she just not want to have to deal with another frickin wii trade in?

Looking through the trade values, I'd get a $24 base just for the motion plus wiimote, nunchuk, sensor bar ($8 base for a sensor bar?!), and AV cable. (If they take the Wii AC adapter loose, it's not showing on the trade in page, only the Wii U one).

Don't you have a bike you should be returning right about now?

That's not how gamestop rolls. If it is possible to get 70% then they would say up to 70% because that sounds way better than 50%, then when people realize they aren't getting the highest percentage they get talked into a membership.

Sounds like it'll be like the promo they had back in January.   Hopefully the 4 for $20 holds tomorrow, as my local store got a batch of DS games that I'd like grab from that sale and looking to clear a few games out at the same time.

i cannot stand the phrase “up to”...will most likely disappoint. tbh 70% will not make much of a difference with these current values for the top tier switch games i am holding anyways :/

What’s the threshold for surveys? My GS Said only 3 per person count per month. Someone else said one every 3 days. I did some trades/purchases so I have a few receipts but there’s no point in doing them if they don’t count for the store to help them get prestige

If I spend my points on used Trade Credit coupons, can I use more than one coupon on an item or are they going to limit me to 1 per item? By the time I use it I won't be a member anymore, is that a problem? I guess the same question for normal reward certificates.

PSA for west coast: if you're going to need stock for this extra 50% bonus (or whatever it is) stock up on 4/$20 games, a lot are $2.50 base, some $3.

It’ll definitely be 50% bump for Elites and cascading down from there. Still, as long as values don’t tank, it’s a significant upgrade over the Fortnite promotion.

Me assume the trade bonus deal will be replacing the extra $5 for a pre-order deal, so previous deal might have been better depending on what you have to trade.

This is exactly why everyone should practice a lil bit of discretion. Nobody will listen though ahahaha
